As a System Administrator at Kyndryl, you’ll solve complex problems and identify potential future issues across the spectrum of platforms and services. There’s never a typical day as a System Administrator at Kyndryl, because no two projects are alike. You’ll be managing systems data for clients and providing day-to-day solutions and security compliance. Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical support for customer. Own and action requests for service, implementing changes and resolving assigned problems (may involve some after hours and weekend work).
- Provide 24x7 after hours on-call support as required for products supported by the team
- Personal compliance and ownership on security, audit and systems integrity posture
- Highlight areas for improvement in current processes, and implement improvements
- Must be flexible to support in different shift timings and provide coverage for the weekend maintenance change implementation windows.
- Attend and actively participate in weekly review meetings with the team leader and/or manager to discuss issues, concerns, people, ideas and workload
- Be a focal point in a technical and client advocate capacity and whenever rotated onto new accounts, ensure other team members are mentored to enable smooth succession of previous account
- Assist wider team performing the level 1-3 capability, potentially offshore or remote locations.

- 8+ Years Experience in Mainframe z/OS System Programming.
- Deep understanding of z/OS operating system architecture and features
- Deep knowledge of z/OS Facilities, Parallel Sysplex, GDPS
- Hands-on experience on SAD, GTF trace concepts
- Led multiple complex IBM and ISV product upgrades and related projects.
- Proficiency in z/OS system programming languages like assembler and REXX
- Expertise in system management tools like SMPE (Software Management Program Entry) and z/OSMF
- Knowledge of mainframe hardware configurations and I/O management
- Experience with system monitoring and performance analysis tools
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
Preferred Technical and Professional Experience
- Monitoring system performance using RMF, SYSVIEW, Mainview, TMON or Omegamon tools, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing optimization strategies.
- Diagnosing and resolving complex system issues, including software errors, hardware failures, and system crashes.
- Implementing and enforcing security policies on the z/OS system to protect sensitive data.
- Assessing system capacity needs and planning for future growth

Key Responsibilities
- Initialize/Add new DASD volumes and add new tape volumes. Perform the space management activities such as VTOC resizing, Defrag, Compress/Reclaim/Release/Cleaning of datasets.
- Manage and Define SMS rules and ACS routines.
- Manage and Maintaining DFHSM & Catalog’s.
- Storage dataset (RMM/HSM CDS & Catalog file) reorganization.
- Experience in generating all types of storage reports, SMF and Dcollect.
- Management of DR environment for DR readiness & execution. Performing the Disaster recovery tests
- Storage box Configuration (DASD & Tape).
- Storage box data migration (DASD to DASD and Tape to tape)
- Disaster recovery planning & implementation (Tape recovery / DASD Replication / Tape Replication/Hyperswap).
- Disk replication setup using the CSM (Copy Services Manager) / GDPS.

- 6+ Years Experience in managing DASD and tape data storage in Mainframe environment
- Storage Management related knowledge under the z/OS: including DFSMS, ISMF, NaviQuest, DFSMSHSM, DFSMSdss, DFSMSdfp, DFSMSrmm, ICF Catalog, IDCAMs, ICKDSF, VSAM and Non-VSAM Datasets (PS/PDS/PDSE/GDG)
- Practical Z/OS Operating System, TSO, ISPF, JCL, VSAM, JES2 knowledge
- Vendor Products for storage management including IBM (TACM, TAAM), CA (CA Disk, CA-allocate and CA-1), FDR products, Storage monitoring tools (Omegamon XE for storage, BMC-SRM, CA-Vantage)
- Data extraction, analysis & reporting from Dcollect/Tape Management/BVIR reports/SMF
- Working Knowledge & experience in REXX for task simplification & automation
- Replication technologies including IBM Metro Mirror, IBM Global Mirror and other IBM Multi-site replication setup.
- Disk Replication management products including CSM & GDPS.
- Expertise in Storage hardware subsystems including IBM DASD (DS8K), IBM Automated tape library and IBM Virtual tape library (TS7700/TS7720/TS7740/TS7760/TS7770)
- Configuration of DASD (carving & connecting) & Tape hardware (setting up TS7700) for mainframes
- Disk migration using TDMF, FDRPAS. Disk migration using Replication technologies
- Tape migration using products/tools such as T2T, Tape/Assist, CopyCat. Tape Migration within TS7700 Grid to new Clusters.
- Problem solving: Recognize complex problems related to functional objectives
- Analyze situations and implement solutions, or develop new system elements, procedures or processes
- Creativity and judgment applied to developmental work on different projects within the business environment
Preferred Technical and Professional Experience
- Experience in EMC’s storage (VMAX, Powermax and DLM) and Replication (SRDF, GDDR)
- Experience in Hitachi’s storage (USPV, VSP) and replication (HUR, Shadow-Image, BCM)
- SAS experience, Mainframe Storage modernization related knowledge and skills including: Model9, TCT, CTC, ZEDC implementation
- Cyber resiliency & Security related knowledge & skills including CSM Based SafeGuarded Copy, GDPS LCP, IBM CyberVault, Pervasive Encryption

- Proven experience on the CICS functionality and architecture.
- Provide technical support as needed in the planning, coordination, installation, implementation and testing of releases, upgrades or changes to CICS and related ISV products.
- Capable of installing, upgrading and migrating CICS Transaction Servers.
- Capable of installing, upgrading and supporting IBM & ISV related products such as Compuware Abend-AID, ASG TMON/CICS, Omegamon for CICS, BMC Mainview, Xpediter/CICS, CA ACF2/CICS, CA Intertest and CA SymDump.
- Provide primary on-call support for CICS and associated ISV products.
- Problem determination and resolution within expected timeframe.
- Diagnose CICS system and related product issues and follow up with Root Cause Analysis.
- Participate in Disaster Recovery planning and tests as scheduled.

- Experience in CICS transaction server and related ISV products.
- Basic knowledge on the following technologies: z/OS, Unix System Services, SMP/E, REXX, Java, VSAM and Third party products
- Capable of Upgrading /Installing and supporting IBM & ISV related Products Proficient in technologies like P2V, V2V and P2P migrations.
- Experience with performance tuning and workload balancing in CICS.
- Familiarity with CICS monitoring tools (Omegamon for CICS, BMC MainView, IBM CICS Performance Analyzer).
- Knowledge of CICS Web Services, MQ integration, and DB2 connectivity.
- Experience with RACF, ACF2, or Top Secret security administration for CICS.
Preferred Technical and Professional Experience
- Process driven management of technical operations and support.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- The ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Excellent troubleshooting and customer service skills.
- The ability to follow a project through to completion and/or to work as part of a larger team to complete the components of a complex project.
- Support for technical consultation and inquiries from the other IT technical teams.
- Develop, document and maintain procedures for system utilities such as backup/restore, performance tuning and configuration of environments.
