Get to know the role:

We are looking for an experienced coder with expertise in deep distributed systems and event-driven systems and experience working with streaming platforms. They should have a strong focus on scalability and reliability, and a deep understanding of collaboration and documentation.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop and maintain scalable, reliable and efficient backend system
• Write high quality, well documented and maintainable code.
• Seek and incorporate feedback from code and design reviews to improve code quality and design effectiveness.
• Translate business or technical requirements into effective design documents such as ERDs and RFCs to address clearly defined problems.
• Develops tests to verify code functionality and stability; establishes monitoring and alerting systems to ensure code reliability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery of high-quality software products.

Desired skill set:

• At least 7 years of experience in backend development.
• Strong proficiency in one or more of the following NodeJS, Java, or Go.
• Solid understanding of distributed and event-driven systems.
• Production level experience with PostgreSQL/MySQL and NoSQL databases.
• Strong emphasis on reliability and observability.
• Experience of cloud native architecture specification.

We’re looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join our engineering team to help build and maintain our growing list of products. You should have prior experience being responsible for building sufficiently complex features by yourself.

Responsibilities: 

• Implement product features by writing clean, robust, reusable code with tests
• Conduct peer reviews to keep the codebase a great environment to work on
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers and Engineers to deliver high-quality features
• Bring new ideas and best practices to improve the team and the codebase

Requirements:

• 5+ years of professional work experience
• Proficiency in backend programming languages like Python
• Experience working with web application frameworks like Django
• Experience in building web services using relational databases like PostgreSQL or NoSQL databases like MongoDB
• Proficiency in writing highly performant and scalable code
• Experience in building REST APIs and a good understanding of best practices around building APIs
• Good communication skills with an ability to articulate your views
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
