Requirements:

• A total of 2-4 years of professional experience in developing applications/platforms using Python programming
• Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Programming, SOLID principles and RDBMS.
• Demonstrated experience in utilizing AWS services, including Lambda, RDS, and DynamoDB.
• Strong understanding of cloud computing concepts, infrastructure, and architectural best practices.
• Experience in using source control systems, such as Git.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to debug complex systems.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work effectively with team members and stakeholders.
• A constant hunger for learning and staying up-to-date with the latest industry advancements.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.

Sizzle is an exciting new startup that’s changing the world of gaming.  At Sizzle, we’re building AI to automate gaming highlights, directly from Twitch and YouTube streams. We’re looking for a superstar Python expert to help develop and deploy our AI pipeline. The main task will be deploying models and algorithms developed by our AI team, and keeping the daily production pipeline running. Our pipeline is centered around several microservices, all written in Python, that coordinate their actions through a database. We’re looking for developers with deep experience in Python including profiling and improving the performance of production code, multiprocessing / multithreading, and managing a pipeline that is constantly running. AI/ML experience is a plus, but not necessary. AWS / docker / CI/CD practices are also a plus. If you are a gamer or streamer, or enjoy watching video games and streams, that is also definitely a plus :-)

You will be responsible for:

• Building Python scripts to deploy our AI components into pipeline and production
• Developing logic to ensure multiple different AI components work together seamlessly through a microservices architecture
• Managing our daily pipeline on both on-premise servers and AWS
• Working closely with the AI engineering, backend and frontend teams

You should have the following qualities:

• Deep expertise in Python including:
• Multiprocessing / multithreaded applications
• Class-based inheritance and modules
• DB integration including pymongo and sqlalchemy (we have MongoDB and PostgreSQL databases on our backend)
• Understanding Python performance bottlenecks, and how to profile and improve the performance of production code including:
• Optimal multithreading / multiprocessing strategies
• Memory bottlenecks and other bottlenecks encountered with large datasets and use of numpy / opencv / image processing
• Experience in creating soft real-time processing tasks is a plus
• Expertise in Docker-based virtualization including:
• Creating & maintaining custom Docker images
• Deployment of Docker images on cloud and on-premise services
• Experience with maintaining cloud applications in AWS environments
• Experience in deploying machine learning algorithms into production (e.g. PyTorch, tensorflow, opencv, etc) is a plus
• Experience with image processing in python is a plus (e.g. openCV, Pillow, etc)
• Experience with running Nvidia GPU / CUDA-based tasks is a plus (Nvidia Triton, MLFlow)
• Knowledge of video file formats (mp4, mov, avi, etc.), encoding, compression, and using ffmpeg to perform common video processing tasks is a plus.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES?

• Driving the success of the software engineering team at Datamotive.

• Collaborating with senior and peer engineers to prioritize and deliver features on the roadmap.

• Build strong development team with focus on building optimized & usable solutions.

• Research, Design & Develop distributed solution to handle workload mobility across multi & hybrid cloudsr

• Assist in Identifying, Researching & Designing newer features and cloud platform support in areas of disaster recovery, data protection, workload migration etc.

• Assist in building product roadmap.

• Conduct pilot tests to assess the functionality of newly developed programs.

• Front facing customers for product introduction, knowledge transfer, solutioning, bugs triaging etc.

• Assist customers by giving product demos, conducting POCs, trainings etc.

• Manage Datamotive infrastructure, bring innovative automation for optimizing infrastructure usage through monitoring and scripting. • Design test environments to simulate customer behaviours and use cases in VMware vSphere, AWS, GCP, Azure clouds. • Help write technical documentation, generate marketing content like blogs, webinars, seminars etc.

TECHNICAL SKILLS?

• Experience in software development with relevant domain understanding of Data Protection, Disaster Recovery, Ransomware Recovery.

• A strong understanding and demonstrable experience with at least one of the major public cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, Azure or VMware)

• A strong understanding and experience of designing and developing architecture of complex, distributed systems.

• Insights into development of client-server SaaS applications with good breadth across networking, storage, micro-services, and other web technologies.

• Experience of building and leading strong development teams with systems product development background

• Programming knowledge in either of GO Lang, C, C++, Python or Shell script.

• Should be a computer science graduate with strong fundamentals & problem-solving abilities.

• Good understanding of virtualization, storage and cloud platforms like VMware, AWS, GCP, Azure and/or Kubernetes will be preferable

Will there be nights and weekends? 

• - Nights and weekends are not scheduled, however we are looking for someone that takes pride in their work and will lean in to hit a deadline or to fix a bug if it has a significant impact on the platform.

Should they be expected to lead?

• - Yes, you should be expected to lead and to communicate/ cooperate with other devs as a team. Some coding might be alone but the hope of the app is that it all works seamlessly together and to ensure that there needs to be communication among all devs front end and back end.

Who will they report to?

• - They will report to Product OwnerRob and Product ManagerJulietta daily for standups and well as pushing tasks through the appropriate structure of review, QA, and production. 
• They will also report and check in with Client SuccessCourtney as we look to make the app have a seamless customer experience and customer value. The goal of Attribute should be to try and give as much value as quickly and easily as possible.

Will they work alone or in a team?

• In some spots they might be expected to work alone and on a separate sprint from others, however, everything needs to tie in and work together, because of that the developer must be team oriented in both development and problem solving.
• Additionally, there will be times that they should expect to work with people who are not particularly tech savvy ( ie. sales, marketing, customer success etc.) to collaborate on a specific feature to produce the best thing for the product.

Accountability

• The developer is both accountable for their code and the code of the team. They should take care and responsibility in the work that is done and if there are problems with the code in QA or production work as diligently as possible to fix that problem ( whether it is their code directly or not).
• As part of this all code will be attached from Github to Jira for developers to constantly upload their commits to Jira tasks
• A mistake is completely fine and expected, bugs are to be expected. What is asked is that you report it as soon as possible and are honest about it so that we can move forward in resolving it as soon as possible.

• The end user of our product will be marketing professionals/head of marketing. At all times the developers need to take this into account and spend time thinking of the ease and the use cases that people will utilize their code or features in real life versus what is a way to make something work but in a vacuum. 

Quality focused

• Pushing out code is awesome, but if the code has a ton of bugs and does not do the required action that is practical for the user then it does not matter. We want a developer who is Quality focused and also hold their other developers accountable.

Focused on the whole 

• When producing a feature it is easy to sometime get sucked into how that features works in a vacuum. The developers need to be able to work together and understand the software architecture as a whole in order to make whatever feature they are working on be able to work with the other features that are built within the app ( and will be built or are on the roadmap for the future).

• Developers are expected to work within structures, however, they are always encouraged to take time to think of creative solutions and to collaborate on new features or ways of making the product better.
