Senior QA Engineer

We are looking for a Senior Quality Assurance (QA) engineer to develop and execute exploratory and automated tests to ensure product quality.

QA engineer responsibilities include:

Designing and implementing tests, debugging and defining corrective actions. You will also review system requirements and track quality assurance metrics (e.g. defect densities and open defect counts.)

The QA technician role plays an important part in our company’s product development process. Our ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting tests before product launches to ensure software runs smoothly and meets client needs, while being cost-effective. Ultimately, you should monitor all stages of software development to identify and resolve system malfunctions to meet quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Review requirements, specifications and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback
• Create detailed, comprehensive and well-structured test plans and test cases
• Estimate, prioritize, plan and coordinate testing activities
• Design, develop and execute automation scripts using open source tools
• Identify, record, document thoroughly and track bugs
• Perform thorough regression testing when bugs are resolved
• Develop and apply testing processes for new and existing products to meet client needs
• Liaise with internal teams (e.g. developers and product managers) to identify system requirements
• Monitor debugging process results
• Investigate the causes of non-conforming software and train users to implement solutions
• Track quality assurance metrics, like defect densities and open defect counts
• Stay up-to-date with new testing tools and test strategies

Requirements

• Proven work experience in software development
• Proven work experience in software quality assurance
• Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools and processes
• knowledge of Selenium/Appium for web and app automation in android and IOS
• Experience in writing clear, concise and comprehensive test plans and test cases
• Hands-on experience with both white box and black box testing
• Hands-on experience with manual and automated testing tools
• Solid knowledge of SQL and scripting
• Experience of 3 years to 8 years
• Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process
• Experience with performance and/or security testing is a plus.

Job Description:

• Works with team to drive improvements in code quality via manual testing
• Works to develop and execute QA strategies to meet and exceed corporate quality goals
• Delivers on capabilities for the product suite automation strategy
• Develops manual and automated test cases and configurations needed to meet testing of business requirements
• Executes test cases/scripts to ensure delivery of quality software applications, including Systems Integration, Regression, and Performance Testing 
• Generates test data to support the requirements and test case for various test phases
• Building and maintenance of quality standards as well as enforcing technical and testing standards
• Creates logs to document testing phases and defects
• Monitors and tracks resolution of defects and takes part in daily standup 
• Designs, monitors, and analyzes quality assurance metrics such as defect, defect counts, test results, and test status
• Identifies opportunities to adopt innovative testing technologies and techniques
• Looks beyond the obvious for continuous improvement opportunities

Qualification and Experience Requirements: 

• Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, computer engineering, or other technical disciplines, or equivalent work experience required
• 3+ years of experience in Technology, with an emphasis on QA, and proven ability in writing test cases, running functional or performance tests, and managing defects
• Solid experience in test-driven development, unit testing, functional testing, system integration testing, regression testing
• Must have proven analytical and problem-solving skills to help validate, verify, communicate & report software application issues
• Proficiency in written and spoken English
• Solid knowledge of QA methodologies, SDLC and STLC
• Working knowledge of test management software like Jira
• Strong in analytical skills and should be a team player
• Competent in executing test cases and passionate about quality
• Ability to handle conflict effectively

• Work with product and business stakeholders to prepare test cases and plan
• Build, enhance and maintain automation frameworks for scalability, stability, and performance
• Write new automated tests for existing and new features
• Collaborate with QA Engineers to develop effective strategies and test case documentation
• Create logs to document testing phases and defects
• Report bugs and drive them to closure by collaborating with development teams
• Conduct post-release/ post-implementation testing
• Work with cross-functional teams to ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle

• Very good at manual testing of web and windows based applications, web services testing, and integration testing of a complex system, iOS and Android applications.
• Defect Tracking and Reporting of bugs to developers so as to fix it and follow-ups.

Tools and Technologies:

• Knowledge of J-meter, Soap UI is a plus

• Develop and execute both manual test scripts/cases based on analyzed requirements for the Hematology Medical Device.
• Investigates software, hardware, system problems and determines root causes for failures.
• Report and track the defects to closure, support for defect investigation, validate defect fixes and analyze the impact of fixes.
• Be involved in test lab management and improvement of test process activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Biomedical Engineering or other relevant degree and 6+ years of relevant experience
• Work Experience Requirements: 6 or more years of experience in developing software system test designs and procedures.
• Experience in testing of software systems, preferably related to medical instrumentation
• Able to evaluate system specifications and requirements for completeness and testability
• Able to generate test designs and procedures from specifications and use cases, using industry-standard test design techniques, with minimal guidance
• Good understanding of software testing methodologies
• Experience with Requirements Management and Traceability
• Experience with Automated Software Testing is a plus
• Able to Document specifications, and or test documentation
• Able to execute test procedures manually, with minimal guidance
• Ability to work independently and proactively with minimal direction.
• Excellent communication skills. Ability to interface with various internal and external stakeholders.
• Experience in IVD instrumentation, such as clinical chemistry, immunoassay, hematology, urinalysis, molecular, microbiology, or flow cytometry systems, a plus.

• Understanding of software development processes for a regulated environment (ISO9000/FDA) is a plus
