About the role

You'll join a growing engineering team as a Lead Engineer / Architect, leading a small team in India and working closely with engineering teams in the US and Mexico. You'll be responsible for driving technical execution, solving complex engineering problems, and leading a team to build, deliver, and maintain reliable software.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone with strong backend engineering expertise who can also contribute across the stack when needed.

What you'll do

• Lead a small engineering team in India, driving day-to-day technical execution and delivery
• Work closely with teams in the US and Mexico to plan, develop, and deliver software
• Design and build robust, scalable backend systems using .NET
• Own technical decisions around architecture, implementation, and engineering best practices
• Contribute across the full stack when needed.
• Break down complex technical problems and drive them through to implementation and delivery
• Mentor engineers and help maintain a high standard of engineering quality
• Collaborate with distributed teams and communicate technical decisions clearly

What we're looking for

• 8+ years of software engineering experience, with experience in a lead-level role
• 2+ years of experience leading a team
• Strong, hands-on expertise in .NET and backend engineering
• Strong understanding of software architecture and scalable backend systems
• Full-stack experience is preferred, with React being a plus
• Experience leading a small engineering team and driving technical delivery
• Excellent communication skills, particularly when working with distributed teams
• Strong problem-solving skills and a hands-on approach to engineering
• AI expertise is a plus
• Experience with payment systems or payment-related products is a plus

Mandatory (Experience 1) – Must have minimum 8+ years of overall Software Engineering / Development experience with a strong IC foundation.

Required Skills:

• 12–18 years in the tech industry, with 2–4 years in technical leadership or managerial roles.
• Technical Expertise: Expertise in C++ development, enterprise architecture, and scalable system design, and proficiency in performance optimization, scalability, software architecture, and networking principles. Extensive experience managing the full development lifecycle of large-scale software products, from concept to deployment.
• Strong knowledge of STL containers, multi-threading concepts, and algorithms. Solid understanding of memory management and efficient resource utilization.
• Microservices Architecture Expertise: Experience in designing and implementing scalable, reliable microservices.
• Strong Communication & Decision-Making Skills: Ability to clearly articulate trade-offs, make informed decisions, and ensure alignment across stakeholders.
• Commitment to Creating and fostering Engineering Excellence: Deep understanding of best practices, including code quality, testability, security, and release management, and passion for fostering a strong engineering culture and continuously improving developer workflows and tools.

Key responsibilities:

• Technical Expertise:

○ C++ coding and debugging to strengthen and optimize systems.

○ Design and architecture (HLD/LLD) to ensure scalable and robust solutions.

○ Implementing and enhancing DevOps, Agile, and CI/CD pipelines to

improve development workflows.

○ Managing escalations and ensuring high-quality customer outcomes.

• Architecture & Design:

○ Define and refine the architectural vision and technical roadmap for enterprise

software solutions.

○ Design scalable, maintainable, and secure systems in line with business goals.

○ Collaborate with stakeholders to translate requirements into technical

• Project Management:

○ Oversee project timelines, deliverables, and quality assurance processes.

About the role

We're looking for a tech lead to set the technical direction for a growing team and raise the bar for everyone around them. This is a hands-on leadership role: you'll still write production code, but your largest impact comes through architecture, mentorship, and the standards you instill. You own outcomes for a team, not just your own commits.

• Lead the technical direction of a team building across our TypeScript/React + Node.js + AWS stack
• Drive architecture decisions, document tradeoffs, and align the team on a clear technical path Mentor engineers through code review, pairing, and guidance, growing them toward strong production ownership
• Set and uphold standards for code quality, testing, and operational rigor
• Stay hands-on: write production code on the highest-leverage and hardest problems
• Partner with product and leadership to scope work, manage technical risk, and deliver predictably
