Pibit is a Y Combinator-backed, insurtech startup co-founded by IIT Roorkee alumni, focused on transforming the underwriting landscape with Generative AI. Our SaaS offering helps insurance companies in the US make smarter, faster decisions by leveraging advanced AI to optimize underwriting processes, reduce risk, and improve premiums. As we continue to expand, we're looking for an ambitious, results-driven SDE2 to join our Engineering team.

Position Overview:

We are looking for a seasoned Backend Developer with a strong background in building scalable SaaS applications and expertise in AWS cloud infrastructure. This is an onsite role where you'll take ownership of the entire product lifecycle, contribute to system design, mentor team members, and thrive in a dynamic startup environment.

Key Responsibilities

Code Quality and Development:

• Develop and maintain high-quality, scalable, and maintainable codebases.
• Establish and enforce coding standards, perform code reviews, and ensure adherence to best practices.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production bugs efficiently.

System Design:

• Lead and contribute to Low-Level Design (LLD) and High-Level Design (HLD) for complex system architectures.
• Drive technical discussions to define the technical roadmap for the product.

API Integration:

• Design, develop, and integrate APIs to ensure seamless functionality with third-party systems.
• Ensure security, scalability, and performance in API implementations.

AWS Expertise:

• Manage and optimize cloud infrastructure on AWS.
• Implement robust CI/CD pipelines and monitor systems using AWS services.

Mentorship and Team Collaboration:

• Mentor interns and freshers to build their technical capabilities and confidence.

Ownership and Management:

• Take full ownership of the product lifecycle, from ideation to deployment.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of business goals with technical deliverables.
• Exhibit a proactive, managerial ownership attitude in delivering results.

Startup Journey:

• Be an integral part of scaling products from 1 to 10, contributing to product-market fit and growth strategies.
• Adapt and thrive in fast-paced, dynamic startup environments.

What We're Looking For

Must-Have:

• Strong proficiency in Python with hands-on experience of 2+ years in building SaaS applications.
• In-depth knowledge of AWS services and cloud infrastructure with hands-on experience of 1+ years.
• Expertise in LLD and HLD for designing scalable and reliable systems with hands-on experience of 2+ years.
• Proven track record of API integration and troubleshooting production bugs.
• Understanding of frontend-backend integration for delivering seamless user experiences.

Good-to-Have:

• Experience in managing code quality, performing reviews, and adhering to development best practices with hands-on experience of 1+ years.
• Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and microservices architecture.
• Exposure to observability tools for performance monitoring and debugging.
• Basic to intermediate knowledge of frontend development, with experience in JavaScript frameworks like React.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month Along with Incentives.

• Build and manage productive, professional relationships with clients

This position is for a tester with strong coding skills who likes challenges - someone who is constantly striving for excellence in software test automation.
Responsibilities include:

• Develop automated test cases on a day-to-day basis
• Gather and prioritize user requirements, feed these requirements into overall Automation Framework requirements and test plans
• Train team members on tool use and test automation tools, practices, techniques and best practices
• Communicate cross-functionally throughout the engineering organization
• Continuously monitor and boost test coverage across the product

Minimum Job Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or better in CS or related field, with 5+ years experience in software test.
• Exposure to best practices in SQA  including code reviews, debugging, troubleshooting and CI processes
• Experience in front-end (UI/Web) automation using Java ,Appium or any other app automation testing tool  or Experience in backend Testing using Java, API-Testing,Rest assured ,and Performance testing using Jmeter
• Excellent communications and technical presentation skills
• Initiative to research and build solutions to tough problems in domains like Flash, OpenGL, WebGL where off-the-shelf automation tools might not be available
• Some experience/comfort with working in a Linux/Unix environment
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, troubleshooting skills.

Preferred (Bonus) Qualifications:

• Knowledge of current build and test automation tools and processes, such as JUnit/TestNG, Maven, Jenkins, Mockito, JBehave, Git, etc
• Experience with whitebox testing, code reviews, SDK testing
• Experience with performance testing, stress testing, and advanced aspects of system testing automation.
• Knowledge of at least one scripting language (Python, Bash, Ruby or comparable).
