We are seeking a WordPress Estimation Specialist who can combine strong technical expertise with business understanding to support accurate project estimation and manpower planning.

Role Overview

The role involves evaluating client requirements, preparing project scopes, and generating accurate time and cost estimations. The specialist should be well-versed in WordPress development, feasibility analysis, technical solutioning, and staffing models including project-based, hourly, and FTE structures. The individual will work closely with Sales, PMs, and Technical Leads to ensure that all estimates are feasible, profitable, and aligned with delivery capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

Analyze briefs, RFPs, wireframes, and functional documents to define clear scopes.

Prepare time, effort, and cost estimations for WordPress websites, custom plugins, WooCommerce, and API integrations.

Break down complex features into structured modules and deliverables.

Build and assess manpower plans for project-based, retainer, and FTE/dedicated developer models.

Recommend appropriate technical approaches, plugins, hosting, and architecture.

Collaborate with Sales and Delivery teams, join client calls for technical clarity, and support proposal creation.

Prepare SOWs, BRDs, technical specs, and maintain estimation templates.

Ensure all estimates support profitability and delivery efficiency.

Required Skills & Experience

4–8 years of experience in WordPress development & estimation.

Strong knowledge of themes, page builders (Elementor, WPBakery, Gutenberg), ACF, WooCommerce, and custom coding.

Ability to estimate custom development, integrations, and complex features.

Experience in IT services, digital agencies, or outsourcing environments.

Understanding of manpower billing, retainers, and FTE/dedicated staffing models.

Strong analytical, communication, and documentation skills.

Good to Have

Experience reviewing Figma/XD files for estimation.

Familiarity with Agile estimation methods.

Understanding of multisite, membership, and SaaS-like WordPress structures.

Ability to support pre-sales demos and technical discussions.

● Hands-on development with both front-end, middle-tier and back-end programming.

● Leverage the DevOps team to ensure products can be built, deployed and tested across all of the release cycles from dev to production.

● Experience developing macOS, iOS applications using Swift

● Experience releasing successful iOS applications on Apple App Store and Google Play.

● Excellent knowledge of the iOS ecosystem, including third-party libraries.

● Hands-on experience with Swift in a professional environment.

● Excellent understanding of Swift, Android UI design patterns and Material UI guidelines.

● Experience integrating Mobile Apps with back end Web Services (REST)

● Knowledge of the functional and asynchronous concepts in Swift language and asynchronous computing concepts.

● Knowledge of alternative Mobile App frameworks, tools and technologies such as Jenkins Continuous Integration Server, Git, and Maven.

● Proficiency in Java, Objective-C desirable but not required.

You have:

• Experience in recruiting, motivating, managing and retaining a high performing software engineering team that evolves and improves its knowledge over time
• Understanding of quality processes required to ensure delivery of best possible software products every release
• Hands-on development experience and ability to lead your team at a code / architecture level 
• Experience with react , Kotlin and optionally swift.
• A solid grasp of Agile software development and deployment lifecycle on multiple consumer devices, cloud services and physical servers in data centers
• Experience with Git based source code management, Continuous Integration and JIRA configuration / task management 
• Good understanding of latest internet technology stacks on both client and server side
• Good understanding of tools / best practices for integration, security, scalability, high availability, performance, monitoring, logging and error handling
• Good understanding of digital media domain systems including one or more of the following: video workflow, video delivery, DRM, content management, ecommerce,  payments, data analytics and consumer device platforms
• 3 or more years of experience of managing software engineering teams
• 6 or more years of hands on enterprise / service provider grade development experience

About the role :

This is a senior staff backend engineer role in the engineering team that designs, implements and maintains our state of the art product IllusionBLACK. The team is responsible for designing and implementing secure, highly performant and maintainable product.

Responsibilities:

• Architect, develop and maintain high performance, fault tolerant and scalable cloud hosted service using NodeJS
• End to end responsibility to continuously create and monitor the services you build
• Help design reusable and clean API's for our frontend React app
• Guide team members with handling complex issues
• You will also be responsible for database schema design and development of migration scripts
• Experiment with new technologies and ideas and help shape our stack and processes

Requirement:

• 10+ years professional SW development experience
• All our production applications are built with either Typescript or Python. You must have a strong understanding of NodeJS express apps written in Typescript and ES6
• Must have good experience with Python
• Solid experience with databases is a must. We use and love Postgres here at Smokescreen
• You should be able to design a complex database SQL schema normalized to 3NF on the back of a napkin at 3am in the morning
• Deep understanding and working knowledge of Redis cache
• Experience with Solr or Elasticsearch is a must. We use Solr for our event analytics exclusively
• Experience with AWS, Azure or GCP is a plus. We have a large distributed application running on AWS
• Experience with Docker/Swarm is a plus
• Experience in some stream processing platforms like Kafka/Redis stream is a plus

• 5+ years of working experience in the technologies like Angular6 or higher, NodeJS & MySQL, AWS Cloud Services
• Strong Hands-on with any Enterprise Programming Language (Python/.Net) in past
• Experience with architecting, designing, and debugging MEAN, full-stack based enterprise software
• Should have expertise in designing relational database tables & writing SQL Queries, Stored Procedures, and Functions.
