Software Engineer - Core application Streaming

The Role

We’re looking for a Full Stack Engineer to build, scale, and maintain high-performance web applications for Ctruh’s technology platforms. This role involves working across the stack - frontend, backend, and infrastructure - using modern JavaScript-based technologies.

You’ll collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and cross-functional engineering teams to deliver scalable, secure, and user-centric solutions. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys end-to-end ownership, technical problem-solving, and working in a fast-paced startup environment.

What You’ll Own

Full Stack Development

• Design, develop, test, and deploy robust and scalable web applications
• Build and maintain server-side logic and microservices using Node.js, Express.js, and TypeScript
• Contribute to frontend feature development and integration
• Participate in feature planning, estimation, and execution

Backend & API Engineering

• Design and develop RESTful APIs and backend services
• Implement asynchronous workflows and scalable microservice architectures
• Ensure performance, reliability, and security of backend systems
• Implement authentication, authorization, and data protection best practices

Database Design & Optimization

• Design and manage MongoDB schemas using Mongoose
• Optimize queries and database performance for scale
• Ensure data integrity and efficient data access patterns

Frontend Collaboration & Integration

• Collaborate with frontend developers to integrate React components and APIs seamlessly
• Ensure responsive, high-performing application behavior

System Design & Scalability

• Contribute to system architecture and technical design discussions
• Design scalable, maintainable, and future-ready solutions
• Optimize applications for speed and scalability

Product & Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with product and design teams to deliver high-quality features in rapid iterations
• Participate in the full development lifecycle - from concept to deployment and maintenance

Code Quality & Best Practices

• Write clean, testable, and maintainable code
• Follow Git-based version control and code review best practices
• Contribute to improving engineering standards and workflows

What We’re Looking For

Must-Haves

• 4+ years of professional experience as a Full Stack Engineer or similar role
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript
• Hands-on experience with Node.js and Express.js
• Solid understanding of MongoDB and Mongoose
• Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs and microservices
• Strong understanding of asynchronous programming patterns
• Good grasp of system design principles and application architecture
• Experience with Git and version control best practices
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field

Good-to-Have / Preferred

• Frontend development experience with React.js

Job Description:

Technical Lead – Full Stack

Experience: 8–12 years (Strong candidates Java 50% - React 50%)

Location – Bangalore/Hyderabad

Interview Levels – 3 Rounds

Tech Stack: Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, React, SQL

Focus: Hands-on coding, solution design, team leadership, delivery ownership

Must-Have Skills (Depth)

Java (8+): Streams, concurrency, collections, JVM internals (GC), exception handling.

Spring Boot: Security, Actuator, Data/JPA, Feign/RestTemplate, validation, profiles, configuration management.

Microservices: API design, service discovery, resilience patterns (Hystrix/Resilience4j), messaging (Kafka/RabbitMQ) optional.

React: Hooks, component lifecycle, state management, error boundaries, testing (Jest/RTL).

SQL: Joins, aggregations, indexing, query optimization, transaction isolation, schema design.

Testing: JUnit/Mockito for backend; Jest/RTL/Cypress for frontend.

DevOps: Git, CI/CD, containers (Docker), familiarity with deployment environments.

• Good to have Micro Frontend Architecture exposure
• Experience with tools like Maven, Ant, Git, Sonar, JaCoCo, Karma, Jasmine
• Scripting using Shell, Python, etc
• Must be involved in customer interactions for requirement gathering and solution designing discussions

We are looking for a dedicated backend developer (PHP) who loves programming and writes code that he/she is proud of.

As part of your job, you will constantly seek the latest technologies, be committed to using state-of-the-art solutions and never accept any performance on an ad-hoc basis.

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent expertise).
• PHP - you should have at least 4 years experience in PHP and in OOP development. Can use PHP to supplement and extend existing product.
• PHP Framework - At least 3 years experience in one of the following frameworks: Symfony, Laravel, Yii or Zend.
• MySQL - Can perform SQL queries and build data-driven applications. Knows basic of relational database design.
• Problem Solver - Can effectively debug issues using tools like xdebug or chrome's console. Is familiar with stack overflow and other community resources.
• Version control systems - Can use Git and understand basic commands
• HTML, CSS and JS - Basic knowledge in HTML, CSS and JS, familier with one of JS frameworks is needed as well.
• Desirable Skills:
• Knowledge of APIs, such as twitter, Facebook, Google maps, Instagram, etc.
• Knowledge of NoSQL with some experience is plus.
• Knowledge of AWS, RabbitMQ, Redis, and ElasticSearch is a plus.
