Java Developer

Job Description:

We are looking for a Senior Java Developer with strong expertise in Apache Kafka and backend systems. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in Java (8/11+), Spring Boot, and building scalable, real-time data pipelines using Kafka.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain backend services using Java and Spring Boot
• Design and implement Kafka-based messaging and streaming solutions
• Optimize Kafka performance (topics, partitions, consumers)
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable microservices
• Ensure code quality and maintain best practices in a distributed environment

Required Skills:

• 6+ years in Java development
• 3+ years of hands-on Kafka experience (producers, consumers, streams)
• Strong knowledge of Spring Boot, REST APIs, and microservices
• Familiarity with Kafka Connect, Schema Registry, and stream processing
• Experience with containerization (Docker), CI/CD, and cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure)

Role Requirements:

• Core: Strong experience in Java, J2EE, Microservices, REST APIs, and Spring ecosystem including Spring Boot and Hibernate
• Databases: Hands-on with MySQL, Redis, and exposure to MongoDB
• Messaging / Indexing: Experience working with Kafka for messaging and Elasticsearch for indexing and search
• Web Technologies: Proficient in XML, YAML, JSON, HTML, and CSS
• Operating Systems: Worked across Linux, Solaris, and Windows environments
• Tools & Methodologies: Familiar with Git, SVN, and Agile/Scrum tools and practices
• Cloud & Others: Experience with AWS

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 15+ years of experience in full-stack application development and engineering management.
• Proven record of leading large teams, building scalable platforms, and delivering customer-centric solutions.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.

Role responsibilities:

• Lead architecture & development using Java/J2EE, Spring, Spring Boot, Microservices, REST
• Design scalable, secure, high-performance systems
• Own module & platform-level architecture decisions
• Drive Agile delivery, engineering best practices & code quality
• Mentor teams and collaborate closely with customers

• Good design skills and exposure to multiple software architectures.
• Strong understanding of OO/ knowledge of frameworks such as Spring/ Spring Boot/ design and good software development practices.
• Strong core server-side technologies experience (Java). 
• Knowledge of Android is a huge plus.
• Strong database skills including schema design.
• Strong knowhow of data-structures and algorithms.
• Experience with configuration management, testing, deployment.
• Hands on development across technologies.

• Experience building large scale, large volume services & distributed apps., taking them through production and post-production life cycles
• Experience in Programming Language: Java 8, Javascript
• Experience in Microservice Development or Architecture
• Experience with Web Application Frameworks: Spring or Springboot or Micronaut
• Designing: High Level/Low-Level Design
• Development Experience: Agile/ Scrum, TDD(Test Driven Development)or BDD (Behaviour Driven Development) Plus Unit Testing
• Infrastructure Experience: DevOps, CI/CD Pipeline, Docker/ Kubernetes/Jenkins, and Cloud platforms like – AWS, AZURE, GCP, etc
• Experience on one or more Database: RDBMS or NoSQL
• Experience on one or more Messaging platforms: JMS/RabbitMQ/Kafka/Tibco/Camel
• Security (Authentication, scalability, performance monitoring)

Must Haves

• Programming experience with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design
• 1+ years of experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability, and scaling) of new and current systems.
• 4+ years’  work experience in  software development
• BS degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering or related field
• Understanding of operating system fundamentals (Linux)
• Understanding of scalable computing systems, software architecture, data structures, and algorithms
• Knowledge of professional software engineering best practices for the full software development life cycle
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Strong analytical skills, with excellent problem solving abilities
• Working experience with Kubernetes
• Experienced working with distributed databases at scale

Good to haves

• Experience in developing software using AWS native services & technologies.
• Experience taking a lead role in building and operating scalable distributed systems
• Experience in Agile/SCRUM enterprise-scale software development
• Familiar with building secure software using modern security principles
• Demonstrated ability to achieve goals in a highly innovative and fast-paced environment
