Finance Controller
BondScanner | Sustvest Broking Pvt. Ltd.
Location: Bangalore (in-office)
Reports to: Co-Founder & CEO
Experience: 8–10 years; CA qualified (mandatory)
Scope: Controllership + asset-liability / treasury management for the BondScanner entity
Team: Builds and leads a small finance function
About BondScanner
BondScanner is India's retail-native bond platform — operated by Sustvest Broking Pvt. Ltd., a SEBI-
registered Online Bond Platform Provider (OBPP). We give retail Indian investors zero-brokerage
access to listed corporate bonds and government securities. Built on rails proven by our predecessor
platform Tap Invest, which served HNI investors at meaningful scale, BondScanner is the retail
expansion of that thesis — and one of the fastest-growing platforms in India's bond market. We're
backed by leading fintech founders and institutional investors, and we're scaling fast.
Why this role matters
As a SEBI-registered stockbroker, BondScanner runs on a foundation of trust — client funds
segregation, daily reconciliation, and clean books are not back-office hygiene, they are the licence to
operate. You will own the finance function end-to-end for the entity: the books, the regulatory filings, the
audits, the client-funds discipline, and the liquidity and capital management that keep us compliant and
investor-ready as we scale. This is a build-and-own role reporting directly to the CEO, with a clear path
to Head of Finance as the business grows.
What you'll own
1. Controllership
• Books of accounts and IndAS-compliant financial statements for Sustvest Broking — accurate,
timely, and audit-ready.
• Statutory and tax audits, internal audits, and SEBI / exchange inspections — owning
preparation, response, and remediation end-to-end.
• All statutory and regulatory filings: SEBI half-yearly net worth certificates, NSE/BSE stockbroker
compliance returns, GST, TDS, advance tax, and MCA filings.
• Monthly MIS and management reporting for the founders and board, with a clean, reconciled
view of revenue, costs, and profitability.
2. Client funds & settlement discipline
• Daily and weekly reconciliation of client funds across pool and settlement accounts, ensuring
complete segregation from the firm's own funds.
• Ownership of the upstreaming of client funds to the clearing corporation and the weekly
settlement / running-account settlement obligations under SEBI rules.
• Settlement reconciliations with exchanges and clearing corporations, and OBPP-specific
reporting under the SEBI Master Circular for Stock Brokers.
• Zero tolerance for client-funds shortfalls — you treat the weekly settlement report as a hard,
penalty-bearing deadline, not an accounting nicety.
3. Asset-liability & treasury management
• Manage the entity's liquidity — ensuring funds are available to meet settlement obligations on
time, every cycle.
• Maintain net worth and regulatory capital comfortably above SEBI minimums; model capital
requirements as transaction volumes scale.
• Own day-to-day cash management, bank relationships, and the firm's own treasury (distinct
from client funds).
• Build the liquidity and capital dashboards the founders need to monitor the entity's financial
health in real time.
4. Audit, fundraise & team
• Lead financial diligence support for fundraising rounds — data room, MIS packs, investor Q&A,
and audit coordination.
• Build and maintain a clean, audit-ready data room from day one, so every round and inspection
finds the books in order.
• Hire, lead, and develop a small finance team across accounts, treasury, and compliance
operations.
• Choose and scale the finance stack — ERP, reconciliation, and regulatory reporting tools —
that supports the next phase of growth.
Who you are
Must-have
• CA qualified (Chartered Accountant) — mandatory.
• 8–10 years of post-qualification experience, with meaningful time in a regulated financial
services entity — stockbroker, NBFC, bank, asset manager, or large fintech.
• Hands-on experience with controllership: books, statutory audits, regulatory filings, and board-
level financial reporting.
• Strong understanding of client funds handling, reconciliation, and settlement — or the ability to
ramp on it quickly from an adjacent regulated background.
• Strong IndAS, GST, and direct tax fundamentals.
• Proven ability to build process and lead a small team.
Strongly preferred
• Direct experience in a SEBI-registered stockbroker or OBPP, with familiarity with the Master
Circular for Stock Brokers.
• Experience handling SEBI / exchange inspections first-hand.
• Exposure to a fundraise on the finance side — diligence, data room, investor MIS.
• Familiarity with bond / fixed-income market mechanics — settlement, CCIL, NSDL/CDSL flows.
How you operate
• You're paranoid about reconciliations. A 1% mismatch keeps you up; a 0.01% mismatch makes
you find the bug.
• You're as comfortable in a regulator's office as in a founder offsite, and you can switch registers
without changing the truth.
• You take ownership without being asked. If something's broken in finance, it's yours to fix.
• You think in systems, not tickets — you'd rather fix the root cause once than patch the symptom
monthly.
What we offer
• Competitive compensation benchmarked to senior fintech roles in Bangalore, with meaningful
ESOPs.
• A direct line to the CEO and a seat at the table as we scale and raise.
• The chance to build a finance function from the ground up at one of India's fastest-growing bond
platforms.
• A clear path to Head of Finance as the business grows.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day accounting and financial operations.
- Prepare and review financial statements, MIS reports, and management reports.
- Handle direct and indirect taxation, including GST, TDS, Income Tax, and statutory compliances.
- Ensure timely filing of tax returns and regulatory filings.
- Coordinate with auditors, tax consultants, and government authorities during audits and assessments.
- Represent the organization before tax authorities, when required.
- Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, financial regulations, and statutory requirements.
- Manage month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Work on financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
- Recommend and implement process improvements to strengthen financial controls and operational efficiency.
- Maintain accurate financial records using accounting software and ERP systems.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of Accounting Principles, Financial Reporting, and Statutory Compliance.
- Hands-on experience in Direct and Indirect Taxation.
- Experience in statutory audit, internal audit, and financial compliance.
- Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel) and accounting/ERP software such as Tally, SAP, Zoho Books, or similar.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and presentation skills.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
Qualifications
- Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) - Mandatory
- Bachelor's degree in Commerce (B.Com) or equivalent.
- Prior experience working with an IT Services or Software company is mandatory.
Experience
- 3-6 years of post-qualification experience as a Chartered Accountant.
- Candidates with experience in finance, taxation, statutory compliance, and accounting within the IT industry will be preferred.

Aparoksha Financial Services (AFPL) is a regulated NBFC built on a straightforward conviction: institutions that last are built through disciplined execution, sound governance, and people who take genuine ownership of their work. Over the last few years, we have built a meaningful presence in two-wheeler financing across India, backed by dependable operations, growing technology capability, and a culture that values follow-through over noise.
As we continue to grow—we are looking for the next set of accounting professionals who want to build on the foundation that the current team has built, and not simply maintain it.
We are hiring an accounting professional to join our Finance team in Bengaluru. Depending on your current experience, exposure, and demonstrated capability, you could join us as a Senior Executive, Assistant Manager, Manager, or Assistant Vice President – Accounts.
What matters more than the title is the disposition: someone who is comfortable with the fundamentals, willing to be precise where precision matters, and interested in strengthening how the accounting function operates as the organisation scales. You will work closely with the finance leadership team and be entrusted with responsibilities that are genuinely central to the financial integrity of the business — not peripheral to it.

• Carry out disbursement, payment and billing transactions

Financial Closing & Reporting
• Support month-end, quarter-end, and annual financial closing activities, including preparation of journal entries.
• Prepare MIS, ageing reports, schedules, and management reports, and support financial analysis as required.
• Monitor outstanding receivables and payables, and drive timely follow-up and resolution of discrepancies.
Compliance & Controls
• Ensure compliance with GST, TDS, and other applicable statutory requirements.
• Coordinate with internal and statutory auditors, providing documentation and clarifications as needed.
• Strengthen internal controls and contribute to process improvements as the function matures.
For More Experienced Candidates (Manager / AVP level)
• Own specific accounting workstreams end-to-end and take accountability for their accuracy and timeliness.
• Liaise with banks, vendors, counterparties and lender representatives
• Mentor and guide junior team members, and help shape processes and systems that will scale with the business.
• Partner with cross-functional teams — credit, operations, and technology — to ensure accurate and timely financial operations.
What We're Looking For
• 2+ years of relevant experience in Finance & Accounts; candidates with significantly more experience are welcome to apply for the more senior bands of this role.
• B.Com, M.Com, MBA (Finance), CA Inter, or an equivalent qualification.
• Experience in an NBFC, bank, or other regulated financial services environment is preferred, though not mandatory.
• A solid grasp of accounting fundamentals, reconciliations, GST, and TDS.
• Working proficiency in MS Excel, and familiarity with an ERP or accounting systems other than Tally.
• A high degree of ownership, integrity, and attention to detail — the kind that shows up in the small things as much as the large ones.

Mactores is the agent-native AWS modernization firm. Most modernization work doesn't ship, it stalls in pilots, slips a year, or lands at three times the budget. We exist to ship it: production systems running, legacy retired, outcomes measured. Our delivery is built on Aedeon, the agent platform built by Mactores' founders' sister company, which absorbs the repetitive 60–70% of engagement work, discovery, dependency mapping, validation, test generation, that traditional consulting bills human hours against. Forward-deployed engineers own the rest: architecture, judgment, and cutover, on dates we commit to in the contract.
Mactores runs two entities, one in India and one in the US. The finance function is two people. You'll be one of them.
Accounting is outsourced today. You'll bring it in house, and you'll run it daily rather than monthly.
That daily part is the job. The books close every day, not every month. Cash position is published every day. Transactions are categorized the day they land. The founders query the ledger directly using AI tools, which means the data has to be clean continuously, not tidied up in the first week of the following month. Month end becomes a review rather than an excavation.
You'll own both entities, India and the US: daily close, cash forecasting, revenue recognition on fixed-fee SOWs, AP and AR, collections, budget versus actual on partner-funded programs, and the statutory calendar in two countries. External firms stay on to review, a CPA firm on the US side and a CA firm in India. You report to the founders. Nobody will chase you. You run it.
Working hours are 2:00 pm to 11:30 pm IST. That covers the Indian business afternoon and the US East Coast morning, so you can reach an auditor in Mumbai and a customer in New York on the same day.
What you'll do?
- Keep the books current every day in QuickBooks for the US and Zoho Books for India. Categorize transactions, clear bank feeds, and reconcile as things happen. At the end of any given day the ledger should reflect reality.
- Publish a daily cash position across both entities and both currencies, with a rolling 13-week forecast covering receivables expected in, payables and payroll going out, and statutory payments due. Founders review it weekly, which means it has to be right daily.
- Keep the ledger queryable. Consistent chart of accounts, consistent vendor and customer naming, class and location tagging by entity and business unit, nothing parked in suspense or left uncategorized. The founders ask questions of the books using AI tools, and an agent will answer confidently from bad data.
- Run budget versus actual reporting on MDF and MDF-like programs. This spend goes through a PO process rather than company cards, so you'll track each program from approved budget through PO committed, invoice received, paid, claimed, and reimbursed. Flag overspend, ineligible cost, and approaching claim deadlines before they cost us the claim.
- Chase the pieces that make that report true: PO approvals, vendor invoices, and proof-of-performance documentation from the teams running the programs. Card spend is already classified by our expense tool, so this is the part that needs a person, politely and repeatedly, without escalating each time.
- Run revenue collection. Invoice against SOW milestones, follow up by email on everything outstanding, and tell the founders what is at risk before it becomes a problem rather than after.
- Take the books in house from the current provider's team. Get the records, the portal access, and the opening balances, work out what was being done loosely, and stand up a process you would sign your name to. The provider's CA stays on as India reviewer, so you inherit the work rather than the relationship.
- Recognize revenue on fixed-fee, fixed-date SOWs. Separate assessment and POC contracts from production SOWs, track performance obligations across periods, and account for consideration that varies with delivery commitments.
- Handle the unusual streams: AWS partner economics, including marketplace disbursements, MAP funding claims, rebates and co-sell incentives, plus sales compensation accruals covering commission on collected revenue, logo-based bonuses, advances against bonus, and forfeiture conditions.
- Own the compliance calendar for both geographies, manage the external firms who review and file, reconcile intercompany monthly, and maintain transfer pricing support. You prepare, they review, nothing slips.
- Prepare and initiate payments for founder review and approval. You are the maker, a founder is the checker, and that separation stays in place as volume grows
What we're looking for?
- Chartered Accountant, India, with at least 3 years of professional experience after articleship.
- Full ownership of a close at least once, from open items through to financials someone signed off. Not one slice of a close run by somebody else.
- Follow-through as a habit rather than an intention. Most of this job is small things done on time, every time: transactions categorized the same day, receivables chased, PO documentation collected before a claim deadline. If you need someone to remind you, this is the wrong role.
- The temperament to chase people without friction. You will spend real time asking colleagues for PO paperwork and program documentation, and customers for money, and you need to get both without making enemies or escalating every instance.
- Budget versus actual reporting against a fixed program budget, with commitments tracked separately from incurred cost. If you have done restricted-fund, grant, or project accounting, that is the same shape as what we need.
- Comfort in two ledgers and two currencies, with the discipline to keep them reconciled rather than nearly reconciled.
- Judgment to work without a controller above you. You know which questions you answer, which go to the external CPA, and which go to a founder, and you escalate early rather than guessing.
- Availability for 2:00 pm to 11:30 pm IST. The late half of the day is when the US work happens, and it is not an occasional thing.
- Clear written English. You'll write collection emails to US customers, and questions to external advisors and the founders.
You'll be preferred if you
- Hold a US CPA, or are working toward it. We will sponsor the remaining exams and fees.
- Have run a daily or weekly close rather than only a monthly one, and can describe what you changed to make that sustainable.
- Have built a rolling cash forecast that someone actually made decisions from.
- Have applied ASC 606 or Ind AS 115 to services revenue, particularly fixed-fee engagements where consideration moves with delivery.
- Have worked inside a US and India two-entity structure, including intercompany and transfer pricing.
- Have handled cloud partner program accounting for AWS, Azure, or GCP, including marketplace settlements, MDF or MAP funding claims, and rebates.
- Have tracked restricted funds or grants where spend had to stay inside approved categories and be claimed before a deadline. Sector does not matter. The mechanics transfer.
- Have automated part of a close in any tool. We build agents for a living, and we would rather you script a reconciliation than repeat it forty times.
