As the Senior Ruby on Rails Developer at OpiGo, you will play a crucial role in architecting, developing, and maintaining our robust and scalable investing platform. You will work closely with the product team and other stakeholders to drive innovation and deliver exceptional user experiences.

Requirements:

- 5+ years of Ruby on Rails development experience.

- Strong understanding of Ruby programming language and its scope.

- Experience in building complex and scalable web applications.

- Familiarity with front-end technologies: React Native, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3.

- Proficient in version control systems (e.g., Git, SVN).

- Expertise in relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc.).

- Hands-on experience with Sidekiq, Redis, and background job processing systems.

- Ability to implement real-time features using WebSockets and Action Cable.

- Experience in monitoring and performance tuning with tools like New Relic.

- Knowledge of payment gateway integration and secure transaction processing.

- Experience deploying applications on cloud platforms like AWS or Google Cloud.

- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills.

- Understanding of Agile development methodologies and software development practices.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Experience in the fintech industry or working on financial applications.

2. Knowledge of frontend technologies such as React Native, JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3.

3. Experience with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.

4. Familiarity with Docker and container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes.

We are looking for a skilled and experienced Node.js Developer with at least 4 years of professional experience to join our team. As a Node.js Developer, you will be responsible for developing robust and scalable web applications using JavaScript and various frameworks.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Production platform hands-on experience involving Node JS & REST API.

• Hands-on production platform experience working with micro-service back-end architecture.

• Working knowledge of GRPC, HTTPS, and GRAPHQ protocols.

• Well-versed in cloud deployment of code blocks.

• Experience with JS testing and code analysis frameworks such as Mocha.

• Utilize modern JavaScript frameworks such as Express.js and Sails.js to build efficient and scalable applications.

• Work with databases like MongoDB and PostgreSQL using Mongoose and Sequelize ORM.

• Integrate messaging systems like Kafka and RabbitMQ for reliable event-driven communication.

• Write unit tests using Mocha, Chai, and Jest frameworks to ensure code quality and reliability.

• Utilize AWS S3 bucket for secure and scalable storage of data and media files.

• Collaborate with QA engineers to perform thorough testing and bug fixes.

• Work with third-party APIs such as Postman, Twilio, SendGrid, Firebase, and KeyCloak for various integrations.

• Design, implement, and maintain API-based applications and REST services.
• Proficiency with Node JS.
• Must have experience in cloud services Azure Cloud/AWS.
• Familiarity with database technology such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB.
• Develop high-quality, efficient, and scalable code.
• Understanding of Agile methodologies and SCRUM framework Strong debugging, analytical and problem-solving skills.

As a back-end developer, you’ll work on our back-end app that is built with Ruby on Rails. You’ll help to plan and develop new features, review other people’s code, fix bugs, help in technological and business decisions, and support the internal team.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of industry experience
• At least 1 year of experience working on Ruby on Rails projects
• Comfortable in dealing with server infrastructure and deployment processes
• Experience with continuous delivery and automated testing.
• Experience with refactoring Ruby on Rails applications
• Experience in designing, developing and maintaining APIs
• Can work for at least a couple of hours during Japanese business hours

Nice to haves

• UI/UX design principles
• Good understanding of coding best practices and design patterns
• Understanding of security technologies (encryption, authentication, OAuth 2.0)

• Minimum 3 years in MongoDB / PostgreSQL
• Must be from Product based companies   

Roles and Responsibilities

• Develop and manage highly trafficked, highly scalable web properties with PHP5 using Laravel/ZEND CodeIgniter/Yii/Symfony framework.
• Understand the specifications to define system requirements.
• Collaborate and communicate project updates and progress to team members and clients.
• Analyze, design, code, debug, test, document and deploy changes to the system.

Must Haves

• Programming experience with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design
• 1+ years of experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability, and scaling) of new and current systems.
• 4+ years’  work experience in  software development
• BS degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering or related field
• Understanding of operating system fundamentals (Linux)
• Understanding of scalable computing systems, software architecture, data structures, and algorithms
• Knowledge of professional software engineering best practices for the full software development life cycle
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Strong analytical skills, with excellent problem solving abilities
• Working experience with Kubernetes
• Experienced working with distributed databases at scale

• Experience in developing software using AWS native services & technologies.
• Experience taking a lead role in building and operating scalable distributed systems
