Now, we’re looking for a DevOps Engineer to help scale our infrastructure and optimize performance for millions of users. 🚀

What You’ll Do (Key Responsibilities)

🔹 CI/CD & Automation:

• Implement, manage, and optimize CI/CD pipelines using AWS CodePipeline, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins.
• Automate deployment processes to improve efficiency and reduce downtime.

🔹 Infrastructure Management:

• Use Terraform, Ansible, Chef, Puppet, or Pulumi to manage infrastructure as code.
• Deploy and maintain Dockerized applications on Kubernetes clusters for scalability.

🔹 Cloud & Security:

• Work extensively with AWS (Preferred) or other cloud platforms to build and maintain cloud infrastructure.
• Optimize cloud costs and ensure security best practices are in place.

🔹 Monitoring & Troubleshooting:

• Set up and manage monitoring tools like CloudWatch, Prometheus, Datadog, New Relic, or Grafana to track system performance and uptime.
• Proactively identify and resolve infrastructure-related issues.

🔹 Scripting & Automation:

• Use Python or Bash scripting to automate repetitive DevOps tasks.
• Build internal tools for system health monitoring, logging, and debugging.

What We’re Looking For (Must-Have Skills)

✅ Version Control: Proficiency in Git (GitLab / GitHub / Bitbucket)

✅ CI/CD Tools: Hands-on experience with AWS CodePipeline, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins

✅ Infrastructure as Code: Strong knowledge of Terraform, Ansible, Chef, or Pulumi

✅ Containerization & Orchestration: Experience with Docker & Kubernetes

IT Infrastructure & System Administration 

• Manage Windows/Linux servers, desktop systems, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and virtual environments (VMware/Hyper-V) 

• Monitor system performance and implement improvements for efficiency and availability 

• Oversee patch management, backups, disaster recovery, and security configurations 

• Ensure IT compliance, conduct audits, and maintain detailed documentation

DevOps & Cloud Operations 

• Design, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar tools 

• Manage container orchestration using Kubernetes; deploy infrastructure using Terraform 

• Administer and optimise AWS cloud infrastructure 

• Automate deployment, monitoring, and alerting solutions for production environments 

Security, Maintenance & Support 

• Define and enforce IT and DevOps security policies and procedures 

• Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for system failures and outages 

• Provide Tier 2/3 support and resolve complex system and production issues 

Collaboration & Communication 

• Coordinate IT projects (e.g., upgrades, migrations, cloud implementations) 

• Collaborate with engineering and product teams for release cycles and production deployments 

• Maintain clear communication with internal stakeholders and provide regular reporting 

Qualifications & Skills 

• Bachelor's or master’s in computer science, IT, or related field 

• 3-8 years of experience in IT systems administration and/or DevOps roles 

• Proficiency in: 

o Windows Server (2016/2019/2022), Linux systems 

o Cloud platforms (preferably AWS) o CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, etc.) 

o Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, Python/Shell scripting 

o Database management (MySQL, MongoDB) 

• Relevant certifications (e.g., MCSA, AWS, DevOps) are a plus 

• Strong knowledge of Windows Server (2016/2019/2022) and Windows operating systems. 

• Experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and other Windows-based services. 

• Familiarity with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V). 

• Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell). 

• Strong understanding of networking principles and protocols. 

• Relevant certifications (e.g., MCSA, MCSE) are a plus.

●              Find avenues to reduce infrastructure costs and drive optimization in all services.

●              5+ years of experience as a DevOps / Infrastructure engineer with cloud platforms (preferably AWS)

●              Experience with git, CI / CD, Docker, etc

●              Experience in working with infrastructure as code (Terraform, etc).

●              Strong Linux Shell scripting experience

●              Experience with one of the programming languages like Python, Java, Kotlin, etc.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• AWS Cloud Management: Design, deploy, and manage AWS cloud infrastructure. Optimize and maintain cloud resources for performance and cost efficiency. Monitor and ensure the security of cloud-based systems.
• Automated Provisioning: Develop and implement automated provisioning processes for infrastructure deployment. Utilize tools like Terraform and Packer to automate and streamline the provisioning of resources.
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Champion the use of Infrastructure as Code principles. Collaborate with development and operations teams to define and maintain IaC scripts for infrastructure deployment and configuration.
• Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and provide DevOps expertise. Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders regarding infrastructure changes, updates, and improvements.
• Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD): Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate software delivery processes. Ensure reliable and efficient deployment of applications through the development lifecycle.
• Performance Monitoring and Optimization: Implement monitoring solutions to track system performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize resource utilization. Proactively identify opportunities for system and process improvements. 

Mandatory Skills:

• Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer or similar role, with a focus on AWS.
• Strong proficiency in automated provisioning and cloud management.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools, particularly Terraform and Packer.
• Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines and version control systems.
• Strong scripting skills (e.g., Python, Bash) for automation tasks.

I would need someone with DevOps experience, to ensure that the project is undertaken with the highest standards possible. I have had many experiences where ‘completed’ software after years of development was filled with bugs and it would be more cost-effective to start from scratch than to attempt to find and correct all the bugs.

I have attempted to learn as much as possible, but I now have an opportunity and it would better serve the venture to have someone handle the management of the project to ensure that;

• We choose the most appropriate technology
• We choose competent developers in those technologies
• The architecture and data modeling are clearly defined in a ‘blueprint’ plan
• A DevOps environment and processes are set up and the developers understand what is required
• Proper tests are carried out to ensure everything works as intended
• There are processes for testers to follow and competent testers are selected to follow them
• Accessibility, localization, and internationalization are planned ahead of time
• Security, scalability, and other future probabilities that I may not even be aware of are considered and planned ahead of time
• Documentation and code reviews, refactoring and other quality assurance processes are undertaken
• Working software is produced and systems that enable new developers or teams of people to easily take over and/or contribute new modules or updates in a controlled and organized fashion
• Cost estimates or budgets/projections or use of SaaS, hosting and other 3rd party services and applications

I am more concerned with a professional and world-class organizational system than with any particular type of software been produced as the strong foundation will enable anything to be creating with efficacy and precision.
