We're looking for a senior quality engineer who can move quality upstream: from release-time testing to better automation, contracts, observability, and engineering practices.

What You'll Own?

• Own quality strategy across web, mobile, backend APIs, integrations, and end-to-end workflows.

• Design and maintain automated regression suites for critical customer journeys.

• Build API, integration, contract, and workflow tests that catch failures before production.

• Partner with engineering and product teams during design - not only after development is complete.

• Define release readiness, risk-based testing, and production validation practices.

• Investigate escaped defects, identify systemic causes, and drive preventive improvements.

• Improve test data, environments, tooling, and CI integration so teams can ship confidently.

What We're Looking For?

• 5+ years in software quality engineering or test automation.

• Strong API and backend testing experience, including asynchronous and integration-heavy systems.

• Experience testing mobile and web applications and understanding client/ server failure modes.

• Ability to write automation in JavaScript/ TypeScript, Python, Java, or a similar language.

• Strong debugging skills across logs, network requests, databases, and distributed services.

• Experience with CI/CD and integrating automated tests into release pipelines.

• A product mindset: prioritize risk and customer impact rather than maximizing test-case counts.

Nice to Have

• Performance, load, security, or reliability testing.

• Experience with Playwright, Cypress, Appium, Postman/ Newman, k6, or similar tooling.

• Experience with event-driven systems, queues, webhooks, and long running workflows.

• Experience testing AI-assisted or non-deterministic product behavior.

Job Description:

As a QA Associate at Binocs, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the highest quality standards for our software products. With a direct reporting line to the QA Lead, you will be involved in designing, implementing, and executing test plans to identify software issues. This role is ideal for someone with a strong technical background in engineering, experience in fintech or finance software companies, and a passion for quality assurance and detail-oriented testing.

Key Responsibilities:

• Test Plan Development: Create comprehensive and well-structured test plans and test cases based on product specifications.
• Quality Assurance: Execute test cases (manual or automated) and analyze results to ensure software quality.
• Issue Documentation: Document and track bugs, as well as collaborate with the development team to ensure timely resolution.
• Process Improvement: Identify, recommend, and implement improvements in testing processes to enhance efficiency and quality.
• Software Validation: Validate that product features meet requirement specifications and are free of defects.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with the product management and development teams to understand product vision and deliver software that aligns with customer and market needs.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• 2+ years of experience in quality assurance, preferably within fintech or finance software companies.
• Familiarity with software QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
• Experience in writing clear, concise, and comprehensive test plans and test cases.
• Hands-on experience with both white box and black box testing.
• Strong knowledge of software QA metrics, including bug tracking and reporting tools.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

We are looking for a Quality Assurance Engineer to own testing across our products. The primary focus is MyMotor, Zoop’s consumer vehicle services application on Android and iOS, which helps users look up vehicle registration details, check and pay traffic challans, store documents, and access insurance, FASTag, fuel price and EV charging services.

Alongside the mobile application you will also be responsible for testing the MyMotor website and the backend APIs that both products depend on. This is a hands-on role on a small engineering team, where you will be the last check before a release reaches customers, including flows where a defect costs a user real money.

Requirements

• 2-3 years of hands-on experience in software quality assurance, including testing mobile applications.
• Practical experience testing both Android and iOS applications on real devices, not only emulators and simulators.
• Experience testing web applications, including cross-browser and responsive behaviour.
• Hands-on API testing experience using ApiDog/Postman or a comparable tool, with the ability to read JSON, interpret status codes and validate a response against a contract.
• Ability to write clear, complete test cases and test plans from requirements, designs or acceptance criteria.
• A strong defect report: precise reproduction steps, expected versus actual behaviour, correct severity, and the logs, recordings and build details a developer needs to act without asking follow-up questions.
• Working understanding of the software testing life cycle and of functional, regression, smoke, sanity, integration and exploratory testing.
• Experience with a defect tracking tool such as Linear or Jira.
• A working understanding of client-server architecture and of how a mobile or web client communicates with a backend.

Your primary responsibility will be testing across product functionality, UI, UX, and overall usability, while also having basic awareness of automation testing tools and concepts.

You will work closely with developers, designers, and product teams to ensure that what we ship is stable, intuitive, clean, and client-ready.

• Perform end-to-end manual testing of web and/or mobile applications.
• Test all product features to ensure they work as expected across different scenarios.
• Identify, document, and report bugs, edge cases, inconsistencies, and usability issues.
• Validate fixes and ensure issues are fully resolved before release.
• Test applications from a real user’s perspective, not just based on requirements.

2. Product-Level Testing

• Evaluate whether the product:
• Solves the intended problem
• Has all the required features
• Feels complete and production-ready
• Identify missing flows, broken logic, or confusing behaviors.
• Ensure the product delivers a good overall experience, not just correct functionality.

3. UI Testing

• Review the visual quality of the product:
• Layout consistency
• Alignment, spacing, typography, and colors
• Check if the UI is:
• Clean and intuitive
• Not overly complex or cluttered
• Easy for users to understand and navigate
• Report UI inconsistencies across screens, devices, or browsers.

4. UX Testing

• Analyze how smooth and logical the user journey is.
• Identify friction points in:
• Navigation
• User flows
• Interactions and feedback
• Ensure the product feels natural, fast, and easy to use.
• Suggest improvements to enhance usability and user satisfaction.

5. Automation Testing Awareness

• understanding of automation testing concepts.
