DevOps Engineer

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Plan, schedule, and manage all releases across product and customer projects.
• Define and maintain the release calendar, identifying dependencies and managing risks proactively.
• Partner with engineering, QA, DevOps, and product management to ensure release readiness.
• Create release documentation (notes, guides, videos) for both internal stakeholders and customers.
• Run a release review process with product leads before publishing.
• Publish releases and updates to the company website release section.
• Drive communication of release details to internal teams and customers in a clear, concise way.
• Manage post-release validation and rollback procedures when required.
• Continuously improve release management through automation, tooling, and process refinement.

IDEAL CANDIDATE:

• 3+ years of experience in Release Management, DevOps, or related roles.
• Strong knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, source control (Git), and build/deployment practices.
• Experience creating release documentation and customer-facing content (videos, notes, FAQs).
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills; able to translate technical changes into business impact.
• Familiarity with SaaS, iPaaS, or enterprise software environments is a strong plus.

Objectives of this role

•Building and implementing new development tools and infrastructure

•Understanding the needs of stakeholders and conveying them to developers

•Working on ways to automate and improve development and release processes

•Testing and examining code written by others and analysing results

Responsibilities:

• Set up CI/CD pipelines for automated deployment and delivery

•Setup and management of new and Existing cloud-based Kubernetes cluster services

•Write Ad/Hoc Bash/Python scripts to automate certain operational tasks.

•Designing, maintenance and management of tools for automation of different operational processes.

•Provision of critical system security by leveraging best practices and prolific cloud security solutions.

•System troubleshooting and problem resolution across various application domains and platforms

•Support/maintain development, UAT and production infrastructure.

•Providing recommendations for architecture and process improvements.

•Respond to L2 calls and emails.

•Help administer monitoring systems, alerting, log management, and other IT infrastructure systems.

•Perform root cause analysis of production errors and resolve technical issues

•Design procedures for system troubleshooting and maintenance

Technical Skill Requirements:

•Experience in a DevOps role in AWS/OCI cloud environment.

•Must have experience with CI/CD Pipelines and hands-on experience with DevOps tools such as, Jenkins, Git, Docker, Kubernetes, Ansible, etc.

•Strong knowledge in Terraform for multi-stack cloud infrastructure provisioning.

•Strong knowledge in OCI/AWS-based Kubernetes service management.

•Must have experience with Python/Bash as a scripting language.

•Good knowledge in software debugging, web applications and services (Apache, Nginx, HAProxy)

•Must have knowledge in monitoring setup with Prometheus, Alertmanager, Grafana, Thanos, Loki, Fluentbit, etc.

Good To Have Skills

As a DevOps Engineer, you’re responsible for automating the deployment of our software solutions. You interact with software engineers, functional product managers, and ICT professionals daily. Using your technical skills, you provide internal tooling for development and QA teams around the globe.

Your profile

We are looking for someone who meets the following qualifications:

• A bachelor’s or master’s degree in a field related to Computer Science.
• Pride in developing high-quality solutions and taking responsibility for their maintenance.
• Minimum 6 years' experience in a similar role
• Good knowledge of the following technologies: Kubernetes, PowerShell or bash scripting, Jenkins, Azure Pipelines or similar automation systems, Git.
• Familiarity with the Cloud–Native Landscape. Terraform, Ansible, and Helm are tools we use daily.
• Supportive towards users.

Role Overview:

We're looking for a passionate DevOps engineer with a minimum of 10 years’ experience across all levels, who will work closely with the development teams in Agile setup to continuously improve, support, secure, and operate our production and test environments. We believe in automating our infrastructure as much as possible and pursuing challenging problems in a sustainable and repeatable way.

• Production experience with distributed/scalable systems consisting of multiple microservices and/or high-traffic web applications

• Extensive knowledge of the Linux operating system
• Troubleshooting skills that range from diagnosis to solution for Dev team issues
• Knowledge of how the web works and HTTP fundamentals
• Knowledge of IP networking, DNS, load balancing, and firewalling

Bonus points, if you have:

• Experience in agile development and delivery process.
• Good knowledge of at least one programming language. TecStub uses e.g. Nodes, PHP
• Experience in containerizing applications and deployment to production (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Experience in building modern Terraform infrastructures in cloud environments (AWS, GCP, etc...)
• Experience in analysis of application and database performance monitoring tools (Newrelic, datalog, cluster control, etc..)
• Experience with SQL databases like MySQL, NoSQL, Realtime database stores like Redis, or anything in between.
• Experience being part of the engineering team that built the platform.
• Knowledge of good security practices, including network security, system hardening, secure software, and compliance.
• Familiarity with automated build pipeline / continuous integration using Gitlab and Jenkins and Kubernetes/Docker with this setup, we're deploying to production 2 times per day!
