Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced PHP/Laravel Developer with strong JavaScript skills to work across the full stack. You will build scalable backend systems, interactive frontends, robust APIs, and use modern AI tools to speed up development. This role involves backend coding, frontend development, database design, and full-stack integration.

What You’ll Be Doing

1. Backend Development

• Build reliable PHP applications and REST APIs
• Write clean, maintainable Laravel code
• Create REST APIs and work with GraphQL when required
• Work with microservices and Docker-based environments
• Perform code reviews and maintain coding best practices

2. Frontend Development

• Develop responsive and modular web UIs using JavaScript frameworks
• Build interactive components using React, Vue, or Angular
• Work with modern CSS frameworks and preprocessors
• Implement SPA features like routing & state management
• Ensure browser compatibility and mobile responsiveness

3. Database Work

• Design database schemas for MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis
• Write optimized SQL queries via Eloquent ORM or Query Builder
• Implement indexing and performance optimization
• Work with SQL & NoSQL databases
• Manage migrations and ensure database stability

4. AI Tools & Productivity

• Use AI coding assistants (GitHub Copilot, Cursor AI, Tabnine)
• Integrate AI APIs (OpenAI, Claude) into applications
• Build AI-powered features and automations
• Use AI tools for debugging, refactoring, and code optimization

5. Full-Stack Integration

• Connect frontend and backend layers smoothly

Key Responsibilities:

• Frontend Development: Build responsive, modern, and engaging user interfaces using React.js, ensuring a seamless user experience across all devices.
• Backend Development: Design and implement RESTful APIs, manage databases, and handle business logic using Node.js and Express.js.
• Database Management: Build and manage MongoDB databases, including schema design, data modeling, and query optimization.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with UX/UI designers, product managers, and other developers to deliver high-quality, performant web portals.
• Performance Optimization: Implement best practices for performance tuning, scalability, and reliability across both frontend and backend.
• Code Quality: Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code, adhering to best practices, and conduct code reviews for your peers.
• Testing and Debugging: Write unit and integration tests, and debug issues to ensure stability, security, and quality in production.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience (3+ years) in full-stack web development using the MERN stack (MongoDB, Express.js, React.js, Node.js).
• Strong understanding of HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript (ES6+), along with modern JavaScript frameworks and libraries.
• Experience with state management in React (e.g., Redux, Context API).
• Solid understanding of RESTful API design, asynchronous programming, and Node.js server-side development.
• Hands-on experience with MongoDB and integrating databases with Node.js.
• Familiarity with modern development tools and workflows such as Git, CI/CD pipelines, and containerization (Docker).
• Strong problem-solving abilities and an eye for detail.
• Ability to work in an agile development environment, with a focus on continuous delivery and iterative improvement.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiarity with additional frontend technologies such as TypeScript, GraphQL, or Next.js.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and serverless architectures.
• Knowledge of performance optimization techniques and scalability best practices.
• Understanding of DevOps processes, containerization, and microservices architecture.

Role

Being a part of Products Engineering team, this member is expected to work with existing

development team. Key responsibilities of this role include design and development of PHP based applications as per the product roadmap. Coordinate with co-developers and contribute to all phases of the development lifecycle.

Experience

Around 4 years of experience in creating and implementing Web-based products using PHP,

MySQL, Ajax, and JavaScript.

Ability to work in an Agile, fast-paced environment, and learn rapidly.

Bachelor degree in computer science, computer engineering or similar.

Expert in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JQuery, JSON.

Experience in any PHP framework Laravel, CodeIgniter or Zend.

Writing clean, readable, and easily maintainable code.

Must have knowledge of project/task management tools like Jira,

Familiarity with Version Control Tortoise Bitbucket, Git etc.

Understanding of UI, cross-browser compatibility and web standards.

Good English communication skills, written and spoken.

Able to work with minimum supervision as well as perform under pressure and meet

Deadlines.

Desirable

Experience in working with Agile projects.

The system is high-performing and handles the shipment of a few million US dollars every day. DevOps CI-CD Pipeline automates the whole Build and Deployment process for the developers using Jenkins & Ansible. We also use Jenkins to run Test Automation Suite. The platform is written in Java 8, Sprint Boot, Hibernate, Javascript, HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, Groovy, Grails. There are a few additional services you might find written in NodeJS, Python, Selenium, Cucumber, Junit Shell Scripts etc. We follow Scrum methodology and all our tasks are tracked on Jira. 

Expected Skillset:

Candidates having good experience with Java, Spring Boot, Hibernate, Javascript, HTML, CSS, MYSQL will be preferred.

Great if you also have working experience or understanding of Gradle, Grails, Groovy etc.
