Job Description & Responsibilities

• Provide database monitoring and support of multiple 24/7 enterprise SQL Server always on availability groups.
• Troubleshoot issues as they occur, working with the Operations team during incidents, and resolving problems quickly and to a high standard.
• Maintain database performance by identifying and resolving production and application development problems, calculating optimum parameter values, evaluating
• new release code, answering developer questions and advising on code changes.
• Develop and configure database solutions, configuration of new systems, defining database structure, improving security, ensuring back-ups and restores meet audit requirements.
• Ensure all database systems meet RPO & RTO policies.
• Work with the Engineering Team to design and optimize SQL solutions.
• Work with the Operations Team to manage, install and configure servers in multiple data centres around the world.
• Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizations.
• Ability to work closely with developers to resolve issues and improve systems.
• High level knowledge of Windows and Windows security and how they affect SQL Server.
• Knowledge of PowerShell scripting.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Education

• BE, B. Tech, M. Tech in Computer Science or equivalent.

Certifications

• Knowledge of Clustering.
• Knowledge of Database Migration.
• Knowledge of Database Mirroring.
• Knowledge of Log Shipping.
• Knowledge of Mirroring.
• Knowledge of Replication.
• Knowledge of SQL DBA.

Work Experience

• 05 to 08 years of experience as a SQL Database Administrator.
• Experience in Airlines or travel domain is a plus.

Skills

• Responsible for installation and configuration of SQL Server 2016/2017/2019.
• Scheduling jobs and job monitoring.
• Performing SQL Server upgrades, applying patches, and monitoring status.
• Manage user and role level security.
• Understanding and modifying existing stored procedures.
• Configured always On, log shipping and replication.
• Creating databases and logins with permissions in SQL Servers as developer's request.
• Implemented database standards and naming conventions for the database objects.
• Monitoring the databases as per the daily schedule tasks to check the health of databases using DBCC commands.
• Monitoring jobs like backup and restore check the error log for daily running batch jobs.
• Performance tuning high-level understanding.
• Troubleshooting issues high-level understanding.
