Job Description:
Skyline Infosoft is seeking a QA Engineer (Manual/ Automation) who can own quality across the full stack - frontend, API, and backend. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing test strategies, building automation frameworks from scratch, performing root cause analysis across layers, and collaborating with developers and architects to ensure production-grade quality.
Manual Testing Responsibilities:
- Perform end-to-end manual testing for web applications and REST/GraphQL APIs.
- Design and execute test cases, test scenarios, and test plans.
- Conduct functional, regression, smoke, and sanity testing.
- Identify, document, and track bugs with clear reproduction steps.
- Perform API testing using Postman and Swagger.
- Validate data using MySQL queries for backend verification.
- Ensure cross-browser and responsive testing across devices.
- Collaborate with developers to reproduce and verify issues.
Automation Tester Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain automation scripts using Playwright (TypeScript/Python) or Selenium.
- Build and maintain automation frameworks from scratch.
- Automate regression, smoke, and functional test suites.
- Perform API automation and validation.
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions).
- Conduct root cause analysis across frontend, API, backend, and database layers.
- Use tools like BrowserStack for cross-browser automation.
- Perform security testing using OWASP ZAP or Burp Suite.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in software quality engineering with a strong manual or automation testing.
- Strong proficiency in TypeScript, Playwright, or Selenium for Automation role.
- Hands-on experience with Postman and Swagger for API validation.
- Demonstrated ability to independently trace bugs across frontend, API, and database layers.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools: Git, Jenkins, GitHub Actions for Automated Testing and BrowserStack, Jira, TestRail, Notion for manual testing.
- Communication skills and maturity to challenge technical decisions constructively and propose solutions.
Preferred Qualifications (Good to Have):
- Prior experience in a development role (frontend or backend).
- Write and execute complex MySQL queries for data validation, backend state verification, and cross-checking API responses against database records.
- Conduct performance and load testing using JMeter, define load profiles and analyse throughput/latency.
- Integrate automation tests into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions) with reporting and failure alerting.
- Basic understanding of Docker, Kubernetes, or cloud platforms (AWS/GCP).
- Practical knowledge of security testing (OWASP ZAP, Burp Suite) and familiarity with OWASP Top 10.
