The Senior Automation QA will be responsible for ensuring software quality by designing, developing, and maintaining automated test frameworks. This role involves close collaboration with engineering and product teams, ownership of test strategy, mentoring junior QA engineers, and driving best practices to improve product reliability and release efficiency.
šÆ Key Responsibilities
- Hands-on QA across UI, API, and Database testing ā both Automation & Manual
- Analyze requirements, user stories, and technical documents to design detailed test cases and test data
- Design, build, execute, and maintain automation scripts using BDD (Gherkin), Pytest, and Playwright
- Own and maintain QA artifacts: Test Strategy, BRD, defect metrics, leakage reports, quality dashboards
- Work with stakeholders to review and improve testing approaches using data-backed quality metrics
- Ensure maximum feasible automation coverage in every sprint
- Perform functional, integration, and regression testing in Agile & DevOps environments
- Drive Shift-left testing, identifying defects early and ensuring faster closures
- Contribute to enhancing automation frameworks with minimal guidance
- Lead and mentor a QA team (up to 5 members)
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and institutionalize QA best practices
- Act as a problem-solver and strong team collaborator in a fast-paced environment

ā Must-Have:
- 5+ years of experience in test planning, test case design, test data preparation, automation & manual testing
- 3+ years of strong UI & API automation experience using Playwright with Python
- Solid experience in BDD frameworks (Gherkin, Pytest)
- Strong database testing skills (Postgres / Snowflake / MySQL / RDS)
- Hands-on experience with Git and Jenkins (DevOps exposure)
- Working experience with JMeter
- Experience in Agile methodologies (Scrum / Kanban)
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills
