As Java developer you would be expected to perform many duties throughout the development lifecycle of applications, from concept and design right through to testing. Here are some of the responsibilities you may have:

Develop high-level design and define software architecture

Implement and maintain quality systems within the group

Proficiently estimates, design approaches and nimbly move to alternate apporaches, if needed, develop and execute unit test strategies

Monitor and track tasks, and report status

Assist project heads to conceptualize, design, develop, test and implement technology solutions

Effectively collaborate with stakeholders and users to ensure customer satisfaction

Skill Set :

Java 7 / Java 8 with microservices, Multithreading, Springboot, Junit, kafka, Splunk (Good to have), Open Shift (Good to Have), Authentication/ Spring Security (Good to have)

• To support and maintain existing Java code base, debug the application 
• To analyse user and business requirements and design and implement appropriate solutions 
• To design and code programs following in-house standards and good design principles 
• To ensure that all programs are documented to the company standards 
• To create unit test plans and perform unit testing of the programs
• To provide advice and guidance to other members of the team

• Hands on experience in designing and developing applications using Java EE platforms 
• Object Oriented analysis and design using common design patterns 
• Good knowledge of Relational Databases, SQL and ORM technologies (JPA2, Hibernate) 
• Experience in the Spring Framework 
• Experience in developing web applications using at least one popular web framework (JSF, Wicket, GWT, Spring MVC) 
• Experience in RESTFul webservices
• Experience with test-driven development 
• Exposure to portal/mobility development - Desired
• Exposure to any of middleware solutions like MQ, Oracle fusion middleware(WebLogic), WebSphere, Open Source

• Min 5 years of hands-on experience in Java Spring-boot technologies
• Experience with monolithic applications
• Experience using Redis and RabbitMQ
• Experience with RDBMS such as SQLServer and My SQL
• Strong analytical, problem solving and data analysis
• Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills are a must
• Micro service frameworks such as Java SpringBoot
• Design and implement automated unit and integration tests 

• l IT experience delivering enterprise-scale applications or product implementations

What you will do: 

• Collaborate with the client to understand problem statements and provide solutions for the same.
• Explain client requirements to the project team and plan and delegate work requirements
• Ensure the applications are released to production in the committed timeline
• Work with the QA team to ensure the code developed by the team passes the necessary quality check.
• Document application changes and development updates
• Set and evolve standards and best practices for our application development team 
• .Guide and mentor junior developers and engage in regular learning activities
• Oversee development process compliance and CI activities.

What you will bring: 

• 4 years minimum detail-oriented experience as a Senior Software Engineer.
• Experience in client interactions and/or are looking forward to doing that (preferred if, you have worked in B2B application development for large enterprises 🟢)
• Prior experience of at least one large project with a few people under your belt. (🟢)
• Expert-level knowledge of Java, Spring Boot, Oracle/Postgres.
• Expert-level knowledge on one or all of Hibernate/JPA/MyBatis.
• Experience in RESTful services and fundamentals of MVC architecture.
• Experience in working with and configuring web and application servers, such as Apache/Nginx/Tomcat.
• Proficient understanding of build tools, such as Maven/Gradle and code versioning tools, such as Git/SVN.
• Ability to review specifications documents and provide technical inputs on successfully implementing business solutions.

As a Java Tech Lead, you would be expected to understand business requirements, represent Needle to external stakeholders, and have experience in working in agile teams.

Primary Responsibilities

• Responsible for full software life-cycle, system design and development of front-end & back-end systems
• Writing high-quality code, participating in code reviews, designing/architecting systems of varying complexity and scope
• Identify libraries and technologies worth experimentation
• Build innovative solutions from scratch and liaise with architects and engineers to build solutions
• Mentoring other team members

Required Skill

•  Degree in Computer Science or relevant experience
•  2-7 years of relevant hands-on software engineering experience doing software design and development
•  Proven experience of working on back-end web frameworks like RoR (preferable) or Python/Django or Node.js
•  Good command over at least one JavaScript frameworks like React.js, Vue.js or Angular
•  Excellent understanding of relational database structures, having knowledge of unstructured databases (NoSQL) will be an  added advantage
•  Expertise in object-oriented design, unit testing, integration testing, data structures, algorithms, scalable APIs, etc.
•  Knowledge of working on cloud technologies and exposure of AWS services (EC2, RDS, S3, etc)
•  Work in a fast-paced environment and make pragmatic engineering decisions in a short amount of time
•  Experience with Agile Development and Scrum methodologies.
