Some of the tech problems you get to work on as a backend engineer would be to build the backend for a modern spreadsheet experience from scratch, work on infra as code, write robust code that is fault-tolerant, work on performant code that adheres to SLOs set by the organization. 

About you:

Job Description

We are looking for a great Java Developer who is passionate about working in the Microsoft tech stack using Java. Your primary focus will be on developing common reusable components and implementing them following well-known best practices. You will ensure that these components and the overall application are robust and easy to maintain. You will coordinate with the rest of the team working on different layers of the infrastructure. Thus, a commitment to collaborative problem solving and an attitude to learn is essential. 

Job Responsibilities: 

• Designing and developing high-volume, low-latency applications for mission-critical systems and delivering high-availability and performance.
• Contribute in all phases of the development lifecycle.
• Write well designed, testable, efficient code.
• Prepare and produce releases of software components.
• Support continuous improvement by investigating alternatives and technologies and presenting these for architectural review.
• Design and develop dockerised microservices for cloud 

Required skills and experience include:

• BS in Computer Science or other field of study and applicable work experience.
• Most likely 3-5 years of experience on Java Web Development.
• Experience in developing Microservices for cloud (Azure/AWS/GCP) is preferred
• Experience in Spring Framework (Spring boot, spring Batch), Spring MVC, Microservice model, RESTful web services
• Experience in databases like SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB is desired.
• Should have hands-on experience on Hibernate, JPA or MyBatis or any other persistence framework.
• Must have strong teamwork orientation and the ability to foster collaboration within and across teams 
• Knowledge of Maven/gradle
• Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes 
• Good Communication skills ( English)

Cloudera Lens is a high-fidelity, context-rich, and fully correlated self-service observability & optimization tool that analyzes the state and wellness of a customer’s environments and empowers them to proactively discover and address unknown unknowns in their data, scale operations without compromising on performance or costs, and expedite remediation of issues.

As a Java engineer, you will be working in a team of engineers led by an Engineering Manager, collaborating with other engineers and stakeholders in India, United States, and other countries around the globe.

Responsibilities:

• Lead, architecture, design, and implementation of key aspects of the Cloudera Lens data collection, data analytics, data correlations, and recommendations.

• Work with product management, engineering, UX, and documentation teams to deliver high-quality products.
• Interact with partners and customers to help define roadmap and shape the technology.
• Empower team members to deliver high-quality software at a fast pace.

Requirements:

• Proven track record of performance.
• Passionate about software engineering. Clean coding habits, attention to detail, and focus on quality and testability.

• Strong software engineering skills: object-oriented design, data structures, algorithms.
• Experience with containerization orchestration technologies: Kubernetes, Docker.
• Deep knowledge of system architecture, including process, memory, storage, and network management is highly desired.
• Experience with the following: Java, concurrent programming, and related areas.
• Experience with Java memory management, performance tuning and scaling
• Experience in building horizontally scalable products handling multi-terabyte datasets is desirable.
• Experience with relational and non-relational databases: PostgreSQL, Amazon S3.
• Strong oral and written communication skills in English.

Qualification & Experience

• Collaborating with the front-end developers and other team members to establish objectives and design more functional, cohesive codes to enhance the user experience.
• Own code for the products with responsibilities including but not limited to designing, developing, testing, maintenance of products.
• Building RESTful services and do DevOps.
• Talking to customers and business teams to suggest improvement areas in product flows.
• Create peer learnings for team members and build context for new teammates
• Help with building the company's tech team and iterating on the hiring framework.
• Provide regular feedback to your team (peers and managers) to ensure continuous improvement.
• Keeping abreast with the latest technologies and working on your skills regularly.

Skills & Requirements

• Good knowledge and experience of working with backend systems; designing server-side architecture, including production maintenance experience are must-haves.
• At least 1-8 years of experience in any programming languages like Java, Ruby, PHP, Python, and Node.js(Node.js preferred).
• Understanding of micro-services-oriented architecture.
• Experience with Databases design (SQL, NoSQL) and analytics
• Experience in driving and delivering complex features/software modules from technical design to launch.
• Expertise with unit testing & Test Driven Development (TDD)

The role of software engineer here is, to develop the application software that is being used on compactors and to do thorough software testing methodically. Expertise is needed on both embedded & application development.

• Expertise on Object oriented programming.
• Highly proficient in C# & C++. Expertise on .NET Framework, ASP.NET, JavaScript, HTML & CSS.
• Proficient in windows frameworks like WPF, WCF, etc for developing desktop applications.
• Knowledge on Microsoft Azure / other cloud technologies.
• Good knowledge on C programming and some exposure to embedded software development.
• Good at unit testing and testing frameworks like gmock, gtest, etc.
• Good at developing solutions in efficient way. Good at solving problems, quick grasper & solid analysis skills.
