About the job

• Design and implement robust backend systems and APIs using Java or similar backend language and Spring Boot or equivalent frameworks
• Integrate backend services with existing custom ERP systems 
• Work closely with the founder on product architecture, feature prioritization, and go-to-market feedback
• Take full ownership of features — from system design and development to deployment and iterative improvements
• Help shape our engineering culture and technical foundations

You're a Great Fit If You:

• Have 3+ years of experience in backend development

What you’ll do:

• Work alongside Software Engineers to develop cool new features and enhancements in our platform services space that will delight our customers • Participate in elaboration and design sessions to understand and refine requirements to be implemented • Build unit tests and automation test suites to ensure our products deliver the highest quality • Collaborate with scrum team members during sprint planning and daily standups and share your accomplishments during sprint reviews • Provide constructive and honest feedback during code reviews and sprint retrospectives • Work with Enterprise Architects to design our services

What you’ll need:

• 8+ years full-stack software development experience, ideally in a SaaS or micro service-based system • Experience with our technology stack: .NET, C#, SQL, React, Web APIs and entity framework; AWS preferred • Exposure to design principles such as: SOLID/DRY design, Objectoriented design patterns, N-Tier software architecture, threading and synchronization, relational database design, etc. • A passion for problem solving and innovation with the desire to learn and grow • Ability to work well in a remote team environment and attitude to focus on team specific goals and objectives • Ability to drive results through your job competencies of collaboration, software programming and development, and technical problem solving • Ability to drive results through NAVEX core competencies of accountability, customer focus, drives results and instills trust

Your Role:

As a Video Editor at Mugafi, you’ll work on a variety of projects that span across multiple formats and platforms, including:

• Short Films & Storytelling Content: Bring narratives to life with high-quality editing that captures the essence of our storytelling platform.
• AI Collaboration Projects: Leverage cutting-edge tools like Midjourney, Stable Diffusion, and Runway ML to create visuals that break new ground.
• Social Media Videos & Ads: Create attention-grabbing content that connects with our online community and showcases Mugafi’s offerings.
• Interviews & Events: Edit videos for our platform that highlight key moments from our events, interviews and others.
• Tutorials & Character Generation Videos: Produce product related engaging, informative content for our users and partners.

What You’ll Bring:

• Experience: Proven experience of 3 years in video creation and editing.

• Video Editing Mastery: Advanced skills in video editing software, including Premiere Pro, After Effects, and other AI-powered tools.

Responsibilities 

• Collaborate with the core team building a state-of-the-art blockchain based SaaS platform. 
• Building mobile applications using latest technologies leveraging Android, node and mongo. 
• Apply comprehensive knowledge and a thorough understanding of concepts, principles, and technical capabilities to perform varied tasks and projects. 
• Backend RESTful API Design and server-side development for web and mobile apps. 
• Develop and design database schemas on MongoDB. 
• Perform code reviews and unit tests to ensure code consistency and maintainability. 

Minimum Qualifications & Qualities 

• Passion to solve complex problems of agriculture in a dynamic start-up environment

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

Preferred Qualifications 

• Strong programming experience of 1+ years with Android, Node.js, Express.js, MongoDB. 
• Strong problem solving/troubleshooting skills. 
• Experience with SDLC in an Agile work environment using tools like Jira and GitHub. 
• Knowledge and experience of NoSQL Databases is a must. 

• Knowledge of AWS Services like ECS, EKS, EC2, S3, Lambda, Load Balancing, Route 53, API Gateway along with Infrastructure provisioning and optimization is an advantage.
• Experience with DevOps, CI/CD pipelines on Jenkins, GitHub Actions,
• Experience with containerization environments like Docker & Kubernetes is an advantage. 
• Familiar with TDD, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code
• Knowledge of any Blockchain protocols like Hyperledger is clearly an undue advantage
