MERN Stack developer

Job Description:

• Candidate must be able to do proper analysis of requirements, support of the design, development of the code, testing, debugging, deployment, and maintenance of those programs and interfaces.

• The candidate should be able to work under general directions; typically reports to a team Lead or supervisor/manager.

• Candidate should have practical experience in supporting production issues and providing timely support/assistance.

• Candidate must be available during Business hours, support times, 9AM-6PM-EST to support in-coming Production support Bugs/issues.

• Candidate must be available to do for Production Releases activities during corporate Release timings -which occur monthly on Sundays from 9AM-11AM-EST.

• Candidate must be able to do proper analysis of requirements, support of the design, development of the code, testing, debugging, deployment, and maintenance of those programs and interfaces. Documentation of the work is essential

• Participation in most aspects of programming and application development, including file design, update, storage, and retrieval.

• Modify existing application code or interfaces or build new application components from detailed requirements.

• Formulate concepts, define system scope and technical objectives based on user needs (requires very good written and verbal communication skills, ability to easily grasp business concepts, and possesses skills to build a vision)

• Enhance processes to resolve operational problems and add new functions taking into consideration schedule, resource constraints, process complexity, dependencies, assumptions and application structure

• Ability to maintain the developed solution on an on-going basis is essential

Minimum 6 - 9 years of experience

• Bachelor's degree in computer sciences or information system management required.

• Experience in financial services or captive auto finance companies is a strong plus.

• Ability to integrate with large teams, demonstrating strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Application development experience in large-scale enterprise environments is essential

• Problem-solving skills and critical thinking are essential to effectively conduct the required tasks.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, multi-tasking

• Self-motivated and able to work autonomously when necessary

Intermediate to expert knowledge required in the following areas:

• System development lifecycle, processes and methodologies.

• Good understanding and hands on knowledge in building applications with microservices architecture.

• Ability to understand and communicate/translate code change requirement needed to team and Business.

• Experience with Testing methods, including creating SIT unit and integration testing (Jenkins/Bamboo/JUnit, JMock, Karma Jasmine).

Good to have Skills Experience in the following:

• UNIX (AIX).

• UNIX Scripting.

• XML, XPath, XSLT, DOM/SAX Parser.

• WebSphere, WSAD, MQ Series.

• TOMCAT, JBOSS.

• FTP/SFTP.

• Azure cloud Services.

The Role

Based in Jaipur or Pune, you will be working in a collaborative team on cutting edge technologies in a supportive and dynamic environment. Ultimately you are responsible for building the CODI and on-boarding new clients - this involves:

• Developing a good understanding of the solutions which Peak delivers, and how these link to Peak’s overall strategy.
• Making suggestions towards shaping the strategy for a feature and engineering design.
• Managing own workload and usually delivering unsupervised. Accountable for their own workstream or the work of a small team.  
• Understanding Engineering priorities and is able to focus on these, helping others to remain focussed too
• Acting as the Lead Engineer on a project. Helps ensure others follow Peak processes, such as release and version control.
• An active member of the team, through useful contributions to projects and in team meetings.
• Supervising others. Deputising for a Lead and/or support them with tasks. Mentoring new joiners/interns and Masters students. Sharing knowledge and learnings with the team.

Required Skills and Experience

We are building a team of world class engineers in Jaipur / Pune, essentially we are looking for bright, talented engineers looking to work at the cutting edge of practical AI.

• Acquired strong proven professional programming experience.
• Strong command of Algorithms, Data structures, Design patterns, and Product Architectural Design.
• Good understanding of DevOps, Cloud technologies, CI/CD, Serverless and Docker, preferable AWS 
• Proven track record and expert in one of the field - DevOps/Frontend/Backend
• Excellent coding and debugging skills in any language with command on any one programming paradigm, preferred Javascript/Python/Go
• Experience with at least one of the Database systems - RDBMS and NoSQL
• Ability to document requirements and specifications.
• A naturally inquisitive and problem-solving mindset.
• Strong experience in using AGILE or SCRUM techniques to build quality software.
• Advantage: experience in React js, AWS, Nodejs, Golang, Apache Spark, ETL tool, data integration system, certification in AWS, worked in a Product company and involved in making it from scratch, Good communication skills, open-source contributions, proven competitive coding pro

Responsibilities

• Ability to translate Wireframes and PSD Designs into functional web apps using HTML5, AngularJS, React , Node.js, and Mongo

• Binding of UI elements to JavaScript object models

We are looking for a full-stack Javascript developer mainly with Javascript Frameworks (React, Angular) and NodeJS skillset.

As a Frontend JS Developer, you will be required to implement a complete user interface in the form of a mobile and desktop web app, with a focus on performance.

As a NodeJS developer, you will need to focus on the development of all server-side logic, definition and maintenance of the central database, and ensuring high performance and responsiveness to requests from the front-end.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the full development life cycle, including implementing design, coding, testing and production release

• Your main duties will include creating modules and components in React and coupling them together into a functional app.

• Understanding the nature of asynchronous programming and its quirks and workarounds

• Integration of multiple data sources and databases into one system

• Creating database schemas that represent and support business processes

• Drive innovation through rapid prototyping and iterative development

Qualifications

• Passionate about developing amazing user experiences

• Strong proficiency with JavaScript (Object Oriented)

• At least 1 year of experience working in MEAN or MERN stack - i.e. React/Angular and Nodejs

• Deep knowledge of Frontend Application practices and commonly used modules based on extensive work experience along with Node.js applications on top of RESTful APIs

• Experience with web frontend technologies such as HTML5, CSS3,  Bootstrap

• Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git is a plus

• Knowledge Experience in building ionic/hybrid apps is a huge positive
