We are currently hiring a passionate, product-oriented MERN stack engineer to join a collaborative and innovative team to create technologically challenging, visually delightful, and easy-to-use digital products in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, build, optimize different modules of scalable applications on MERN stack

• Work closely with architects, business analysts, product managers, QA and UI designers to understand the deliverable and business priorities, UX flow and deliver QA approved, unit-testable solutions

• Collaborate with other members of technical team, delegate tasks, participate in code reviews and find out scope of further optimization

• Appear in project interviews, product roadmap discussions, feasibility analysis and sprint retrospective meetings to help in smooth project delivery as per customer expectation and technological excellence.

Skills/ Role Requirements:

• Strong knowledge of Node.js, Express, Microservices, npm packages

• Reactjs (exposure to Typescript is preferred)

• MongoDB, MySQL or any other Sql database

• Ability to write high quality REST APIs in Nodejs and Express

• Ability to create highly scalable and modular components

• Strong knowledge of using ORMs (Sequelize, mongoose)

• Hands-on experience on deploy, monitor, optimize, load-balance large scale nodejs applications on production

• Experience in serverless architecture either lambda or google cloud functions are a plus

• Hands-on experience on Docker, message queue, Redis, AWS managed services are a plus

• Server-side rendering (Nextjs), knowledge of Unix, shell script, deployment, and code sanitization/optimization (Intermediate)

• Have experience in working on large scale enterprise applications

• Strong understanding of coding best practices, error handling, lazy loading, etc.

• Experience in object-oriented design skills.

• An analytical mind and Problem-solving skills

• Open source contribution, active participation in developer communities, publishing own npm packages are plus

As one of the founding engineers, you will support the EduFund tech team with product development, design architecture, and the overall technical strategy.

1) Build, and maintain the core services, infrastructure, and system architecture

2) Experience coding and creating architecture in the MERN stack

-Implement mobile first services, business-logic, APIs for the EduFund product interface

3) Expertise and thorough fundamentals on JavaScript, node.js, ReactJS and architecting modular componentized applications

4) Sound with data structures and algorithms

5) Some experience on NoSQL databases with an insight into various modelling use cases

6) Flexibility and roll-your-sleeves-up-and-code attitude

Specific criteria required for the applicant:

- Strong SQL skills using any RDBMS including data modelling, database design and queries

- Operational experience with CI/CD and Docker and orchestration/Kubernetes; deployments on AWS, GCP or Heroku based platforms

- Some experience on NoSQL databases with an insight into various modelling use cases

- Comfortable across any one flavor of Linux with shell scripting

- Prior experience on Java/C/J2EE enterprise platforms would be considered advantageous if worked on multi-threaded, high-performance systems

Roles & Responsibilities

• Work independently or in a small team setup
• Manage a team of highly skilled Frontend/Full Stack and Backend developers
• Creating, executing, and maintaining project plans including activity definition, sequence, dependencies, work effort, duration, and resource requirements
• Work with the technical team, communicating requirements and ensuring all product development meets the goals of the project and overall business and strategic goals
• Project management including release management, add-on compatibility reporting, updating documentations
• Assist in other ad-hoc or administrative tasks as part of daily/routine business activities
• Work with product technical architects to design new products or enhancements. Take part in system development including analysis, coding, and testing
• Performs design and code reviews with senior technical staff
• Act like the person everyone turns to resolve tough technical problems
• Work closely with other teams/vendors to connect front-end components with the other (often third-party) web and data services and support the back-end developers by integrating their work with the application
• Mentors team on proper standards/techniques to improve their accuracy and efficiency
• Performs the unit testing, system integration testing and assist with user acceptance testing
• Articulates business requirements in sufficient detail such that a technical solution can be designed and engineered
• Develops technical understanding of how the data flows from various source
• Provide ongoing support to applications used within the organization

Requirement

• 5+ years of experience in product development, with 2+ years of experience in a leadership role in current organization
• Reliable, self-motivated, and self-disciplined individual capable of planning and executing multiple projects simultaneously within a fast-paced environment
• Exceptional debugging skills and strong experience with performance tuning
• Excellent technical, analytical, and organizational skills
• Good range of hands-on technical experience
• Expert knowledge in Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC)

Minimum Qualifications:

• Degree in Computer Science, technical field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Proven ability to develop resilient code that performs, and scales based on application usage.
• 6+ years of experience in developing using JavaScript and JavaScript libraries and frameworks such as Angular and React
• 6+ years of experience building applications using JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Web, JSON/XAML-based REST API.
• 3+ years of experience building RESTful web services using NodeJS
• Experience with Unit Testing Frameworks like UnitJS, Mocha
• Understanding of code versioning tools such as Git or Visual Studio Team Services
• Experience with Visual Studio, Visual Studio Code, Atom or Eclipse
