Senior Software Developer

We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Backend Team Lead to architect and deliver robust, scalable systems while mentoring a team of developers. The ideal candidate will bridge strategic technical vision with practical execution, ensuring high-quality solutions aligned closely with business objectives and technology best practices.

Responsibilities:

●      Architect, design and deliver mission-critical modules end-to-end

●      Write production-grade code daily; lead reviews, debugging, refactoring

●      Embed TDD, CI/CD, design principles, and engineering best practices

●      Develop high-performance, scalable backend systems that power global products

●      Partner with Team Lead, PMs, QA, and product designers to define and execute features

Criteria:

●      6+ years of backend development experience; 2+ years in technical leadership

●      Experience in leading a team of atleast 3-4 engineers

Preferred Skills:

●      Extensive experience with Laravel, Node.js, Python, MySQL, MongoDB

●      Passionate about writing clean, testable, modular code using design patterns

●      Solid understanding and experience with cloud infrastructure, preferably AWS (ECS, Aurora, Lambda, S3, CloudFront etc), including scaling, and security best practices.

●      Demonstrated expertise in building and maintaining systems using a microservices architecture, with an emphasis on scalability, reliability, and maintainability.

●      Familiarity and practical experience with asynchronous communication between microservices using tools like Kafka etc, event-driven architectures, and messaging patterns at scale.

●      Proven capability in designing inter-service communication protocols to optimize system performance, resilience, and latency under heavy loads.

●      Startup exposure—comfortable with ambiguity, learning quickly, pivoting often

Roles & Responsibilities

At Dolat, code is our business, so naturally, the Core Engineering and Systems team is at the centre of what we do. Our community of developers has designed and continues to enhance one of the fastest trading platforms using the latest tools and technologies. As a Software Developer, you’ll draw upon your computer science, mathematical, and analytical abilities to develop complex and nimble code used to grow our business and increase the efficiency of the global financial markets. Your responsibilities may include any of the following, which will require you to exercise discretion and independent judgment:

 Augmenting, improving, redesigning, and/or re-implementing Dolat's low-latency/high throughput production trading environment, which collects data from and disseminates orders to exchanges around the world

 Optimizing this platform by using network and systems programming, as well as other advanced techniques

 Developing systems that provide easy access to historical market data and trading simulations

 Building risk-management and performance-tracking tools

 Shaping the future of Dolat through regular interviewing and infrequent campus recruiting trips

 Implementing domain-optimized data structures

 Learn and internalize the theories behind current trading system

 Participate in the design, architecture and implementation of automated trading systems while taking ownership of system from design through implementation

Skills & Experience

 A strong background in data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented programming in C++

 Exchange Connectivity experience a plus

 Familiarity with Linux environments; Windows a plus

 High level knowledge & competencies in one or more of the following areas: TCP stack optimization Multi-core 1 machine parallelism Low level performance / cache optimization / profiling

Additional requirements include:

 Experience in distributed and/or highly concurrent systems is a plus

 Experience in low-latency systems and/or high transaction environments is a plus

Architectural:

Design and implement a software architecture

Strategy, planning, and design:

• Take end-to-end ownership of the product, identify technology requirements, define the future product vision, create preliminary design concepts for add-on modules and shape overall technology and product roadmap by collaborating with the founders, business development, and marketing team.
• Ensure user oriented design is the primary approach to product development across multiple screens, based on user behaviour data and direct customer feedback.

Implementation and deployment:

• Manage Product Release, QA cycles, feature implementation and on time delivery through in-house team and vendors.
• Collaborate with team and customers to define use cases.
• Creation of wireframes/prototypes, site maps and user-flows for web and mobile platforms.

Operational management :

• Support marketing by implementing technical requirements for SEO/product analytics.
• Establish and supervise a quality assurance process, including integration & system testing.
• Rigorously monitor key performance metrics and coordinate with various teams to take corrective actions if needed.
• Establish and forecast ROI of features and succinctly articulate competitive advantage.
• Set-up data collection and analysis system in collaboration with CEO to track key performance.

Personal Requirements:

• Min of 7+ years of Hands on experience in Web app development, payment gateways implementation, architecture design, product management, databases and UI/UX in consumer facing applications.
• Experience on projects involving engineering and algorithmic functions, machine learning, deep learning and artificial intelligence is very advantageous.
