Position Overview:

We are looking for a Java Developer with expertise in backend development and API design. The ideal candidate will have strong Java programming skills and experience in developing, optimizing, and deploying scalable backend applications. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to build and maintain robust systems.

Key Responsibilities:

Backend Development:

• Develop and optimize Java-based applications using Spring Boot and related frameworks.
• Implement microservices architecture and RESTful APIs.
• Ensure backend applications are scalable, secure, and high-performing.

Database Management & Integration:

• Design and manage relational and NoSQL databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
• Optimize queries and ensure data integrity and performance.
• Work with caching mechanisms like Redis for improved efficiency.

Software Development & Deployment:

• Develop and maintain Java-based backend services.
• Work with version control systems (Git, GitHub, GitLab).
• Deploy applications in cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or Azure).

Optimization & Security:

• Optimize backend applications for performance, scalability, and efficiency.
• Implement best practices for security, authentication, and authorization.
• Stay updated with the latest Java and backend development trends.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Strong proficiency in Java (JDK 8+) and Spring Boot.
• Experience with microservices architecture and RESTful API development.
• Proficiency in SQL and NoSQL databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
• Experience working with unit testing frameworks like JUnit.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Nice to Have:

• Experience with Kafka or RabbitMQ for messaging.
• Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes for containerization.
• Knowledge of authentication frameworks like OAuth, JWT.

You can expect to do some or all of the following:

1. Read through protocols’ whitepapers and smart contracts to derive metrics and analyze risks
2. Architect the backend for APIs, async jobs, and blockchain integration
3. Build clean, concise APIs for customer integration, along with the documentation
4. Setup, run and maintain full and archive nodes across different chains
5. Integrate with multiple partners like exchanges and custody providers
6. Fool-proof security across the stack - encryption, hashing, privacy, VPC, etc.
7. Infrastructure as code - build terraform scripts and ensure easy replication of the infra across different regions
8. Research the top DeFi protocols to uncover better insights for our customers and evaluate their risk profiles, security, and historical returns
9. Manage production deployments, logging, and monitoring

We expect you to be fairly comfortable with working with both web3 and web2 stacks. We do not expect that you have web3 experience on day 1, but you should be willing to wear multiple hats, learn things quickly and move fast.

3. Understand the fundamentals of building and integrating APIs and secure systems. Bonus if you know a bit about blockchains and protocols
4. You can be strong on the backend, front-end, or can dabble everywhere. We want you to play to your strengths and will provide enough opportunities to learn and do things outside of your comfort zone

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :

• Strong OO design and coding skills using multiple stacks, and knowledge of the pros and cons of each
• 1+ years’ experience with Golang
• 6+ years application development experience
• Strong data design skills, using both SQL and NoSQL data stores
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines such as Jenkins
• Experience working with event based distributed systems
• Experience working with services in a Dockerized environment
• Experience with Elasticsearch, Couchbase, Redis, and/or PostgreSQL a plus
• Requires 6+ years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 3 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 2 years’ experience; or equivalent experience.

Design and develop robust services in coordination with front-end developers, ensuring the production and development of high-quality and well-tested code

Design, develop and test features alongside other technical departments

Lead the department in the design, development, deployment, and operation of services used by our users

Optimise APIs for any applications while creating and maintaining unit tests for new code as well as fix defects

Participate in the continuous integration of automated builds and deployments, ensuring that deliverables meet functional and design requirements and specifications of the site/software. Work with engineering leadership in solving and architecting solutions for challenging or complex site/software development issues.
