Job Title: Lead Java Developer

Job Overview:

We are looking for a highly experienced Java / Backend Developer with a strong background in investment banking/trading/brokerages to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in developing front office and middle office systems which require high availability, high reliability and low latency/high throughput performance profiles.

Skills & Qualifications:

• 8 to 12 years of experience in Java development, with at least 4 years in the investment banking/financial services domain.
• Strong knowledge of Java, Spring Framework, RESTful web services.
• Hands-on experience with AWS Cloud and related services. Knowledge of Kubernetes is a plus.
• Solid experience with Kafka and/or messaging protocols.

Primary Responsibilities:

Developer for IT Regulatory team, work with the development manager and key stakeholders to understand business requirements and develop moderately complex technical solutions.

Work collaboratively with the team to support existing functionality and build, implement, and support new solutions.

Draft and review technical diagrams, specifications documents and required project documentation.

Conduct code reviews of other developers.

Share experience and knowledge with the team to improve productivity & delivery timelines.

Continuously seek ways to improve our existing architecture, advises on complex code deficiencies, provides systemic proposals, and promote efficiencies where necessary.

Job Requirements:

Undergraduate degree in computer science or technology discipline

5+ years of Core Java Development experience & Integration Technologies (Spring, MQ, JSON, XML, SOAP).

Experience writing SQL queries (DB2, Snowflake).

Crystal reports/Excel Writer/Aspose.

Working knowledge of scripting languages (Perl, Unix Shell, Python).

Experience working with source code repositories (Bitbucket, GitHub)

JavaScript, Angular is a plus.

Requirements

• B.E/MS in Computer Science or equivalent.
• 10+ years or more of progressive software technology experience with at least 3 years in an architectural role.
• Completely hands on with technology and architecture. Start-up experience is a huge plus.
• Ability to quickly prototype and demonstrate technology value adds and educate + drive adoption within the extended technology team
• Excellent and robust understanding of scalable product system architecture(s), platforms and core technologies
