PRINCIPAL ENGINEER – JOB DESCRIPTION

It is a YCombinator, Sequoia Capital and GFC funded start-up building digital solutions for women with chronic health conditions in India. We are the leading player in treating PCOS, a chronic condition that
affects 100 million women in India alone. Healthcare is one of the fastest growing industries globally and desperately needs disruption in women’s health. Our vision is to be the first and only digital solution women turn to for healthcare needs throughout their lifeime.

What you’ll do:
As our Principal Engineer, you will drive 0-to-1 innovation at a fast-growing digital health start-up to transform the lives of hundreds of millions of women living with chronic conditions. In the future, this role will grow into a Chief Technology Officer (CTO) position as we expand further into the multi-billion-dollar undisrupted market that is women’s health. You will work with a world-class team (McKinsey, UnitedHealth, ex-IIT, Wharton) and pedigreed investors to directly shape our engineering culture from the ground up. You will drive innovation across our consumer and doctor-facing products (app + website + backend) while leading & building out a high-performing engineering team.

Qualifications:
• 2+ years of professional experience working with React Native.
• 2+ years of professional experience working with NodeJS.
• 4+ years of professional software development experience.
• Experience working with Typescript required.
• Experience working with Swift, Objective C, and Java a plus but not required.
• Ability to take extreme ownership over your work. Every day is a challenge to ensure you are performing to the expectations you and your team have agreed upon, both in regards to estimates and to the
general process.
• Ability to identify with the goals of Veera Health's customers and dedicate yourself to delivering on the commitments you and your team make to them.
• An understanding of React Native best practices and a commitment to following them.
Ability to create and maintain continuous integration and delivery of React Native applications.
• Communication skills (ability to effectively communicate via written and spoken English).

Responsibilities:
• Work as part of a team to build React Native iOS / Android applications for Veera Health's customers.
• Demonstrated collaboration and interpersonal skills to work across multiple levels, ranging from being in the trenches with our care operations team to working with the Founders.
• Architect, build and maintain excellent React Native applications with clean code.
• Implement pixel perfect UI's that match designs.
• Implement clean, modern,smooth animations and transitionsthat provide an excellent user experience.
• Integrate third-party API's.
• Write unit and integration tests.
• Release applications to the Apple and Google Play stores.
• Work with native modules when required.
• Work with modern tools including Linear, Slack, GitHub, Notion, etc

Responsibilities :

- Perform market research and competitive analysis

- Understand user needs, pain points & behaviour

- Develop & drive product direction and strategy

- Own the product roadmap, milestones and KPIs

- Collect & gather the requirements from different stakeholders to write PRDs & User

Stories.

- Define Acceptance Criteria & KPIs for each product feature

- Preparing Wireframes to explain the feature requirements to UI/UX Team

- Managing & Planning Sprints, Backlog & UAT

- Oversee product execution from inception to delivery

- Define and execute go-to-market plans /strategies along with marketing team

- Work with design, engineering, operations & marketing teams to set priorities & achieve the product and business goals

- Own the product tracking & analytics to gain insights for product iteration

Required Experience and Skills:
 Bachelor's degree in Information Security, Computer Science or Engineering
 Minimum of 3 years in security engineering
 Knowledge in cloud ecosystems security - Amazon AWS, Microsoft O365
 Ability to work well in an international team (US or EU time zone)
 English spoken and written on at least B2 level
 Understanding of security monitoring and identification concepts
 Assessing and understanding the impact, severity and urgency of issues
 Cybersecurity Certifications an advantage but not essential: CEH, C|HFI, CISSP, CISA, CISM
 Expertise across a variety of security products including those listed in requirements above

What you will do:

• Creating and maintaining digital assets, such as interface design files, wireframes, and interactive mockups using design and prototyping tools: e.g., Sketch and InVision
• Designing, building and maintaining highly reusable JavaScript, HTML and CSS code
• Understanding the limitations of our tech stack and business model and providing technical advice wherever necessary
• Coordinating the workflow between the UI/UX designs, HTML, CSS and backend application logic
• Cooperating with the back-end developer in the process of building the RESTful API

 

Desired Candidate Profile

 What you need to have:

• Confidence in working with HTML5/CSS3, JQuery, Ajax, Bootstrap, responsive design
• Expert knowledge of HTML5 and its best practices
• Proficiency in designing interfaces and building clickable prototypes using Sketch, InVision, Axure, etc.
• Knowledge of Git version control
• Knowledge of the command line
• 2+ years experience as a front-end developer
• 1+ year experience as a UI/UX designer
