Introduction

We are looking for an experienced Solution Architect with strong hands-on expertise in Java and Microservices architecture.

Responsibilities include:

- Design and define end-to-end solution architecture for enterprise applications using Java and Microservices.

- Lead architecture discussions, technical design reviews, and solution blueprints.

- Drive microservices-based application design, including service decomposition, API contracts, and integration patterns.

- Define and govern RESTful API standards and service-to-service communication.

- Work closely with product owners, business stakeholders, and development teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.

- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to development teams.

- Ensure solutions meet non-functional requirements such as scalability, performance, availability, and security.

- Review code, architecture artifacts, and ensure adherence to best practices.

- Support DevOps, CI/CD strategy, and cloud-native adoption.

- Identify technical risks and propose mitigation strategies.

Primary Skills :

- 10+ years of proven experience in the industry, with at least 3 years as an Architect or similar role designing and developing enterprise-scale applications.

- Bachelors in engineering / technology (4 year) or master's in computer applications (2 year)

- Must possess at least 6+ years of Software development experience.

- Expert knowledge in at least one object-oriented programming language like Java, one backend framework like Spring Boot / Node JS, one UI framework like React JS / Angular JS and RDBMS or NoSQL database.

- Excellent knowledge of front-end programming languages, such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and AngularJS, with the ability to render server-side and client-side content.

- Helps identify newer practices and adoption of existing ones. Ensure that the code quality is maintained via own and/or peer code reviews.

- Can lead the team in delivery of backend and user interface code. Ensure that the DevOps tasks are

executed well.

- Ensure that the software has the correct level of logging & monitoring in Production and LLEs.

- Exceptional problem-solving skills.

- Excellent written and verbal communication. Must understand the client’s business requirements and translate them into software requirements. Has a view of the deliverable timeline and escalates when needed.

- Ability to articulate technical designs & develop documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts etc.

- Experience in implementing OMS products for retail customers will be an added advantage.

- Ability to do estimation for the given requirements.

- Ability to lead technical discussions with clients.

- Must be able to do quick proofs of concepts and demos based on client requirements.

- Provide timely feedback on the performance of team members.

- Conduct interviews & provide feedback to achieve hiring objectives.

- Contributes to organization building functions such as hiring, training, mentoring, team building.

Secondary Skills :

- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes for containerized deployments.

- Exposure to Cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.

- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, etc.).

- Experience with Kafka / RabbitMQ or other messaging systems.

- Good understanding of SQL and NoSQL databases.

Basic knowledge of:

- Application security (OAuth2, JWT, TLS)

- Logging & monitoring (ELK, Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch, etc.)

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering with a specialization in computer science or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience as a software engineer in a product development setting.
• Love of technology and experience with one or more programming languages: Java and Python.
• Experience in full-stack development, including designing APIs and integration patterns, implementing security, and implementing frameworks for unit and end-to-end testing.
• Experience with microservices architecture.
• Experience in one or more frameworks like FastAPI, Spring, GRPC, Flask, etc.
• Extensive experience in a test-driven development environment.
• Understanding of CI/CD practices, including code check-in policies, automated unit tests, automated code deployments, etc.
• Ability to grasp new technologies and use them effectively to create industrial-strength software.

Your Impact:

• Implements Digital Consumer experiences based on a foundation of SFCC (Salesforce commerce cloud) to meet expected quality standards

• Ensures functional requirements and high-level solution designs are understood and are translated into detailed technical design

• Implement proofs of concept to prove any new technologies, application flows or integration scenarios and identify customizations needed to SFCC platform for meeting client requirements

• Guides the performance tuning and scalability of the ecommerce solution

• Diagnose and solve technical problems during implementation and support phases

Your Skills & Experience:

•  4-8 Years with 2+ years of implementing commerce application on any eCommerce platform in last 3 years

• If you have not worked in eCommerce platform, we can still discuss with you if you are expert in Java/Net and understand REST/SOAP webservices.

• Demonstrate proficiency in build and release management using CI/CD strategies (leveraging tools like Jenkins and DevOps practices), implement Mocha/Chai unit and functional test cases in order to reduce costs while ensuring quality
. Contributes to designing, implementing and documenting the build release process as well as system configuration and deployment characteristics of the applications

• Participates in technical walkthroughs/ code reviews of other team members’ components, test plans and results and help them with gaps

• Collaborate with architect to define implementation processes and quality gates and standards

• Identifies risks and issues, and help monitor them

• Guides the development of reference and resource materials

• Mentors developers in improving their platform knowledge and development skills

• Communicate technical design to the developers and help/guide them in the implementation

• Participates in Agile sprints

What you'll work on

As a Software Engineer, you will be working on development project which will be based on API transitions, API Management ,API Monetization engine (based on Java, Springboot & AWS) and high traffic transactions.

Key responsibilities

As a Senior Software Engineer, you apply deep experience and technical know-how in the Software Engineering domain with-

• 7-10 years of experience

• Design, build and maintain multiple complex software application technologies and their interaction with Telstra processes and systems

• Develop innovative software that maintains data/network security management, and leverage set processes to reduce the time between commission and production

• Authentically engage with and influence a multi-stakeholder landscape to translate customer needs into leading-edge software application products, services or systems that meet Telstra’s time, cost and quality standards 

• Collaborate with team members and key stakeholders, seeking support, direction and buy-in to gather deep insights about the challenges and opportunities of our software application technologies and platforms

• Significantly contribute to continuous improvement initiatives of our systems and processes, to help define ‘best practice’ corporate testing standards and drive improved outcomes (e.g. productivity, customer experience and/or profitability)

• Good understanding of spring boot and microservices.
• Exposure to AWS services - S3, SQS, Lambda, DynamoDB, API Gateway, etc.

Good to have

• Knowledge of No-SQL DBs like mongo, dynamoDB, etc.
• Knowledge of message brokers/queuing services like SQL, rabbitMQ, Kafka, etc.

Basic Qualifications

• Solid knowledge of algorithms/data structures is a must
• Strong Java software development experience – with a focus on Java 8 & 9
• Experience with NoSql databases – ideally with MongoDB
• Experience implementing REST apis – ideally with JAX-RS
• Experience with Reactive Programming – ideally with RxJava
• Experience implementing unit tests

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience developing applications in fintech or established financial institutions
• Experience with microservice architectures
• Experience developing systems that can scale to large amounts of data
