Devops Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive DevOps Engineer with 4+ years of experience to join our dynamic team. This role requires strong technical expertise across cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, container orchestration, and infrastructure as code (IaC). The ideal candidate should also have direct client-facing experience and a proactive approach to managing both internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external clients to understand infrastructure requirements and implement DevOps best practices.
• Design, build, and maintain scalable cloud infrastructure on AWS (EC2, S3, RDS, ECS, etc.).
• Develop and manage infrastructure using Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Manage and orchestrate containers using Docker and Kubernetes (EKS).
• Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins or GitHub Actions.
• Write robust automation scripts using Python and Shell scripting.
• Monitor system performance and availability, and ensure high uptime and reliability.
• Execute and optimize SQL queries for MSSQL and PostgreSQL databases.
• Maintain clear documentation and provide technical support to stakeholders and clients.

Required Skills:

• Minimum 4+ years of experience in a DevOps or related role.
• Proven experience in client-facing engagements and communication.
• Strong knowledge of AWS services – EC2, S3, RDS, ECS, etc.
• Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes (EKS).
• Strong experience in setting up and maintaining CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins or GitHub.
• Solid understanding of SQL and working experience with MSSQL and PostgreSQL.

Preferred Qualifications:

AWS Certifications (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer) are a plus.

Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.

• Candidate should have good Platform experience on Azure with Terraform. 
• The devops engineer needs to help developers, create the Pipelines and K8s Deployment Manifests. 
• Good to have experience on migrating data from (AWS) to Azure. 

• To manage/automate infrastructure automatically using Terraforms. Jenkins is the key CI/CD tool which we uses and it will be used to run these Terraforms. 
• VMs to be provisioned on Azure Cloud and managed. 
• Good hands-on experience of Networking on Cloud is required. 
• Ability to setup Database on VM as well as managed DB and Proper set up of cloud hosted microservices needs to be done to communicate with the db services. 
• Kubernetes, Storage, KeyValult, Networking (load balancing and routing) and VMs are the key infrastructure expertise which are essential. 

• Requirement is to administer Kubernetes cluster end to end. (Application deployment, managing namespaces, load balancing, policy setup, using blue green/canary deployment models etc). 
• The experience in AWS is desirable. 
• Python experience is optional however Power shell is mandatory. 
• Know-how on the use of GitHub 
• Administration of Azure Kubernetes services 

Title: Cloud DevOps Engineer 

Role: Individual Contributor (4-8 yrs)  

Requirements: 

• Energetic self-starter, a fast learner, with a desire to work in a startup environment  
• Experience working with Public Clouds like AWS 

• Operating and Monitoring cloud infrastructure on AWS. 
• Primary focus on building, implementing and managing operational support 
• Design, Develop and Troubleshoot Automation scripts (Configuration/Infrastructure as code or others) for Managing Infrastructure. 
• Expert at one of the scripting languages – Python, shell, etc  
• Experience with Nginx/HAProxy, ELK Stack, Ansible, Terraform, Prometheus-Grafana stack, etc 

• Handling load monitoring, capacity planning, and services monitoring. 
• Proven experience With CICD Pipelines and Handling Database Upgrade Related Issues. 
• Good Understanding and experience in working with Containerized environments like Kubernetes and Datastores like Cassandra, Elasticsearch, MongoDB, etc

• Proficient in Linux Commands line and troubleshooting.
• Proficient in AWS Services. Deployment, Monitoring and troubleshooting applications in AWS.
• Hands-on experience with CI tooling preferably with Jenkins.

Specific responsibilities commensurate with experience and include:

• Ability to react quickly and effectively to identify and resolve issues that heavily impact CI/CD system (immediate mitigation of impact, long-term resolution including strategies for risk mitigation/monitoring/alert for proactive resolution of potential future occurrences)
• Design, develop, unit test, and implement build automation scripts including environment configuration validation processes
• Automate and improve development process by evaluation and introduction of new tools and scripts, and manage their life cycle and validation
• Determine branching strategy and maintain branches for various components, products, and product lines
• Come up with solutions to open-ended problems that focus on workflow improvements for the Software department
• Address issues with well-defined requirements efficiently; come up with short-term and long-term solutions and staged deployment strategies
• Self-driven-- takes action to move tickets from start to completion with minimal oversight
• Ability to communicate with and consider perspectives of stakeholders including but not limited to: IT, software development, verification
• Ability to break down a problem into smaller components and solve them in a logical, controlled, clearly explainable approach

• Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent
• 6+ years (minimum) experience handling Build, Release, and Deployment of software on Windows and/or Linux environments (on-premise)
• Experience with the development and deployment of CM processes and tools
• Build automation for .NET using TeamCity (Jenkins is an asset)
• Scripting languages: Windows batch scripting, Powershell, Ant/NAnt
• Source control systems usage, branching strategies, and workflow (Git preferred, Subversion)
• 6+ years of hands-on programming experience with C# and .NET (both Framework and Core)
• Troubleshooting and debugging-- what information to gather when there are issues with CI/CD system, and how to gather it (i.e., analyzing network communication? Windows crash dumps, java logs, etc.)
• 6+ years (minimum) in web/desktop application software development experience
• Excellent problem solving, critical and analytical thinking
• Strong team player who understands SDLC and QA methodologies
• A professional, results-oriented individual with a high degree of self-motivation
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to coordinate work/activities with multiple software/IT teams
• Working with virtual machines and build management on virtual machines (VMware preferred).
• Managing configurations for multiple build environments
• OS administration and scripting experience (Windows is a must, Linux desired)
• Experience with test automation tools (NUnit, customer inhouse frameworks) and strategies is an asset
• Creation and maintenance of monitoring and alert systems (Zabbix)
• Familiarity with databases (SQL-based) - create, modify, optimize (via script)
