Job description

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and test low-latency, high-volume client-facing applications.
• Develop and maintain enterprise-scale, n-tier applications for the investment banking/capital markets domain.
• Implement microservices-based solutions using Spring Boot and other modern frameworks.
• Work extensively with Core Java 5.0 and above, Spring Framework, and CXF
• Optimize applications for multi-threading and high-performance server-side development
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement scalable, secure, and efficient solutions
• Work with RDBMS (preferably Sybase) to handle large-scale data processing.
• Develop and maintain applications on Unix/Linux environments
• Utilize enterprise application design patterns to build robust and scalable solutions.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues while ensuring application stability and performance.

Required Skills & Experience:

• 5 to 10 years of hands-on experience in Java development
• Strong knowledge of microservices architecture and cloud-based deployment.
• Expertise in Spring Framework, Spring Boot, and CXF
• Experience in developing and optimizing applications for high-volume, multi-threaded environments
• Solid understanding of financial domain applications, sales, and trading platforms
• Proficiency in working with relational databases (Sybase preferred)
• Familiarity with Unix/Linux environments and shell scripting.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to articulate and present design ideas effectively.

Skills Required:

- 4+ years of technical experience in a developer role

- Strong proficiency with Core Java

- Database experience preferably with DB2, Sybase, or Oracle

- Complete SDLC process and Agile Methodology (Scrum)

Skill Desired:

-Strong proficiency with Scala on Spark

- Previous experience in Trade Surveillance or working with data from the order lifecycle

- Good to have knowledge on Hadoop Technologies

JOB DESCRIPTION:

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead a team of 4- 8 engineers closely with complete authority and accountability to deliver high-quality software products in a fast-paced environment.
• Lead your team to design and develop applications based on Microservices architecture.
• Guide your team members on the latest technologies including Java, Spring, Spring-Boot, Angular, Hibernate, Redis, Hazelcast, Bootstrap, jQuery etc.
• Leverage development tools including AWS, GIT, Nginx, Jira, Confluence, Jenkins etc.
• Collaborate with other technical managers, architects, and product owners to build an integrated enterprise-class software product suite

Skills

• Java, Spring Boot – Must, Spring Data, ReactJS, DevOps, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript ES6 & above – Good to have

• 8+ years of relevant work experience
• Well-versed in data structures, algorithms, and software design. Programming experience with at least one of
• Java or Python and object-oriented design
• Knowledge on SQL, NoSQL databases, Messaging/Caching technologies and AW deployments is a plus
• Exposure to the architecture and design (design patterns, security, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems. Experience in building highly scalable business applications, which involve implementing large complex business flows involving multiple third-party integrations
• Prior startup experience is a plus

Work as a member of a team responsible for developing a HIPAA compliant secure care coordination platform in accordance with established processes. You will apply your knowledge of building scalable, distributed applications and have the opportunity to work with new technologies & frameworks such as Spring Cloud Netflix, AWS, Azure, NoSQL DB.

Essential Functions include but are not limited to the following.

• Contribute to all phases in the software lifecycle – requirements analysis, solution design, development, and deployment
• Maintain high quality standards for the work undertaken and be responsible for the quality of deliverables
• Ensure assigned projects are developed in accordance with established engineering processes, adhering to scope, schedule constraints and agile project plans
• Guide/mentor the less experienced team members
• Participate in code reviews

Key technical expertise areas expected for this role:

Strong programming skills in Java 8(+) with clear understanding of Object-Oriented and Functional programming. 

• Experience on REST API Programming based on a Microservices Architecture
• Good Understanding of Databases (MySQL & Mongo) and proficiency in database schema designing & writing efficient SQL Queries 
• Strong troubleshooting skills
• Demonstrable ability to learn new programming languages and frameworks quickly
• Experience with distributed systems with specific focus on security and scalability
• Experience with modern cloud technologies such as AWS or Azure

Additional areas that would add value:
