Job Title: Freelance Python Team Lead & Developer (Hyderabad-based)

Project Overview

We are a service-based IT firm seeking a Senior Python Developer (3–5 years experience) for a long-term freelance engagement. This is a unique "Player-Coach" role where you will balance high-level individual coding with the leadership of a junior intern team.

Logistics & Commitment

• Location: In-office (Hyderabad). Candidates must be local.
• Time Commitment: 3–4 hours per day, 5 days a week (approx. 20 hours/week).
• Duration: Ongoing freelance contract.

Core Responsibilities

• Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of interns. You will be responsible for task delegation, technical guidance, and conducting rigorous code reviews to ensure production-quality output.
• Individual Contribution: Act as the lead developer for complex backend modules, API architecture, and system integrations using Python (Django/FastAPI).
• Delivery Management: Ensure that the intern team meets project milestones and adheres to clean coding standards (PEP 8).

Requirements

• 3–5 years of professional experience in Python development.
• Proven experience in a service-based company environment.
• Strong proficiency in Django, Flask, or FastAPI and SQL/NoSQL databases.
• Excellent communication skills with a natural ability to mentor and explain technical logic to juniors.
• Availability to work from our Hyderabad office during standard business hours.

Job Description:

Candidate must have 2 to 5-years of experience in various phase of development of a python-based application or API development.

Requirements:

Must Have:  Strong expertise in PYTHON and its built-in data structures, developing API using flask or fastapi, data wrangling using standard python frameworks like pandas, NumPy etc., integration of various applications (third party or inhouse) with python.

Good to Have: Deployment using Nginx, GUnicorn, IIS, docker and Kubernetes etc. Good understanding of optimization solutions like differential evolution. Hands on experience with python packages like Scipy.  Tkinter to make python-based applications.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Understanding/gathering the requirements from stakeholder, formulating the problem, and leveraging AI/ML to solve the business problems.
• Integration of third party or in house application with python solution.
• Working on Deployment and optimization of various engineering problems using Numerical/Constraint optimization frameworks such as Differential Evolution and deploy a web-based API using Flask and Nginx/IIS.
• Unit testing of various python modules developed and testing of the API.

Desired Candidate :

• Experience in Node.JS working with large scale backend applications
• Expertise in any Relational or NoSQL databases and any of caching databases
• Experience in integrating with RESTful/GraphQL APIs and Microservice APIs
• Good problem solving and debugging skill
• Good knowledge of engineering excellence: Unit Testing/TDD, Code quality,
• Documentation, CI&CD
• Exposure on event-driven, asynchronous I/O
• Experience in Linux development and AWS ecosystem tools
• Experience in non-functional requirements (Scalability, Performance optimisation, Security)

• Has worked extensively on caching technologies such as Redis, memcache.

• Should be strong with Data Strcutures, Algorithms & OOPs concepts.

• Worked on NoSQL databases such as MongoDb.

• Designed and developed highly scalable multi-threaded large scale distributed systems.

• Well versed with services and micro-services architecture.

• • Usage of containers, virtual machine systems, cloud computing.

   

• Experience in PHP & MySQLi, various open source frameworks,
• Strong knowledge in JavaScript, XHTML, CSS, AJAX, SQL,
