Job Description:

• Proficient in software Design and development and familiar with technologies - Java, Java-J2EE, Spring Boot, Ajax, REST API, Micro services etc.
• Working knowledge of any SQL database (MySQL, Oracle etc)
• Working knowledge of No-SQL database (Mongo or Dynamo DB)
• Experience in unit testing using Junit or Mockito
• Experience in designing and architecting systems with high scalability and performance requirements.
• Ability to design infrastructure for performance evaluation and reporting of cloud-based services, namely AWS
• In depth knowledge of key AWS services like EC2, S3, Lambda, CloudWatch etc..
• Certification on AWS architecture desirable
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to effectively articulate technical challenges and solutions
• Skilled in interfacing with internal and external technical resources
• Good in debugging problems and mentoring teams on technical front

Responsibilities

Co-lead end-to-end design and development efforts for high-volume, low-latency applications for real-time event based systems Lead and direct software engineers, define software architecture, collaborate with other teams to explore existing systems, determine areas of complexity and potential risks to successful implementation of platform modules and features Deliver high-availability and high-performance platform using micro-services architecture Identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies in code, and devise solutions to production and non-production issues Keep an eye out for open source projects and technology trends that can be introduced in the products Transform business functionalities and production specifications into technical requirements and low level design Be hands-on, adopt a practical approach to software and technology Work with product management and other teams to build highly scalable products

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field 4 to 6 years of design and development experience in scalable and distributed enterprise applications using Java/J2EE, JPA, Spring boot framework and RESTful web services Experience in managing, implementing and optimizing big data stores such as MySQL, MongoDB, Elasticsearch, Redis, DynamoDB Experience in deploying applications and using various managed services provided by cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) Experience in front-end technologies HTML5, CSS3, React.js, Angular and D3.js is preferred Strong foundation in computer science, with strong competencies in data structures, algorithms and software design Proven ability to drive large scale projects with deep understanding of Agile SDLC, high collaboration and leadership

• Strong experience in Java programming.
• Must have experience on MicroServices using Spring boots /Jersy /Swagger / any other Microservices technology stack
• Good experience in either Spring or Hibernate

• Basic understanding of Java Memory Management (JMM) including garbage collections concepts.
• Experience in RDBMS or NO SQL databases and writing SQL queries (Joins, group by, aggregate functions, etc.)
• Hands-on experience with Message Broker like Kafka/Rabbitmq or other. Hands-on experience in creating RESTful webservices and consuming web services. Hands-on experience with spring Cloud/Spring Boot.
• Hands-on experience with any of the logging frameworks (SLF4J/LogBack/Log4j)
• Experience of writing Junit test cases using Mockito / Powermock frameworks. Should have practical experience with Maven/Gradle and knowledge of version control systems like Git/SVN etc.
• Hands on experience on Cloud deployment/development like AWS/Azure/GCP.
• Good communication skills and ability to work with global teams to define and deliver on projects. Sound understanding/experience in software development process, test-driven development.

Toyota Connected is looking for a Backend Developer who will architect, design, develop and participate in testing and documentation of large-scale, distributed software applications, systems and services. The Labs team is focused on creating products and services for next generation Connected vehicle systems and the team members are required to be creative in solving problems, excited to work in new technology areas and be ready to wear multiple hats to get things done.
