DevOps Engineer

Job Description

We are looking for motivated IT professionals with at least one year of industry experience. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in AWS, Azure, AI, or Cloud technologies, or should be enthusiastic and ready to upskill and shift to new and emerging technologies. This role is primarily remote; however, candidates may be required to visit the office occasionally for meetings or project needs.

Key Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of experience in the IT industry
• Exposure to AWS / Azure / AI / Cloud platforms (any one or more)

Education Qualification

Core Competency:

Job Requirements:       

·        Bachelor’s degree (minimum) in Computer Science or Engineering.

·        Minimum 5 years of experience working as a senior–level Software Engineer

·        Excellent programming and debugging skills in RoR and Python

·        Experience in web development and automation

·        Experience developing on Windows and Linux systems 

Although not required, the following are a plus: 

·        Experience working with Build scripts, Shell scripts, Makefiles

·        Experience with Jenkins and other CI/CD tools

·        Knowledge of RESTful web services and docker

• Design & implement backend APIs 
• Mentor junior developers technically.
• Actively work to reduce tech debt in the backend
• Work towards more stability & scalability of the backend
• Tech stack - Java, AWS, Aurora etc. 

Eligibility

• 4-8 years of product company experience
• OOP implementation experience. Programming language does not matter. We use Java internally but have hired folks from non Java background.
• Hands on experience in SQL, Dynamo DB, Postgres etc preferred. 
• Prior experience building REST APIs
• Advanced understanding of AWS stack
• Prior knowledge of solving problems at scale.

What you will do :   

We are looking for a Technical Architect to design the structure of our IT systems and oversee programs to ensure the proper architecture is implemented.

Should have experience in data modelling, distributed system design, Microservice architecture and communications protocol and is passionate about writing code and the art of management

In this role, you should be an excellent communicator who is able to translate complex requirements into functional architecture. We'd also like you to have hands-on experience on software development and be able to manage complex programs. Overseeing development and implementation of programs. Providing technical leadership and support to software development teams. Your goal will be to ensure our internal IT framework operates properly.

Role Competencies:

• Proven work experience as a Back-end developer.
• Hands on experience with programming languages like Java/NodeJS/Golang, JavaScript, Familiarity with Git,
• Database (SQL/Mysql/NO SQL).Good to have Kafka/queuing/messaging system.
• Familiarity with front-end languages (e.g. HTML, JavaScript and CSS)
• Strong knowledge of design principles, user interfaces, web standards and usability.

Type: Individual contributor with good hands on proficiency. 

Must have

• Strong proficiency in at least one of  Java, Ruby, Python

• MUST: Using REST to make API calls.

What will you do at Tradyl:

• Build a shipping service module that is called by our website to query shipping rates from India to a destination country. Configure this to so that an Ops person can update shipping costs as and when they change. Own deployment and monitoring of this service. 
• Use Zapier to build a workflow to export a MixPanel report into a Google sheet every day.
• Change our supplier portal (built on bubble.io) to make an API call to our customer facing site, whenever a supplier modifies his profile.
• Write an alert mechanism that identifies catalogues with insufficient information and makes them non discoverable, which can run every day.
• Work with Business Team to design a workflow for product inwarding using Airtable. Write a small app within Airtable so that whenever a product is updated as “shipped” in airtable, it updates the customer facing website.
• Use an open source dashboarding framework to create a quick dashboard to track important business events.
