Position Summary:

As an early contributor, you’ll have a major impact on the direction of our order fulfillment platform. We match

merchants to warehouses in different geographic locations, helping small and medium businesses to compete in a world

with expectations of 2-day delivery. We have an MVP in production, and now we’re looking to add enhancements while

addressing performance, scalability, and maintainability challenges. To do this, we need a reliable, automated testing

program that will enable us to rapidly deliver new code to production with confidence.

We are looking for an experienced SDET who will join our team of SDETs to empower our development teams to move

faster and with greater confidence and to help free our QA engineers to have more time for exploratory testing.

Required Qualifications -

● 5+ years of software development experience for web, mobile or enterprise systems

● Development experience in one or more languages commonly used for testing (JavaScript, Ruby, Java/Groovy,

Python)

● Experience with browser-driven acceptance/system testing using tools/frameworks such as WebDriverIO,

NightwatchJS, Cypress, Puppeteer, Protractor, etc.....

● Strong familiarity with JavaScript HTML, CSS.

● Experience testing REST APIs using tools/frameworks such as Axios, etc...

Preferred Qualifications:

● Experience with git version control

● Experience working with Nightwatchjs UI framework

● Experience working with Ava/Axios API framework

● Experience working in a cloud environment

● Experience with Docker and/or container orchestrators (Kubernetes, Nomad, Mesos, etc.)

● Experience working in a CI/CD environment (such as circlici)

● Experience with database queries

Job Description:

Distacart is seeking a Senior QA Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining infrastructure, tests, and automation for our e-commerce platform.

Qualifications.

1.     B. Tech /B.E/ M.Tech with CS/IT with 60% Mandate.

Responsibilities:

1. Design, develop, and maintain test automation infrastructure and frameworks.
2. Develop and execute manual and automated tests to ensure the quality of our e-commerce platform.
3. Work with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and identify potential issues.
4. Participate in code reviews to ensure that quality standards are met.
5. Investigate, reproduce, and report defects in a timely manner.
6. Continuously improve our testing processes and practices.

Requirements:

1. Experience with test automation tools and frameworks
2. Experience in building test infra to support automation
3. Experience in building mobile browsing test infra using selenium browser stack/ lambda test/ jenkins.
4. Strong programming skills, preferably in Python
5. Experience with Selenium or similar web automation tools
6. Familiarity with RESTful web services and API testing
7. Experience with Git and continuous integration tools
8. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
9. Proven ability to work independently and in a team environment.
10. Experience with e-commerce platforms is a plus.

 • Thought leadership - Consult with the client and setup/guides a team to strategize, design, implement and run automation solution supporting variety of applications

• Technical leadership - Identify, evaluate, recommend, and optimize current automated testing processes and tools

• Define and implement test automation strategy including roadmap, tools, framework, and approach across project teams

• Oversee technological delivery of the recommended automation solution roadmap across project teams

• setting up end to end QA processes across Requirement Analysis, Test Strategy/Design and Test reporting

• Participate in design and architectural reviews of proposed automation solutions across project teams

 • Designing & implementing enterprise-wide QA strategy for variety of clients including complex applications across multiple tech stacks (involving both functional and automation testing)

• Planning, estimating (should be aware of robust models and how to use them) and tracking team’s work

• Status reporting: Track and report upon testing activities, including testing results, test case coverage, required resources, defects discovered and their status etc.

• Mentors/guides the team on technical knowhow

• Adhere to company project standards and guidelines Mandatory Skills & Experience

• 7-11 years of managing team experience and at least 4+ years of in-depth experience in establishing test automation frameworks, evaluating tools, and implementing continuous testing strategy

• Hands on framework development for a Green Field Project

• Strong hands-on experience in Java/JavaScript programming languages; java collection frameworks • Strong experience on QA Automation tools such as Selenium/Cucumber/Appium/SOAPUI etc.

• Strong exposure on UI or API automation, hands on Webservices/Microservices automation

 • Experience in CI/CD tools, such as Gitlab(preferable) / Jenkins

• Experience in Cloud tech preferably AWS

• Experience on Cloud Platforms such as Sauce Labs, Perfecto

• Functional tools like Selenium (mandate), Web driver IO, NightWatchJS, etc

• Should have basic knowledge of JMeter or any other equivalent Performance testing tool

• Sound Knowledge of methodologies and approaches such as Agile, BDD, DevOps etc.

• Industry experience on Financial Services is preferred.
