Software Development Engineer II - Fullstack

We're a small, high-output technology consultancy based in London, building AI-powered platforms for the construction and real estate industry. We work with enterprise clients and develop our own products. You'll be building real things that ship.

We're looking for a full-stack developer who has hands-on experience integrating AI into products - not just someone who's done a tutorial on LangChain, but someone who's actually built features powered by LLMs, embeddings, or AI APIs and shipped them to real users.

What you'll do

Build and maintain full-stack web applications using React/Next.js on the frontend and Node.js or Python on the backend

Integrate LLM APIs (Claude, OpenAI, etc.) into production workflows — including prompt engineering, structured outputs, tool use, and retrieval-augmented generation

Work with MCP (Model Context Protocol) servers and AI agent architectures as part of our platform integrations

Design and build APIs that connect AI capabilities to user-facing features

Contribute to data pipelines that feed AI systems — document parsing, embedding generation, vector storage

Work directly with the team on architecture decisions — no layers of project managers

What we're looking for

3–8 years of professional full-stack development experience

Strong React/Next.js and Node.js or Python (ideally both)

Genuine, demonstrable experience integrating AI/LLM capabilities into a product — tell us what you built, how the AI was used, and what you learned

Familiarity with at least some of: LangChain, LlamaIndex, vector databases (Pinecone, Weaviate, pgvector), embedding models, RAG pipelines, prompt engineering patterns

Comfortable with REST APIs, PostgreSQL, and modern deployment (Docker, CI/CD)

Exposure to or interest in MCP (Model Context Protocol), AI agents, and tool-use patterns is a strong plus

Solid written English — you'll be communicating daily with a UK-based team via async standups and weekly video calls

Willingness to overlap with UK hours for at least 4–5 hours daily (roughly 1:30 PM – 6:30 PM IST)

Product company or startup background preferred over services/outsourcing firms

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Build scalable and loosely coupled services to extend our platform
• Build bulletproof API integrations with third-party APIs for various use cases
• Evolve our Infrastructure and add a few more nines to our overall availability
• Have full autonomy and own your code, and decide on the technologies and tools to deliver as well operate large-scale applications on AWS
• Give back to the open-source community through contributions on code and blog posts
• This is a startup so everything can change as we experiment with more product improvements

Some specific Requirements:

• Atleast 2+ years of Development Experience
• You have prior experience developing and working on consumer-facing web/app products
• Hands-on experience in JavaScript. Exceptions can be made if you’re really good at any other language with experience in building web/app-based tech products
• Expertise in Node.JS and Experience in at least one of the following frameworks - Express.js, Koa.js, Socket.io (http://socket.io/)
• Good knowledge of async programming using Callbacks, Promises, and Async/Await
• Hands-on experience with Frontend codebases using HTML, CSS, and AJAX

Job Title: Full Stack Developer - SDE 2

Responsibilities

• Lead design and delivery of complex end-to-end features across frontend, backend, and data layers.
• Make strategic architectural decisions on frameworks, datastores, and performance patterns.
• Review and approve pull requests, enforcing clean-code guidelines, SOLID principles, and design patterns.
• Build and maintain shared UI component libraries and backend service frameworks for team reuse.
• Identify and eliminate performance bottlenecks in both browser rendering and server throughput.
• Instrument services with metrics and logging, driving SLIs, SLAs, and observability.

Qualifications & Skills

• 3–5 years building production Full stack applications end-to-end with measurable impact.
• Proven leadership in Agile/Scrum environments with a passion for continuous learning.
• Deep expertise in React (or Angular/Vue) with TypeScript and modern CSS methodologies.
• Proficient in Node.js (Express/NestJS) or Python (Django/Flask/FastAPI) or Java (Spring Boot).
• Expert in designing RESTful and GraphQL APIs and scalable database schemas.
• Knowledge of MySQL/PostgreSQL indexing, NoSQL (ElasticSearch/DynamoDB), and caching (Redis).
