Role Overview

We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented finance professional to support end-to-end financial operations — from accounting and compliance to MIS reporting and international payments. The role involves ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance in all financial processes, while enabling business teams with data-driven insights and efficient execution.

Key Responsibilities

1. Accounting & Bookkeeping

• Manage daily accounting operations including journal entries, expense tracking, vendor payments, and reconciliations.
• Ensure accurate books of accounts in Tally/Zoho Books or similar systems.

2. Financial Reporting & MIS

• Prepare monthly and quarterly MIS reports, cash flow statements, P&L summaries, and management dashboards.
• Assist leadership with budget tracking, variance analysis, and cost control insights.

3. Vendor, Client & Overseas Payments Management

• Handle invoicing, receivables tracking, and payment follow-ups with domestic and international clients.
• Process vendor payments, reimbursements, and manage overseas transfers in line with FEMA and RBI norms.
• Maintain up-to-date documentation for all foreign remittance and forex-related transactions.

4. Compliance: Taxation, GST, PF & Statutory

• Ensure accurate calculation, filing, and reconciliation for GST, TDS, and Income Tax.
• Handle PF, ESIC, and other statutory compliances for payroll.
• Coordinate with CA partners and consultants for timely returns and assessments.

5. Audit, Documentation & Record Management

• Prepare audit schedules, support statutory and internal audits, and ensure proper documentation.
• Maintain digital and physical records for all financial and compliance documents.

6. Budgeting, Forecasting & Financial Planning Support

• Assist in annual budgeting and rolling forecasts.
• Monitor actuals vs. planned spend, highlight deviations, and support cost optimization initiatives.

7. Process, Systems & Governance

• Drive improvements in financial workflows, approvals, and reporting systems.
• Support automation tools for expense management, invoicing, and financial control.

Qualifications & Skills

• B.Com / M.Com / MBA (Finance) or equivalent qualification.
• 3–6 years of experience in finance, accounting, and compliance management.
• Strong understanding of GST, TDS, PF, and statutory tax frameworks.
• Experience handling international payments and foreign remittances.
• Proficiency in Zoho Books and Excel.
• High attention to detail, ownership mindset, and ability to work under tight timelines.
• Prior experience in a startup, SaaS, or B2B tech environment is a strong plus.

Causality Biomodels is an Indo-German life science informatics company that focuses on the development of data-based solutions in the bioinformatics sector. Specifically, we work using semantic integration & information extraction methods, knowledge & data organization, and advanced statistical & machine learning techniques in the context of life sciences.

The team Causality Biomodels is searching for a full stack developer with a strong focus on Python, capable of taking on a lead developer role.

You will be mainly focusing on the following areas:

• Implementing new features by modifying our backend system and UI according to the product backlog and discussions with the team.
• Rapid prototyping to explore new directions based on current research developments.
• Design, development and maintenance of APIs, as well as product and add-on components.
• Maintenance of code integrity and organization.

The requirements are:

• Successfully completed bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or in related fields such as Bioinformatics.
• At least 2 years of professional software engineering experience.
• High proficiency in Python and ability to write clean and well-documented code (must).
• Experience with cloud-based development using AWS (preferred), GCP or Azure.
• Experience with Docker and container-based deployment.
• Proficiency in JavaScript.
• Experience with at least one database system (SQL or no-SQL).
• High familiarity with Git.
• Experience with agile development practices.
• Experience with CI/CD and automated testing.
• Very strong English skills (both verbal and written).

Bonus points for:

• Knowledge about machine learning or data science.
• Experience with Python packages SpaCy, scikit-learn, flask and fastapi.
• Experience with JavaScript libraries React and Redux/Context.
• Experience with Gitlab CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience working with knowledge graph data.

• Cross-functional coordination of digital marketing programs.
• Ability to convey the power of the company platform, by defining customer lifecycle journeys and assets to facilitate program execution.
• Engage our customers in a human, meaningful, and value-driven manner. Define and execute customer lifecycle adoption and engagement programs in accordance with digital strategy and execution plan.
• Leverage engagement capabilities to reach thousands of customers based on targeted, segmented approaches.
• Monitor and report on metrics associated with program execution.
• Ability to leverage data and analytics to expand and optimize programs.
• Accountability for adoption, renewal, and churn improvement goals.

Requirements

• 4+ years of industry experience; 2+ years in a related domain. Experience in successful multi-channel enterprise SaaS digital engagement and adoption programs is a strong plus.
• Bachelor’s degree; advanced degree in a business, marketing or technical field preferred.
• Demonstrate being data-driven: continuously test, measure, and improve programs and tactics.
• Possess expertise in the use of various content types and engagement methods, such as video, chat, social media, mobile, email to execute digital programs.
• Knowledge of Google Analytics / Gainsight / Marketo / Optimizely / Pendo / Salesforce / Tableau, etc. to get the data and insights you need to successfully design, execute and monitor programs.
• Prior experience as a customer lifecycle marketer, growth product manager/marketer, product marketing manager, or digital customer success manager.
• Excellent communication - verbal and written.
• Display effective leadership skills, team collaboration, and executive presentation skills

About the Backend Developer

We are looking at a diligent, driven, passionate person for our efforts on engagement and retention of our customers (schools) in a high growth environment. Backend Developer will be the face of the organisation for the schools that are using the platform on a day to day basis. The Developer will interact with the schools via the chat support and email requests and resolve any issues that the schools might be facing in using the platform or extend any support they might be needing to use the platform to its fullest.

• As a Backend Developer, you will play a major role in, developing and deploying high-quality web platforms. In this multifaceted role, you will get the opportunity to work along curriculum experts, teachers, and students, and user-test the product in real school settings.
