Position Summary

We are looking for a skilled Data Engineer with strong expertise in Amazon Redshift, advanced SQL,

and data modelling to design, build, and optimize scalable data platforms on AWS. The ideal

candidate will play a key role in developing reliable data pipelines, enforcing data quality standards,

and enabling analytics and reporting across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

● Design, build, and optimize data models (fact/dimension, star/snowflake schemas) with a

strong focus on performance and scalability.

● Develop and maintain complex SQL queries in Amazon Redshift for analytics, reporting, and

downstream consumption.

● Optimize Redshift performance using distribution styles, sort keys, query tuning, and workload

management (WLM).

● Build and orchestrate scalable data pipelines using AWS Glue, Amazon EMR, Apache Spark,

and Airflow.

● Implement data quality checks, validation rules, and monitoring frameworks to ensure

accuracy and consistency.

● Work closely with analytics, BI, and business teams to translate requirements into robust data

solutions.

● Manage and optimize data storage and movement using Amazon S3.

● Ensure best practices in data security, governance, and documentation.

● Troubleshoot data issues and provide root-cause analysis and long-term fixes.

Required Qualifications

● Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field

● 3–5 years of hands-on experience in data engineering

● Strong advanced SQL skills (mandatory) with deep experience in Amazon Redshift

● Proven expertise in data modeling for analytical workloads

● Strong understanding of AWS data services, including: Amazon Redshift, AWS Glue, AmazonS3, Amazon EMR

● Experience with data pipeline and workflow orchestration tools such as Apache Airflow

● Hands-on experience with Apache Spark

● Proficiency in at least one programming/scripting language such as Python, Java, or Scala

● Solid understanding of data quality, validation, and best practices

Nice to have

● Experience designing large-scale analytics and reporting platforms

● Familiarity with BI tools and downstream analytics use cases

● Experience with cost optimization and performance tuning on AWS

● Exposure to CI/CD for data pipelines

Minimum 7-12 Years of Core Java Programming with Collections Framework, Concurrent Programming, Multi-threading (Good knowledge in Executor service, Forkjoin pool and other threading concepts)

·        Good knowledge of the JVM with an understanding of performance and memory optimization.

·        Extensive and expert programming experience in JAVA programming language (strong OO skills preferred).

·        Excellent knowledge on collections like, Array List, Vector, LinkedList, Hashmap, HashTable, HashSet is mandate.

·        Exercised exemplary development practices including design specification, coding standards, unit testing, and code-reviews.

·        Expert level understanding of Object Oriented Concepts and Data Structures

·        Good experience in Database (Sybase, Oracle or SQL Server) like indexing (clustered, non clustered), hashing, segmenting, data types like clob / blob, views (materialized), replication, constraints,            functions, triggers, procedures etc.

• Software Design and Development: Lead and contribute to the design, architecture, and development of software applications within the "I" domain. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software developers, hardware engineers, and product managers, to define requirements and specifications for software projects. • Technical Leadership: Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers, guiding them in best practices, code reviews, and troubleshooting complex technical issues. Act as a subject matter expert in software design principles, programming languages, and development methodologies. • System Integration: Collaborate with other engineering teams to integrate software components with hardware systems or existing software infrastructure. Ensure seamless integration and compatibility of software modules. • Code Review and Quality Assurance: Review code written by other team members to ensure adherence to coding standards, performance optimization, and maintainability. Perform thorough testing and debugging to identify and resolve software defects. • Documentation: Create and maintain technical documentation, including design documents, architecture diagrams, and user manuals. • Research and Innovation: Stay abreast of the latest industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices related to the "I" domain. Must Have Skills

• AWS Solutions Architect and/or DevOps certification, Professional preferred
• BS level technical degree or equivalent experience; Computer Science or Engineering background preferred
• Hands-on technical expertise on Amazon Web Services (AWS) to include but not limited to EC2, VPC, IAM, Security groups, ELB/NLB/ALB, Internet gateway, S3, EBS and EFS.
• Experience in migration-deployment of applications to Cloud, re-engineering of application for cloud, setting up OS and app environments in virtualized cloud
• DevOps automation, CI/CD, infrastructure/services provisioning, application deployment and configuration
• DevOps toolsets to include Ansible, Jenkins and XLdeploy, XLrelease
• Deploy and configuration of Java/Wildfly, Springboot, JavaScript/Node.js and Ruby applications and middleware
• Scripting in Shell (bash) and Extensive Python
• Agile software development
• Excellent written, verbal communication skills, presentation, and collaboration skills - Team leadership skills
• Linux (RHEL) administration/engineering

Experience:

• Deploying, configuring, and supporting large scale monolithic and microservices based SaaS applications
• Working as both an infrastructure and application migration specialist
• Identifying and documenting application requirements for network, F5, IAM, and security groups
• Implementing DevOps practices such as infrastructure as code, continuous integration, and automated deployment 
• Work with Technology leadership to understand business goals and requirements
