Design and build advanced applications for the Android platform Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features. Work with outside data sources and API's. Unit-test code for robustness, including edge cases, usability, and general reliability. Work on bug fixing and improving application performance. Continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies to maximize development efficiency.

At least 5+ Yrs of experience of Android Java and Kotlin programming application development,
Experience of design and development of Enterprise grade Mobile application
Hands on experience in performance tuning, debugging, monitoring
Experience designing clean and maintainable APIs
Experience with multithreaded programming, reusable frameworks, UI components, Android Jetpacks
tools and optimization techniques
REST API based web service and other system integration, web service integration,
Preferably have working experience of technologies like webRTC, ReactJS, NodeJS, JSON, Other hybrid
application development platform
Previous experience of developing VoIP based solution, live streaming/video calling based application
Nice to have: experience on Server side technologies like: J2EE, PHP. RDBMS knowledge on
MySQL/Oracle; Other associated technologies like: Git, JIRA, AWS technologies, Linux; Agile development
methodologies; Design Patterns like: MVC, MVVM ; Knowledge on various Security standards
DevOps understanding is a plus.
Previous experience of working in Product/Solution development or Start-ups will be added advantage

We are looking for a full time/part time Android developer for our apps. Good knowledge and experience of developing apps, integration of thrid party libraries like Analytics, Ads etc. is required. Good hold on UI and design elements is a plus.

Requirements:

• Engineers with 1-6 years of experience in shipping consumer-facing Android apps with the large user base, ideally currently available on the Google Play Store

• Top-notch programming skills in Java, Kotlin and Android along with MVVM, Dagger2, Room, LiveData, Coroutine & JetPack-Components

What will I do? You will work as an Senior Software Engineer for the Android app in the Consumer team. The consumer mobile apps are the primary way that our customers regularly interact with Shuttl for finding routes and booking their rides. You will report into the Team Lead for the Consumer team. Your team mates will be other Android, iOS and backend engineers. As a senior software engineer at Shuttl you are responsible for developing new features and maintaining existing ones, contributing to architecture and code design as well as coaching and training of junior software engineers. How do we work? Our engineering process is a five step process which consists of phases for planning, developing, testing & profiling, releasing and monitoring. The planning phase consists of documenting of the feature/task to be done followed by various discussions. These discussions cover product, delivery estimates, release plan, monitoring plan, test plans, architecture, code design, technology choices and best practice adoption. The development and testing phase coexist and involve writing code, unit tests, performance tests, profiling, stress testing, code reviews and QA testing. This phase is punctuated with daily scrums and standups. The release phase is largely about managing and communicating the release to customers and internal stakeholders and activating features. The last phase is the monitoring phase where relevant metrics and exceptions are tracked and any critical refinement for the delivered feature is undertaken. This phase culminates with a retrospective. What skills should I have? For this role we expect you to have 3-5 years of experience in Android application development primarily using Java. You should have strong knowledge of Android SDK & Runtime Environments, Location services, Google Maps and other Android support libraries. You should be well acquainted with Android Studio and various profilers. Working knowledge of Reactive programming and Kotlin is huge plus. You should be knowledgeable about programming languages, operating systems, networks, databases and SQL, algorithms, architecture, code design and design patterns.
