Looking for a PHP Developer responsible for managing back-end services and the interchange of data between the server and the users

We are building a platform for millennial parents to surround them with personalised support at every step of their parenting journey. The vision is to become their trusted 24*7 buddy right from planning a baby to 12 years of a child.

The plan is to on-board 1 million users at a break-neck speed in the next 6 months using ingenious methods, both online & offline. To support the growth and build multiple features, we are looking for a PHP Developer responsible for managing back-end services and the interchange of data between the server and the users. The position reports to the Technology Head and based out of Bangalore.

Technology : PHP( CodeIgniter, Laravel etc ),OOPHP, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, SQL

Responsibilities:

· Integration of user-facing elements developed by front-end developers

· Build efficient, testable, and reusable PHP modules

· Solve complex performance problems and architectural challenges

Requirement:

· Strong knowledge of PHP web frameworks {such as Laravel, CodeIgniter etc depending on your technology stack}

· Understanding of synchronous behaviour of PHP

· Understanding of MVC design patterns

· Basic understanding of front-end technologies, such as JavaScript, HTML5 and CSS3

· Understanding accessibility and security compliance

· Strong knowledge of the common PHP or web server exploits and their solutions

· Understanding fundamental design principles behind a scalable application

· User authentication and authorization between multiple systems, servers, and environments

· Integration of multiple data sources and databases into one system

· Familiarity with the limitations of PHP as a platform and its workarounds

· Creating database schemas that represent and support business processes

· Familiarity with SQL/NoSQL databases and their declarative query languages

· Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git

1. Very Strong hands-on knowledge of core PHP, MySql
2. Very Strong knowledge of JSON, JQuery, AJAX, HTML-5 CSS-3, JavaScript, Bootstrap
3. Very Strong knowledge of responsive websites
4. Knowledge of WordPress (added advantage)
5. Strong knowledge of cross-platform integration with various platforms
6. Excellent logical and analytical skills
7. Strong knowledge of IDEs being used in PHP development
8. Knowledge of PHP Frameworks will be an added advantage.
9. Strong knowledge and hands-on Oops concepts and MVC Design Patterns
10. Good knowledge of Data structures and algorithms.

• FULL-STACK PHP/MySQL development in CODEIGNITOR FRAMEWORK (LARAVEL, ZEND, CAKE, SYMPHONY frameworks acceptable) using AGILE METHODOLOGY
• Cross-functioning with our product development team wherein you’ll tackle complex tasks and transform them into intuitive, accessible and easy-to-use UIs and API interfaces
• Follow the coding guideline standards to ensure a bug free code as per industry norms
• Complete unit testing of the code before sending it for review
• Participate in the complete agile software delivery cycle, including development, testing, troubleshooting etc.
• Participate in process improvement program to improve the overall quality of the delivery process.
• This role offers good exposure in E-COMMERCE SEGMENT with HIGHLY SCALABLE design solutions
• Min of 3 years of relevant experience in PHP/MySQL using CODEIGNITOR framework development is a must (exposure to LARAVEL, ZEND, CAKE, SYMPHONY framework is acceptable)

• Proven knowledge of PHP/MySQL stack using CODEIGNITOR (preferable) framework for FULL-STACK development
• Responsive Front End Designs with adaptability to various screen sizes
• Scalable Back-End design architecture with DBMS and Caching
• Familiarity with REST web services and RESTful APIs. Knowledge of SOAP would be an added advantage
• UI design principles, patterns, and best practices, preferably MVC, MVVM, MVP
• Good knowledge of MySQL, JS/JQuery for database management
• Proficiency in code versioning tools/Source Code Repositories like GIT, SVN
• Experience with offline storage, threading (AJAX), and performance tuning
• Agile/Scrum methodology using JIRA or any agile tool
• Knowledge of the open-source PHP ecosystem, OOPs and the libraries
• A knack for benchmarking and optimization
• Familiarity with continuous integration

• 2-5 years of relevant experience
• B.E/ B. Tech/ M. Tech in Computer Science/ Electronics Communication/ IT engineering
• M.Sc. (Computer Science or IT)/ MCA from a reputable institute
• Good communication in written and spoken English

• Identify the interaction needs and how the API. must be developed based on design comps, product specs, etc.
• Continuously evaluate and implement new technologies to maximize development efficiency.
• Address and prioritize production level bugs and application performance improvements.
• An adaptable attitude and understanding of the agile methodology.
• Unit-test code for robustness, including edge cases, usability, and general reliability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and release new features.
