Senior Software Engineer - Java

We are seeking a skilled Java Developer with hands-on experience in Java and Spark to build scalable data processing solutions. You'll contribute to high-performance data pipelines and analytics platforms in a dynamic Agile environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop Java applications integrated with Apache Spark for ETL processes, data transformations, and analytics.
• Build and optimize Spark jobs (Spark SQL, DataFrames, Streaming) for large-scale data processing.
• Collaborate with data engineers and analysts to implement robust data workflows.
• Write clean, maintainable Java code following best practices (Spring Boot, Microservices preferred).
• Perform code reviews, unit testing, and contribute to CI/CD pipelines.
• Troubleshoot and optimize Spark performance for production workloads.
• Document technical solutions and mentor junior developers.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 4-7 years of hands-on Java development experience.
• Strong expertise in Apache Spark (Spark Core, Spark SQL, PySpark basics).
• Proficiency in Java 8/11+ with multithreading and collections frameworks.
• Experience with data processing (ETL, data pipelines, big data).
• Familiarity with build tools (Maven/Gradle) and version control (Git).
• Strong problem-solving skills and Bangalore location availability.
• Excellent communication skills for cross-team collaboration.

Good to Have

• Experience with Snowflake for cloud data warehousing.
• Knowledge of DBT (Data Build Tool) for analytics engineering.
• Python scripting for data manipulation and automation.

Role & Responsibilities

• 4+ years of recent hands-on coding and in-depth knowledge of building applications in the python framework.
• Have in-depth knowledge of development in Django framework, hands-on experience in working with WebSockets, deploying and managing applications in AWS.

• Have testing, and debugging skills, and have experience in working with git, aws.

 Review all job requirements and specifications required for deploying the solution into the production environment. 

 Perform various unit/tests as per the checklist on deployment steps with help of test cases and maintain documents for the same. 

 Work with Lead to resolve all issues within the required timeframe and inform for any delays. 

 Collaborate with the development team to review new programs for implementation activities and manage communication (if required) with different functions to resolve issues and assist implementation leads to manage production deployments. 

 Document all issues during the deployment phase and document all findings from logs/during actual deployment and share the analysis. 

 Review and maintain all technical and business documents.  Conduct and monitor software implementation lifecycle and assist/make appropriate customization to all software for clients as per the deployment/implementation guide 

 Train new members on product deployment, issues and identify all issues in processes and provide solutions for the same. 

 Ensure project tasks as appropriately updated in JIRA / ticket tool for in-progress/done and raise the issues. 

 Should take self-initiative to learn/understand the technologies i.e. Vertica SQL, Internal Data integration tool (Athena), Pulse Framework, Tableau. 

 Flexible to work during non-business hours in some exceptional cases (for a few days) required to meet the client time zones. 

Experience on Tools and Technologies preferred: 

ETL Tools: Talend or Informatica ,Abinitio,Datastage 

BI Tools: Tableau or Jaspersoft or Pentaho or Qlikview experience 

Database: Experience in Oracle or SS 

Methodology: Experience in SDLC and/or Agile Methodology

• 1+ year of experience
• Full responsibility for designing and building core back-end modules and system architectures.
• Good understanding of database concepts.
• Experience with at least two programming languages (PHP & GoLang).
• Experience in creating at least one web application.
• Knowledge of MySQL in-depth and basic understanding of MongoDB along with basic understanding about different paradigms of programming.
• Ability to interact and coordinate with a team.
• Should have a basic understanding of APIs.
• Modify code in time to keep code dry and reusable.
• Should have worked in at least one framework in the backend.
• A background in Software Architecture would be preferred.

• Develop data-driven web solutions on PHP frameworks (ideally CakePHP), but be undeterred when the need arises to create an application from the ground up as required, maintain, contribute and adhere to our programming best practices and guidelines.
• Work with a team of UI designers, programmers, and server admins, to bring brand new concepts to the market.
• Help improve our code quality through writing unit tests, automation and performing code reviews.
