Job Summary :

We are looking for a skilled Python Django Developer with strong foundational knowledge in backend development, data structures, and operating system concepts.

The ideal candidate should have experience in Django and PostgreSQL, along with excellent logical thinking and multithreading knowledge.

Main Technical Skills : Python, Django (or Flask), PostgreSQL/MySQL, SQL & NoSQL ORM, Microservice Architecture, Third-party API integrations (e.g., payment gateways, SMS/email APIs), REST API development, JSON/XML, strong knowledge of data structures, multithreading, and OS concepts.

Key Responsibilities :

• Write efficient, reusable, testable, and scalable code using the Django framework
• Develop backend components, server-side logic, and statistical models
• Design and implement high-availability, low-latency applications with robust data protection and security
• Contribute to the development of highly responsive web applications
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on system design and integration

Mandatory Skills :

• Strong programming skills in Python and Django (or similar frameworks like Flask).
• Proficiency with PostgreSQL / MySQL and experience in writing complex queries.
• Strong understanding of SQL and NoSQL ORM.
• Solid grasp of data structures, multithreading, and operating system concepts.
• Experience with RESTful API development and implementation of API security.
• Knowledge of JSON/XML and their use in data exchange.

Good-to-Have Skills :

• Experience with Redis, MQTT, and message queues like RabbitMQ or Kafka.
• Understanding of microservice architecture and third-party API integrations (e.g., payment gateways, SMS/email APIs).
• Familiarity with MongoDB and other NoSQL databases.
• Exposure to data science libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn.
• Knowledge in building and integrating statistical learning models.

Summary

As a Senior Software Engineer you will be directly responsible for the experience our clients have on the platform by designing, building, and maintaining the server-side of Avoma. As an early member of the team, we will work together to create the building blocks for our development strategy and set up the foundations and processes for future Software Engineers at Avoma.

What you will be doing in the role (Responsibilities)

• Develop features and improvements to the Avoma product in a secure, well-tested, and performant way
• Collaborate with Product Management and other stakeholders within Engineering (Frontend, UX, etc.) to maintain a high bar for quality in a fast-paced, iterative environment
• Advocate for improvements to product quality, security, and performance
• Solve technical problems of moderate scope and complexity
• Craft code that meets our internal standards for style, maintainability, and best practices for a high-scale environment.
• Conduct Code Review to ensure performance of our backend services
• Build RESTful APIs and features for UI application clients (including Web and Mobile)
• Deploy and integrate with machine learning models developed by the AI team
• Own and work the core data processing pipeline and video processing pipeline
• Third-party integrations - Calendar, CRM systems, Video Conferencing
• Search and analytics infrastructure
• DevOps and security

We use the Django framework to build our backend platform and React.js for our frontend application.

Requirements

What you need to be successful in the role (Qualifications)

• At least 4+ years of experience as a Software Engineer with a track record of delivering software with high business impact
• Significant professional experience with Python, Django
• Experience building RESTful APIs
• Using Coding AI agents like Cursor and different prompting techniques.
• System Design knowledge using AWS services and other frameworks of Python / Django ecosystem.
• Experience writing scalable, high-performant, and clean code
• B.S./B.E. in Computer Science or relevant engineering field
• Proficiency in the English language, both written and verbal, sufficient for success in a largely asynchronous work environment

Role Overview

As a Backend Engineer at Corridor Platforms, you will:

• Architect, develop, and maintain backend components for our Risk Decisioning Platform.
• Build and orchestrate scalable backend services that automate, optimize, and monitor high-value credit and risk decisions in real time.
• Integrate with ORM layers – such as SQLAlchemy – and multi RDBMS solutions (Postgres, MySQL, Oracle, MSSQL, etc) to ensure data integrity, scalability, and compliance.
