Every query you fire triggers a choreography of distributed systems operating in real-time — integrating with a dozen airline GDS/NDC providers, computing dynamic fares across inventory buckets and fare rules, ranking thousands of itineraries by relevance and business intent, and returning a ranked, priced, bookable result set — all in under 100ms.

We are rebuilding the Flights platform as a real-time commerce engine for Bharat — AI-native from day zero, built to power both B2C consumer journeys and high-stakes B2B enterprise corridors.

This is a once-in-a-decade opportunity to build national-scale flight infrastructure from first principles.

🧠 What You Will Own

You will own the full Flights platform — systems, architecture, and the teams that build them.

Core System Domains:

•Search Systems — high-throughput, low-latency query pipelines returning ranked, bookable options

•Pricing & Fare Engine — dynamic pricing logic, fare rules, promotional overlays, and real-time validation

•Booking & Ticketing — transaction-critical flows requiring strict consistency, idempotency, and zero data loss

•Airline Integrations — managing unreliable external GDS/NDC APIs with retries, circuit-breakers, and reconciliation

•Post-Booking Flows — cancellations, modifications, refunds — correctness at the margin is non-negotiable

Platform Scope:

•High-scale APIs serving consumer apps, B2B enterprise clients, and third-party partners

•Event-driven state machines managing booking workflows across async boundaries

•Observability and reliability infrastructure across all mission-critical flows

Team Scope:

•Lead 15–30+ engineers across multiple product and platform teams

•Manage Engineering Managers and Principal/Staff engineers

•Own hiring, org design, and technical direction

Architecture & Distributed Systems

•Design and evolve sub-100ms distributed query systems serving millions of concurrent searches

•Build fault-tolerant booking pipelines with strong consistency and durability guarantees

•Drive Kafka-based event architectures for booking state management

Reliability & Observability

•Own 99.99%+ availability for booking and pricing systems

•Build deep observability — metrics, distributed tracing, structured logging, SLOs/SLAs

•Lead post-incident reviews and drive systemic reliability improvements

Business Partnership

•Partner with Product, Revenue, and Partnerships to translate commercial goals into architecture

•Influence platform roadmap, supplier strategy, and long-term technical investment

👤 Who You Are

•12–16 years in backend/distributed systems; 5+ Years in an Engineering Leadership role, led teams of 15–50 engineers

•Built and scaled large B2C + B2B platforms — Travel Tech, FinTech, or high-scale Consumer

•Deep expertise in real-time systems, marketplace dynamics, and external API integration

•Tier-I institute background strongly preferred (IIT / IIIT / NIT / IISC / BITS / VIT / SRM — CSE/ISE)

Key Responsibilities:

 Develop engaging, persuasive, and original content for websites, blogs, social media,

email campaigns, paid ads, and more.

 Collaborate with creative and marketing teams to brainstorm ideas, create concepts,

and develop messaging.

 Understand brand tone of voice and maintain consistency across all communications.

 Write clear, attractive copy with a distinct voice tailored to different audiences.

 Edit and proofread copy as needed, ensuring high editorial standards are met across

all outputs.

 Conduct research and interviews when required to understand products, target

audiences, and industry trends.

 Optimize copy for SEO best practices without sacrificing quality or tone.

 Contribute to content strategies that drive engagement, leads, and brand loyalty.

 Handle multiple projects simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines.

 Maintain up-to-date knowledge of content marketing, digital trends, and platform

updates.

Requirements

• 3+ years work experience with production-grade python. Contribution to open source repos is preferred
• Experience writing concurrent and distributed programs, AWS lambda, Kubernetes, Docker, Spark is preferred.
• Experience with one relational & 1 non-relational DB is preferred
• Prior work in the ML domain will be a big boost

What You’ll Do

• Help realize the product vision: Production-ready machine learning models with monitoring within moments, not months.
• Help companies deploy their machine learning models at scale across a wide range of use-cases and sectors.
• Build integrations with other platforms to make it easy for our customers to use our product without changing their workflow.
• Write maintainable, scalable performant python code
• Building gRPC, rest API servers
• Working with Thrift, Protobufs, etc.

• Periodic review based on approved annual audit plan, on suitability of internal controls in place, and suggest alternatives.

• Make recommendations on the systems and procedures being reviewed, report on the findings and recommendations and monitor department’s response and implementation

• Ensuring closure of audit issues identified in various audits

• Support in implementing policies, SOPs and processes

• Determine and report on compliance with policies and procedures as set by the management

• Support in planned activities such as stock – take of assets

• Support in investigations, if any, arising out of company whistleblower policy

• ERM follow ups and risk closures • Support Audit Committee related activities

Collaborate with product owner to define and implement innovative solutions for the product direction, visuals and experience.

Select the right controls and UI patterns to improve usability.

• Development and delivery experience in iOS, at least 2 apps should be in App Store
• Proficient in Swift 4.0 or later
• Experience with iOS frameworks such as UIKit, Maps, Core Location, Core Bluetooth and Core Animation etc.
• Familiarity with MVVM, Test driven development(TDD)
• Experience with third-party libraries such as Alamofire etc. and APIs Solid understanding of the full mobile development life cycle
• Proficient in RESTful APIs
• Proficient in Git
• Familiarity with push notifications and cloud message APIs etc.
• Experience with offline storage, threading, and performance tuning, optimisation
• Experience with performance and memory tuning with tools such as xcode Instruments and Shark
• Experience in writing unit and functional tests
• Perform bug fix and improve application performance
• Working knowledge of the general mobile landscape, architectures, trends, and emerging technologies
• Strong UX/UI design exposure and experience in making apps work intuitively and with pixel perfect interfaces. Understanding of Apple’s design principles and human interface guidelines
• Strong CS fundamentals (with competencies in algorithms and data structures)

Requirements and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master degree in engineering
• 7+ years of work experience, 1+ years of experience as a lead
• Proficient understanding of HTML, CSS, and Javascript
• Proficient understanding of ReactJs or similar library
• Good understanding of responsive web development
• Good understanding of SEO and analytics
• Ability to break the business problem into smaller features
• Ability to access the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs
• Build reusable code and libraries for future use
