Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Data Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will develop systems on cloud platforms capable of processing millions of interactions daily, leveraging the latest cloud computing and machine learning technologies while creating custom in-house data solutions. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with SQL, PL/SQL, and any standard ETL tools. You must be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment and possess a strong passion for coding and problem-solving.

Required Skills and Experience

• Minimum 5 years of experience in software development.
• 3+ years of experience in data management and SQL expertise – PL/SQL, Teradata, and Snowflake experience strongly preferred.
• Expertise in big data technologies such as Hadoop, HiveQL, and Spark (Scala/Python).
• Expertise in cloud technologies – AWS (S3, Glue, Terraform, Lambda, Aurora, Redshift, EMR).
• Experience with queuing systems (e.g., SQS, Kafka) and caching systems (e.g., Ehcache, Memcached).
• Experience with container management tools (e.g., Docker Swarm, Kubernetes).
• Familiarity with data stores, including at least one of the following: Postgres, MongoDB, Cassandra, or Redis.
• Ability to create advanced visualizations and dashboards to communicate complex findings (e.g., Looker Studio, Power BI, Tableau).
• Strong skills in manipulating and transforming complex datasets for in-depth analysis.
• Technical proficiency in writing code in Python and advanced SQL queries.
• Knowledge of AI/ML infrastructure, best practices, and tools is a plus.
• Experience in analyzing and resolving code issues.
• Hands-on experience with software architecture concepts such as Separation of Concerns (SoC) and micro frontends with theme packages.
• Proficiency with the Git version control system.
• Experience with Agile development methodologies.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to learn quickly.
• Exposure to Docker and Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with AWS or other cloud platforms.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain our inhouse search and reporting platform
• Create data solutions to complement core products to improve performance and data quality
• Collaborate with the development team to design, develop, and maintain our suite of products.
• Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code, adhering to coding standards and best practices.
• Participate in code reviews and testing to ensure high-quality code.
• Troubleshoot and debug application issues as needed.
• Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in the development community.

• You will be the voice of the Enterprise customer sand help customers with issues related to the platform. You will be responsible for addressing and resolving tickets from enterprise customers while adhering to SLAs.
• You will document customer pain points to help in process improvement. You will also surface customer feedback to product and engineering teams to drive improvements in the product.
• You will explore customer data to identify trends with the objective of issue resolution.
• You will resolve customer issues through process expertise without having to escalate to higher levels of management but also understands when higher level of authorization is required.
• You will effectively interact, collaborate and network with other departments to resolve customer issues, including account management, technical support, product and engineering teams.
• You will be working in different shifts so as to ensure the client issues are addressed on time.

• 2-5 years of experience in 24x7 customer support operations.
• You have experience in B2B Software support and understanding of Saas platforms
• You have excellent communication skills, ability to identify complex customer problems.
• You possess a sense of urgency for problem resolution and knows where to go for that resolution.
• You have the eagerness for learning and staying up-to-date on new product or policy changes.
• Start-up experience would be a plus.
• You should have working knowledge about APIs and ticket management tools (such as Freshdesk, Postman, Grafana…) will be a plus or a learning mindset.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Managing available resources such as hardware, data, and personnel so that deadlines are met.
• Analyzing the ML and Deep Learning algorithms that could be used to solve a given problem and ranking them by their success probabilities
• Exploring data to gain an understanding of it, then identifying differences in data distribution that could affect performance when deploying the model in the real world
• Defining validation framework and establish a process to ensure acceptable data quality criteria are met
• Supervising the data acquisition and partnership roadmaps to create stronger product for our customers.
• Defining feature engineering process to ensure usage of meaningful features given the business constraints which may vary by market
• Device self-learning strategies through analysis of errors from the models
• Understand business issues and context, devise a framework for solving unstructured problems and articulate clear and actionable solutions underpinned by analytics.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously while demonstrating business leadership to collaborate & coordinate with different functions to deliver the solutions in a timely, efficient and effective manner.
• Manage project resources optimally to deliver projects on time; drive innovation using residual resources to create strong solution pipeline; provide direction, coaching & training, feedbacks to project team members to enhance performance, support development and encourage value aligned behaviour of the project team members; Provide inputs for periodic performance appraisal of project team members.

Preferred Technical & Professional expertise

• Undergraduate Degree in Computer Science / Engineering / Mathematics / Statistics / economics or other quantitative fields
• At least 2+ years of experience of managing Data Science projects with specializations in Machine Learning
• In-depth knowledge of cloud analytics tools.
• Able to drive Python Code optimization; ability review codes and provide inputs to improve the quality of codes
• Ability to evaluate hardware selection for running ML models for optimal performance
• Up to date with Python libraries and versions for machine learning; Extensive hands-on experience with Regressors; Experience working with data pipelines.
• Deep knowledge of math, probability, statistics and algorithms; Working knowledge of Supervised Learning, Adversarial Learning and Unsupervised learning
• Deep analytical thinking with excellent problem-solving abilities
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with a proven ability to work with all levels of management; effective interpersonal and influencing skills.
• Ability to manage a project team through effectively allocation of tasks, anticipating risks and setting realistic timelines for managing the expectations of key stakeholders
• Strong organizational skills and an ability to balance and handle multiple concurrent tasks and/or issues simultaneously.
• Ensure that the project team understand and abide by compliance framework for policies, data, systems etc. as per group, region and local standards
