Job Title: Senior Java Developer – Multi-SaaS / Microservices / Pub-Sub

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Java Developer with strong leadership abilities to join our team. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Java, micro services architecture, multi-tenant SaaS systems, pub/sub messaging, and cloud-based deployments on AWS EKS. This role requires not only technical mastery but also the ability to mentor teams, influence architecture decisions, and ensure best practices through Test-Driven Development (TDD).

Key Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of Java-based multi-tenant SaaS applications using microservices architecture.
• Implement pub/sub messaging systems for event-driven communication.
• Deploy, monitor, and optimize services on AWS EKS.
• Ensure system reliability, scalability, and security using AWS CloudWatch and other observability tools.
• Apply TDD principles to drive high-quality, maintainable code.
• Collaborate with product managers, architects, and other developers to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Lead code reviews, mentor junior engineers, and promote engineering best practices.
• Take ownership of end-to-end delivery, from architecture design to production rollout.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Proficiency in Java with 6+ years of professional development experience.
• Strong background in microservices architecture and multi-tenant SaaS systems.
• Expertise in pub/sub messaging patterns (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ, or AWS SNS/SQS).
• Hands-on experience with AWS EKS and container orchestration (Kubernetes).
• Strong understanding of monitoring and logging using AWS CloudWatch or similar tools.
• Proven experience applying Test-Driven Development (TDD) in real-world projects.
• Demonstrated leadership skills – mentoring, decision-making, and driving engineering excellence.
• Solid understanding of software engineering best practices, CI/CD, and version control (Git).

Requirements:

Experience - 2 to 5 years experience in Java Tech stack

• Strong hands-on experience in Java, Spring Boot, microservices and Rest API.
• Good understanding of general data privacy and information security.
• Exposure to cloud securities for SAAS application development would be an added advantage.
• A good understanding of all facets of building and delivering data-centric products is desirable.
• Knowledge of code versioning tools.

• HTML/CSS/ES6 Javascript, Java 8 and any Java based web framework
• Adobe experience Manager (AEM) Apache Sling, JCR, OSGI
• Good knowledge in Apache Sling framework
• Good knowledge in Java content repository API
• Good knowledge in Apache Jack rabbbit framework
• Knowledge of OSGI and Declarative Services
• Strong understanding of REST Principles and Hands on experience REST based API  development
•  Knowledge of Patterns and good practices to design and develop quality and clean code

About the Tech

Technology and our people is what makes Tide possible. The nature of our business naturally fits with relational databases, but we have also found some use cases for NoSQL.

Our frontends have done an incredible job at consuming our APIs and providing the best UX to our members. They are fully native Android and iOS apps or Angular 2+ web apps. DevOps provides vital infrastructure and operations support.

The non-negotiables:

• Good commercial experience building server-side applications and detailed knowledge of the relevant programming languages for your stack (i.e Java 8 or newer).
• Sound knowledge of a Java backend framework (e.g. Spring/Spring Boot).
• Exposure to microservices and implementing and consuming RESTful APIs.
• A mindset of delivering secure, well-tested and well-documented software.
• Experience with relational databases.

The highly desirables:

• Exposure to continuous integration, delivery and deployment.
• Some experience integrating to third parties.

• Assist in producing solutions with threat assessments and associated security awareness.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

• 5- 8 years of hands-on experience designing and developing microservices using either Java/Spring Boot
• 3-5 years of experience with system integration
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience with API concepts and technologies such as REST, JSON, XML, SOAP, YAML, GraphQL, and Swagger
• Experience developing within agile methodology using CI/CD pipeline
• Experienced in 3-tier, n-tier, cloud computing, microservices architectures and SOA.
• Good knowledge of integration architectures
• Experience supporting and/or implementing complex integration projects
• Excellent client management skills
• Experience with Data modelling would be an asset
