Devops Engineer

LogiNext is looking for a technically savvy and passionate Junior DevOps Engineer to cater to the development and operations efforts in product. You will choose and deploy tools and technologies to build and support a robust and scalable infrastructure.

Knowledge in building secure, high-performing and scalable infrastructure. Experience to automate and streamline the development operations and processes. You are a master in troubleshooting and resolving issues in non-production and production environments.

Responsibilities:

Scale and optimise a variety of SQL and NoSQL databases, web servers, application frameworks, caches, and distributed messaging systems Automate the deployment and configuration of the virtualized infrastructure and the entire software stack Support several Linux servers running our SaaS platform stack on AWS, Azure, GCP Define and build processes to identify performance bottlenecks and scaling pitfalls Manage robust monitoring and alerting infrastructure Explore new tools to improve development operations

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field 0 to 1 years of experience in designing and maintaining high volume and scalable micro-services architecture on cloud infrastructure Knowledge in Linux/Unix Administration and Python/Shell Scripting Experience working with cloud platforms like AWS (EC2, ELB, S3, Auto-scaling, VPC, Lambda), GCP, Azure Knowledge in deployment automation, Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (Jenkins, Maven, Puppet, Chef, GitLab) and monitoring tools like Zabbix, Cloud Watch Monitoring, Nagios Knowledge of Java Virtual Machines, Apache Tomcat, Nginx, Apache Kafka, Microservices architecture, Caching mechanisms Experience in enterprise application development, maintenance and operations Knowledge of best practices and IT operations in an always-up, always-available service Excellent written and oral communication skills, judgment and decision-making skills

Required qualifications and must have skills  

• 5+ years of experience managing a team of 5+ infrastructure software engineers 

• 5+ years of experience in building and scaling technical infrastructure 

• 5+ years of experience in delivering software 

• Experience leading by influence in multi-team, cross-functional projects 

• Demonstrated experience recruiting and managing technical teams, including performance management and managing engineers 

• Experience with cloud service providers such as AWS, GCP, or Azure 

• Experience with containerization technologies such as Kubernetes and Docker 

Nice to have Skills   

• Experience with Hadoop, Hive and Presto 

• Application/infrastructure benchmarking and optimization 

• Familiarity with modern CI/CD practices 

• Familiarity with reliability best practices 

• Must have a minimum of 3 years of experience in managing AWS resources and automating CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong scripting skills in PowerShell, Python or Bash be able to build and administer CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of infrastructure tools like Cloud Formation, Terraform, Ansible.
• Experience with microservices and/or event-driven architecture.
• Experience using containerization technologies (Docker, ECS, Kubernetes, Mesos or Vagrant).
• Strong practical Windows and Linux system administration skills in the cloud.
• Understanding of DNS, NFS, TCP/IP and other protocols.
• Knowledge of secure SDLC, OWASP top 10 and CWE/SANS top 25.
• Deep understanding of Web Sockets and their functioning. Hands on experience of ElasticCache, Redis, ECS or EKS. Installation, configuration and management of Apache or Nginx web server, Apache/Tomcat Application Server, configure SSL certificates, setup reverse proxy.
• Exposure to RDBMS (MySQL, SQL Server, Aurora, etc.) is a plus.
• Exposure to programming languages like JAVA, PHP, SQL is a plus.
• AWS Developer or AWS SysOps Administrator certification is a plus.
• AWS Solutions Architect Certification experience is a plus.
• Experience building Blue/Green, Canary or other zero down time deployment strategies, advanced understanding of VPC, EC2 Route53 IAM, Lambda is a plus.

What your average day would look like:

• Deploy and maintain mission-critical information extraction, analysis, and management systems
• Manage low cost, scalable streaming data pipelines
• Provide direct and responsive support for urgent production issues

What you need to work with us:

• Proficiency in at least one of the general-purpose programming languages like Python, Java, etc.
• Experience in managing the IAAS and PAAS components on popular public Cloud Service Providers like AWS, Azure, GCP etc.
• Proficiency in Unix Operating systems and comfortable with Networking concepts
• Experience with developing/deploying a scalable system
