Why This Role Exists

At Mercor, we believe the safest AI is the one that’s already been attacked — by us. We are assembling a red team for this project - human data experts who probe AI models with adversarial inputs, surface vulnerabilities, and generate the red team data that makes AI safer for our customers.

This project involves reviewing AI outputs that touch on sensitive topics such as bias, misinformation, or harmful behaviors. All work is text-based, and participation in higher-sensitivity projects is optional and supported by clear guidelines and wellness resources. Before being exposed to any content, the topics will be clearly communicated.

• Red team conversational AI models and agents: jailbreaks, prompt injections, misuse cases, bias exploitation, multi-turn manipulation
• Generate high-quality human data: annotate failures, classify vulnerabilities, and flag systemic risks
• Apply structure: follow taxonomies, benchmarks, and playbooks to keep testing consistent
• Document reproducibly: produce reports, datasets, and attack cases customers can act on

• Develop and optimize computational geometry algorithms for reading a 3D CAD model
• Rapidly prototype, test, and refine geometric algorithms and software implementations
• Integrate and optimize 3D libraries into our software applications

What you bring to the table

• Strong expertise in computational geometry algorithms, CAD kernels, and geometric modeling
• Solid proficiency in C++ or Python; experience with Go, React, or Rust is a significant bonus

Position Purpose:

The Software Engineer II is responsible for independently developing and assisting in the design of a product that our customers and associates love. As a Software Engineer II, you will be part of a dynamic team with engineers of all experience levels who help each other build and grow technical and leadership skills while creating, deploying, and supporting production applications. In addition, Software Engineer IIs may be involved in configuration, security, resilience, performance tuning and production monitoring.

An ideal candidate will have prior experience in eCommerce Products and worked closely with Product, Design, and other cross-functional partners.

Requirement-

• 5+ years of experience in building scalable commercial web applications.
• A passion to provide a good user experience
• Deep expertise in Javascript and work experience in using one of the frameworks available (React JS, Angular, Node JS, EmberJS, etc).
• If you are passionate about implementing elegant User Interfaces using HTML and CSS.
• Ability to work autonomously and to be able to work cross-functionally with multiple stakeholders.
• Excellent communication skills, good visual design sense, in-depth experience in developing web-based applications.
