Frontend Engineering

Responsibilities:

• Design and develop user-friendly, robust, and scalable Flutter/Android/iOS applications.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and backend developers to understand requirements and translate them into functional applications.
• Implement clean and efficient code following best practices, coding standards, and design patterns specific to mobile development.
• Ensure high performance, responsiveness, and stability of the applications by conducting thorough testing and debugging.
• Integrate RESTful APIs to fetch and send data from/to the backend servers.
• Work with SQLite or other database technologies to implement data persistence in mobile applications.
• Implement effective UI/UX designs following Material Design guidelines to ensure a smooth and intuitive user experience.
• Collaborate with the team to identify and implement solutions to improve application performance, maintainability, and user engagement.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest trends, technologies, and best practices in mobile development and share knowledge with the team.
• Assist in troubleshooting and resolving issues reported by users or clients, providing timely and effective solutions.

Technical Requirement :

- Strong knowledge of Android SDK, different versions of Android, and how to deal with different screen sizes

- Familiarity with RESTful APIs to connect Android applications to back-end services

- Strong knowledge of Android UI design principles, patterns, and best practices

- Experience with offline storage, threading, and performance tuning

- Strong knowledge in SQLite Database

- Experience in designing and developing custom controls for Android.

- Solid foundation in data structures, algorithms, and object orientation design.

- Capabilities to write and execute unit test cases.

- Independent researching, solution finding, analysis and problem solving skills and capabilities.

- Should have a strong knowledge of OOPS and intermediate knowledge of front-end GUI design and development.

- Should have knowledge of Kotlin

- Should have experience in MVC / MVVM Architecture.

- Good in Analytics and Communication

Requirements

2. Extensive understanding of Architectures - both old and new -> MVC to MVVM To Clean
3. Excellent In-depth understanding of Java and Kotlin Programming Languages
4. 2+ Years of managing android developers
5. Have worked on or scaled an app to more than 1mn downloads
6. Obsessed about long term solutions, yet understands business requirements to deliver projects quickly
7. Good understanding of backend technologies for better cross teamwork
8. Obsessed about app ratings, app vitals, and crash-free apps

Responsibilities

1. Lead the Testbook Android Team of 12+ Android Developers
2. Own the Testbook Android App (2Cr+ Installs) and its related 500+ Apps
3. Work extensively with Product Managers to deliver quality products and features
4. Improve the App Architecture and drive processes for code reviews, releases.
5. Take up occasional challenging Android coding tasks

Desired Candidate Profile

The Role

We are looking for an experienced Software Engineer (React Native) who will lead the development for Jackett's mobile apps. Each day you'll design, build and ship features that will directly improve teachers' lives. You will shape our product direction and technical architecture for the years to come.

You'll report directly to the CTO and partner closely with teams across product and design to build React Native apps for Android and iOS from scratch. And we'll work together to create an environment where you can grow professionally. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Own the architecture, development and implementation of our mobile app to enable the team to quickly iterate a high-quality product.
• Implement clean, modern, smooth animations and transitions that provide an excellent user experience.
• Implement pixel perfect Ul's that match the designs.
• Create our iOS and Android deployment CI/CD pipeline to ship reliable features daily.
• Engage in technical research and champion best practices for writing clean, maintainable and reusable code with clear documentation.
• Accurately estimate time and effort required to deliver high quality features.
  Required Skills/Abilities:
• 4 + years of experience as a software engineer.
• Built and shipped high-quality mobile apps (android and iOS) using React Native.
• Production-level experience with Mobile C l / C D , unit testing and automated E2E testing
• Proficiency working with RESTful APIs.  
• Ability to take extreme ownership of your work and to deal with high pressure situations in a fast paced environment and meet targets without compromising the quality of the deliverables.
• Product understanding to break down user stories into high impact features.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills, especially for a remote first work environment   

Extra Credits for:

• Knowledge of AWS cloud infrastructure - CodePipeline, Amplify, CDN etc.
• Knowledge of TypeScript.
• Knowledge of SCORM and Learning Tools Interoperability (LTI) framework
• Experience of React Native development at an early stage EdTech startup
