
Customer Solution Engineer
at Conversational Automation & Intelligence. (E1)
- Work with customers and partners to understand, identify the issues and provide technical assistance in the setup, integrations, and usage of the company platform.
- Work with the internal engineering and business development teams, to research, solve and enable customers to their full potential.
- Talk to customers through a series of actions, either via phone, email or chat, until they’ve solved a technical issue.
- Document technical knowledge in the form of notes, manuals and FAQs.
- Ensure all customer conversations are logged. Prioritize and manage several open issues at once. Follow up with customers and other internal teams to ensure that the issues are resolved on time
- Work with the product team to identify gaps and recommend solutions for the same.
Requirements
- Up to 4 years of experience.
- An engineer with immense energy and affinity to work with customers and solve their critical issues. B.Tech, especially in Computer Science, Computer or Electrical Engineering or related fields, is highly desired.
- Experience in software development technologies. Familiarity with web technologies & scripting languages (HTML, NodeJS, Python in particular) is a strong plus.
- Ability to reason, think and identify problems and work with teams to design, estimate & deliver a solution for the same.
- Excellent communication skills (both verbal and writing) to converse with customers and the ability to capture knowledge into documentation & reference materials.
- A persistent learner with the ability to constantly learn and grow with the team

About Role:
The Senior Python Developer will lead the design and implementation of ACL crawler connectors for Workato’s search platform. This role requires deep expertise in building scalable Python services, integrating with various SaaS APIs and designing robust data models. The developer will mentor junior team members and ensure that the solutions meet the technical and performance requirements outlined in the Statement of Work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Architecture and design: Translate business requirements into technical designs for ACL crawler connectors. Define data models, API interactions and modular components using the Workato SDK.
- Implementation: Build Python services to authenticate, enumerate domain entities and extract ACL information from OneDrive, ServiceNow, HubSpot and GitHub. Implement incremental sync, pagination, concurrency and caching.
- Performance optimisation: Profile code, parallelise API calls and utilise asynchronous programming to meet crawl time SLAs. Implement retry logic and error handling for network‑bound operations.
- Testing and code quality: Develop unit and integration tests, perform code reviews and enforce best practices (type hints, linting). Produce performance reports and documentation.
- Mentoring and collaboration: Guide junior developers, collaborate with QA, DevOps and product teams, and participate in design reviews and sprint planning.
- Hypercare support: Provide Level 2/3 support during the initial rollout, troubleshoot issues, implement minor enhancements and deliver knowledge transfer sessions.
Must Have Skills and Experiences:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
- 3-8 years of Python development experience, including asynchronous programming and API integration.
- Knowledge of python libraries-pandas,pytest,requests,asyncio
- Strong understanding of authentication protocols (OAuth 2.0, API keys) and access‑control models.
- Experience with integration with cloud or SaaS platforms such as Microsoft Graph, ServiceNow REST API, HubSpot API, GitHub API.
- Proven ability to lead projects and mentor other engineers.

Will they work alone or in a team?
- In some spots they might be expected to work alone and on a separate sprint from others, however, everything needs to tie in and work together, because of that the developer must be team oriented in both development and problem solving.
- Additionally, there will be times that they should expect to work with people who are not particularly tech savvy ( ie. sales, marketing, customer success etc.) to collaborate on a specific feature to produce the best thing for the product.
Accountability
- The developer is both accountable for their code and the code of the team. They should take care and responsibility in the work that is done and if there are problems with the code in QA or production work as diligently as possible to fix that problem ( whether it is their code directly or not).
- As part of this all code will be attached from Github to Jira for developers to constantly upload their commits to Jira tasks
- A mistake is completely fine and expected, bugs are to be expected. What is asked is that you report it as soon as possible and are honest about it so that we can move forward in resolving it as soon as possible.

- The end user of our product will be marketing professionals/head of marketing. At all times the developers need to take this into account and spend time thinking of the ease and the use cases that people will utilize their code or features in real life versus what is a way to make something work but in a vacuum.

- Pushing out code is awesome, but if the code has a ton of bugs and does not do the required action that is practical for the user then it does not matter. We want a developer who is Quality focused and also hold their other developers accountable.

- When producing a feature it is easy to sometime get sucked into how that features works in a vacuum. The developers need to be able to work together and understand the software architecture as a whole in order to make whatever feature they are working on be able to work with the other features that are built within the app ( and will be built or are on the roadmap for the future).
