Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Shopify App Developer with experience in React/Remix and a strong foundation in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery. The ideal candidate will be responsible for building and maintaining custom Shopify applications, enhancing user interfaces, and ensuring seamless e-commerce experiences for our clients. This role requires a strong understanding of Shopify’s ecosystem, combined with frontend development skills to deliver high-quality, scalable solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• React Develop, test, and maintain custom Shopify apps to enhance store functionality.
• Collaborate with the design and product teams to implement responsive and user-friendly UI/UX features.
• Utilize React and Remix frameworks to build dynamic, interactive web applications.
• Write clean, modular, and scalable code using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery.
• Integrate third-party APIs and manage data securely within Shopify.
• Optimize applications for speed and scalability across various devices and browsers.
• Stay updated on Shopify platform updates, best practices, and industry trends.

JOB PURPOSE

• Develop application using Angular JS (worked on Express JS, JEST), Angular 6 
• This is a hands-on role which involves writing code, testing, and deploying finished web applications and libraries

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITY

• Design, rapid prototype, and implement a scalable, reliable and maintainable node based web application
• Enforce code quality through test driven development
• Enhance, refactor, and continuously improve the existing codebase
• Collaborate closely with team to define product requirements
• Aggressively collect, analyse, and act on data about product performance
• Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical people
• Proactive in keeping your skills updated

ESSENTIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

• Excellent working knowledge of core Java, Node JS, JavaScript, ES6, Micro services
• 4-6 year's overall development experience (At least 2 years of experience in Node JS and Angular JS)
• Good understanding of security in Micro service and Web Applications
• Good understanding of OOP, and design patterns
• Experience in working with databases - SQL and Non-SQL Databases

EDUCATION

• Minimum education: Any Graduate BE/B.Tech would be desirable
• Languages: Excellent English written & spoken

Technical Skills Required:

• Knowledge of multiple front-end languages and libraries (e.g. HTML/ CSS, JavaScript, React/Angular )
• Familiarity with databases (e.g. MySQL, MongoDB), web servers (e.g. Apache) and UI/UX design
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills

• Strong proficiency in JavaScript, including DOM manipulation and the JavaScript object model
• Thorough understanding of React.js and its core principles
• Experience with popular React.js workflows (such as Flux or Redux)

• Experience with data structure libraries (e.g., Immutable.js)
• Knowledge of isomorphic React is a plus
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs
• Knowledge of modern authorization mechanisms, such as JSON Web Token
• Familiarity with modern front-end build pipelines and tools
• Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into technical requirements
• A knack for benchmarking and optimization
• Familiarity with code versioning tools (such as Git, SVN, and Mercurial)

The Engineering team at Whatfix provides end-to-end engineering throughput that forms part of core platforms and services that drive Whatfix's business.

Our team is responsible for creating the Customer Platform and everything around it - be it Analytics, Infrastructure, or Core Algorithms. The team owns and is responsible for all pieces that we design, build and support end to end for Whatfix product/ business.

Our product is built around a core of JAVA with enterprise businesses using the Whatfix system. On a monthly basis, millions of interactive guides are processed. RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Design and develop highly scalable, reliable, and fault-tolerant systems for one of the world’s fastest-growing startups
• Work with business to define requirements
• Perform technical design and hands-on coding for development and enhancement efforts
• Develop new user-facing features
• Building reusable code and libraries for future use
• Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs
• Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability
• Assure that all user input is validated before submitting to back-end services

Team members have also used it to do everything from learning new algorithms to playing with the new framework, to exploring what the new analytics layer could be used for. We also take some time each day to discuss what we're working on, and even pair programs to teach each other about parts of the codebase. There's no risk of stagnation in this job, you would still be hands-on after a few years.

REQUIREMENTS:

We are looking for a Front-End Engineer to help us scale and go deep on our technical capabilities.

• 4 -12 years of professional front-end development experience
• Hands-on experience with Front end technologies - JavaScript, Typescript, HTML, CSS
• Experience with React Ecosystem (React Router, Styled-components, Server-side rendering, Context API, React Hooks) is strongly preferred
• Experience with state management libraries such as Redux is a huge plus.
• Proficient understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues and ways to work around such issues
• Experience in backend programming languages such as Java is strongly preferred 
• Experience in building Web applications using frameworks like Spring, Microservice architecture
• Work experience, preferably from internet companies, products, or startups
• Expertise in design principles and their application
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
