Job Title: Deployment Lead (Python, Linux, AWS) 

Location: Coimbatore

Overview 

We are seeking an experienced Deployment Lead to oversee the end-to-end deployment lifecycle of our applications and services. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Python, strong Linux administration skills, and hands-on experience with AWS cloud infrastructure. You will work closely with engineering, DevOps, QA, and product teams to ensure reliable, repeatable, and scalable deployments across multiple environments. 

Key Responsibilities 

• Lead and manage deployment activities for all application releases across development, staging, and production environments. 
• Develop and maintain deployment automation, scripts, and tools using Python and shell scripting. 
• Own and optimize CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI, or AWS CodePipeline). 
• Oversee Linux server administration, including configuration, troubleshooting, performance optimization, and security hardening. 
• Design, implement, and maintain AWS infrastructure (EC2, S3, Lambda, IAM, RDS, ECS/EKS, CloudFormation/Terraform). 
• Ensure robust monitoring, logging, and alerting using tools such as CloudWatch, Grafana, Prometheus, or ELK. 
• Collaborate with developers to improve code readiness for deployment and production reliability. 
• Manage environment configurations and ensure consistency and version control across environments. 
• Lead incident response during production issues; conduct root-cause analysis and implement long-term fixes. 
• Establish and enforce best practices for deployment, configuration management, and operational excellence. 

Required Skills & Qualifications 

• 5+ years of experience in deployment engineering, DevOps, or site reliability engineering roles. 
• Strong proficiency in Python for automation and tooling. 
• Advanced experience with Linux systems administration (Ubuntu, CentOS, Amazon Linux). 
• Hands-on work with AWS cloud services and infrastructure-as-code (CloudFormation or Terraform). 
• Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and orchestration platforms like ECS, EKS, or Kubernetes. 
• Strong understanding of CI/CD tools and automated deployment strategies. 
• Familiarity with networking concepts: DNS, load balancers, VPCs, firewalls, VPN, and routing. 
• Expertise with monitoring, alerting, and logging solutions. 
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills; able to lead troubleshooting efforts. 
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities. 

We’re seeking a Back-End Developer with hands-on experience in Node.js or any other modern backend framework. You’ll be responsible for building robust, scalable APIs and server-side logic powering Zilo’s high-velocity quick commerce platform.

Key Responsibilities

Develop, maintain, and optimize back-end applications and APIs.

Work on microservices, API integrations, and data modeling.

Ensure system scalability, reliability, and performance under high traffic.

Collaborate with front-end and mobile developers for seamless API integration.

Implement best practices in code quality, security, and database design.

Troubleshoot production issues and support deployment cycles.

Technical Skills Required

Strong proficiency in Node.js, Express.js, or similar backend frameworks.

Experience in MongoDB, MySQL, or PostgreSQL.

Understanding of RESTful APIs, authentication (JWT/OAuth), and middleware.

Familiarity with AWS, Docker, or other deployment environments.

Hands-on experience with Git and CI/CD pipelines.

Knowledge of other programming languages like Python, Java, or Go is an added advantage.

About the role

Checking quality is one of the most important tasks at Anakin. Our clients are pricing their products based on our data, and minor errors on our end can lead to our client's losses of millions of dollars. You would work with multiple tools and with people across various departments to ensure the accuracy of the data being crawled. You would setup manual and automated processes and make sure they run to ensure the highest possible data quality.

Your Responsibilities would be to:

• Understand customer web scraping and data requirements; translate these into test approaches that include exploratory manual/visual testing and any additional automated tests deemed appropriate
• Take ownership of the end-to-end QA process in newly-started projects
• Draw conclusions about data quality by producing basic descriptive statistics, summaries, and visualisations
• Proactively suggest and take ownership of improvements to QA processes and methodologies by employing other technologies and tools, including but not limited to: browser add-ons, Excel add-ons, UI-based test automation tools etc.
• Ensure that project requirements are testable; work with project managers and/or clients to clarify ambiguities before QA begins
• Drive innovation and advanced validation and analytics techniques to ensure data quality for Anakin's customers
• Optimize data quality codebases and systems to monitor the Anakin family of app crawlers
• Configure and optimize the automated and manual testing and deployment systems used to check the quality of billions of data points of over 1000+ crawlers across the company
• Analyze data and bugs that require in-depth investigations
• Interface directly with external customers including managing relationships and steering requirements

Basic Qualifications:

• 2+ years of experience as a backend or a full-stack software engineer
• Web scraping experience with Python or Node.js
• 2+ years of experience with AWS services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, etc.
• Should have managed a team of software engineers
• Should be paranoid about data quality

Preferred Skills and Experience:

• Deep experience with network debugging across all OSI layers (Wireshark)
• Knowledge of networks or/and cybersecurity
• Broad understanding of the landscape of software engineering design patterns and principles
• Ability to work quickly and accurately in a highly stressful environment during removing bugs in run-time within minutes
• Excellent communicator, both written and verbal

Additional Requirements:

• Must be available to work extended hours and weekends when needed to meet critical deadlines
• Must have an aversion to politics and BS. Should let his/her work speak for him/her.
• Must be comfortable with uncertainty. In almost all the cases, your job will be to figure it out.
• Must not be bounded to comfort zone. Often, you will need to challenge yourself to go above and beyond.

• Previous working experience as a Python Web Developer for min 2 years.

• Hands-on experience with Django, Flask, or other Python frameworks.

• Experience with Design implementation of objects and data models.

• Working knowledge in JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3.

• Understanding of CI/CD practices.

• Familiarity with some ORM (Object Relational Mapper) libraries.

• Proficient understanding of code versioning tools such as Git, Mercurial, or SVN.

• Hands-on experience with complex scripts in Python to capture business logic and automate system management tasks.

How you fit in

Engineering is the executional function of EAGLE's software delivery wing. As a server-side developer at Eagle, you will take the lead on implementing various software services of our core energy retail infrastructure. Not only are you expected to write clean, tested, and maintainable code, you will also be a central part of a product team that iterates constantly, ships regularly, and learns continuously. You will have the creative freedom for learning, experimenting, and responsible risk-taking in a startup environment.

What your role consists of:

• Develop enterprise-scale backend services using Golang

• Collaborate with engineers, UI/UX designers, and product owners to build & ship new features and maintain/enhance existing ones

• Independently come up with extensible low-level software design. Write modular, tested, readable and performant code

• Debug production issues across services and multiple levels of the stack

• Help inform product prioritisation and scoping decisions by evaluating technical complexity and risk

• Improve engineering standards, tooling, and processes

• Maintain technical documentation

What you bring to this role:

• At least 1-3 years of demonstrated ability to rely on an iterative process to maintain momentum on projects in a distributed, collaborative, agile environment
• An ownership mindset: you should look not only at what you’re asked to do, but ask why you’re doing it and how it impacts on the rest of the product, our customers, and whether it makes sense
• Comfort with low-level engineering and ability to write efficient, performant and tested code
• Think deeply about systems and services and write high-quality code. We work mostly in Golang, with AWS Cloudformation. However, languages can be learned: we care much more about your general engineering skill than - knowledge of a particular language or framework.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to give and receive constructive feedback
• Passion for the whole product process. You will have your specific areas of focus, but we find those that are passionate about the bigger picture collaborate best with cross-functional teams
